Chapter 3

Mavis (POV)

As I got my lunch I looked around to look for place to eat. Surprisingly, I saw Aladdin and Sphintus eating together and decided why not join them.

"Yo Aladdin-kun, Sphintus-kun. Can I join you?" I asked politely as smiled sweetly to them.

"No-" Sphintus didn't had chanced to finish as he was cut off by Aladdin.

"sure why not" Aladdin said as I placed my lunch on the wooden table. I it was really quiet so I decided to start a conversation.

"I heard that Sphintus-kun was also promoted to the 1st Kodor, congratulations by the way" I said not looking up while putting a spoonful of soup.

"Yeah yeah sure" he said not really caring as he continued to eat his lunch. I then felt my shoulders stiffen, so I decided to shrugged it off by stretching. What I didn't know was that my black coat wasn't entirely attached; realization hit me when my coat connected to the floor.

Both Aladdin and Sphintus stared, not at me but at my right shoulder where my (m/c) fairy tail mark is. (A/N- just pretend she has one, you guys can decide what color the mark is)

"oops" I said as I quickly took my coat from the floor and wore it; this time properly attached to my clothes.

"Eh? What's that (m/c) tattoo on your right shoulder?" Aladdin said with his face full of curiosity.

"Oh it's nothing. Its just a mark from where I come" I said. I didn't technically lied to them more like I told them half the truth.

"Say, you're from Leam empire right? I don't often go there but I know they don't have marks like that" Sphintus said as his eyes narrowed with his suspicion directly towards me.

"W-Well you see, Leam empire isn't my hometown. To where I was born, we would have this mark as symbol that we are all family" I said with a warm smile on my face as remembered the guild I made and everyone in it.

My thoughts were soon disrupted when we heard a scream, just outside the cafeteria of Magnostadt. I looked at both of them and they both nodded.

"Let's check it out"

Narrator (POV)

At the hallway.

"Now tell us why are staying at the most biggest and fanciest room of Magnostadt!" a random man said aggressively to the two girls that were trembling of fear.

"Yeah, that's where Master Titus is supposed to stay!" another man said.

Standing from behind them was a boy with a stoic face, wearing a peculiar magicians' robes. He had blond hair that was about his shoulders long and with two braided hairs on the side and had dark green eyes.

"W-We get your p-point so p-please, let us go" one of the girls said while stuttering because of fear.

On the background with the other students that was watching the scenario, there were three certain students also watching the scenario that was happening. A hot-headed white haired boy with a snake, a blonde haired girl with emerald green eyes from another world, and a small blue haired chibi.

As three watched, the scenery continued.

"Please i-it was just a small m-mistake"

"Oh, and why would we do such a thing hm?" said the man as he looked at the two trembling girls with a large grin on his face.

"After what you two did, you guys will receive a punishments and-" the other was cut off by non other than the blonde haired boy who they called Master Titus.

"Halt"

The two men suddenly stopped at what they're doing and two girls immediately ran away. Titus then looked to the direction where the three were watching. Titus could tell they tensed up as soon as he looked at them.

He walked towards the three not changing his stoic face, with the two men following him from behind.

"Hmm, you must be Aladdin and.., Mavis" Titus said while emphasizing the blonde hair girl's name, knowing that they're both from Leam empire, or at least they think she is.

Mavis, on the other hand, tried to look as innocent as possible. She didn't know why she was irritated at him. No it wasn't that, it wasn't him she as irritated. It was the two men behind Titus.

"let's get to the point shall we. I would like you two to become my friends, since you two have potential and it's best to stick together when you're from the same place, right 'Mavis' " he said while holding his hand out.

When Titus emphasized her name, she knew exactly who he was now. He said that 'it's best to stick together when you're from the same place', meaning he was was also from Leam empire. That means that this boy was created by Scheherazade, made to spy on Magnostadt.

"U-Uh" Aladdin, on the other hand, was a little confused. He doesn't know if he would want to be friends with Titus.

Knowing that Aladdin also saw the two men, who were standing behind Titus, getting mad at the two girls for a simple mistake.

For Sphintus, he was praying in the inside that Mavis and Aladdin wouldn't accept Titus's friendship. Knowing that Titus might only used them for his self benefits.

"I'm sorry Titus-kun, but I will have to turn you down" Mavis said politely.

"Oh? And why is that, you know I will only ask you once" Titus said, raising his right eyebrow. He was a little surprised that Mavis turned him down.

"If it means being friends with them, I'll have to stop you right there" Mavis said, as she eyed both the men who stood behind Titus.

"Why you-" before the man could finish a golden staff was under his chin and was directed at his neck.

The man started to sweat heavily and gulped. The man looked at Mavis in the eye and there he saw was a dark look that was directed towards him.

"Calm down Mavis" Aladdin said trying to stop Mavis.

For some reason Mavis shook her head little like she was in a trance for a while. Her staff disappeared and the man stumbled and landed on his but.

Mavis turned around to face Aladdin, there she scratched her nape and laughed awkwardly.

"Ah I'm sorry I'm sorry, I got carried away", her usual smile was once again planted on her face. Mavis then looked at the two mean and asked:

"I'm very sorry for my behavior earlier, are you guys alright?", Mavis looked at them dead in the eye as if she didn't just pointed her staff on one of them.

"Y-You're crazy" both said in unison.

"Uhuh..., anyways where were we Titus-kun" Mavis said, as she eyed Titus. Yet a strange old man, wearing a magician's robes, appeared. Everyone but Mavis and Aladdin bowed down as the old man walked towards them.

"Hey Mavis, why are they bowing?" Aladdin asked.

Mavis shrugged, also being clueless of the situation

"Shut up you two dumbasses and bow down" Sphintus whispered, as he scolded both Mavis and Aladdin.

Then the old man walked up towards Mavis and Aladdin. The two had no idea what's going on and just stared at the old man, but then realization then hit Mavis in the head.

"This must be the headmaster of Magnostadt" she thought as old man, known as Mogamet the headmaster, kept walking towards them until he was now in front of them.

He stood in front of them, he looked at Aladdin and said something very unexpected.

"If I ever had a son, I would like him to be just like you" said the headmaster out of nowhere as he patted the blue chibi's head. The headmaster then turned to Mavis making her tensed up.

"You must be Mavis Vermilion, I've heard so much about you in the first exam"

"Greetings headmaster, I am very flattered" said Mavis trying to be polite as possible, making sure that he doesn't noticed anything different about Mavis. Knowing that this old man was not who he seems to be.

Mogamet then turned to Titus, who was bowing; he gave Titus a smile as he turned to him.

"And I see you've met our top student, from Leam Empire"

"So he really is from Leam Empire, I need to keep an eye on him for now" Mavis thought as she eyed on Titus who was now standing proudly.

"Anyways, the main reason I've come here is to announce the first ever battle for this semester" Mogamet said, caused a lot of murmurs from a lot of people.

"In this battle, there will be four contenders, which means a 1 on 1 battle. Whoever loses will be going down to the 6th kodor and the winner stays at the 1st kodor. If it's a draw then there will be no punishment bestowed on the two contenders" said Mogamet.

"Now, the four lucky contenders that were chosen are Aladdin who will be battling Titus, our top student. And Mavis who will be battling Jason, a person who has the same level as Titus yet slightly lower", more and more murmurs were heard across the room.

Mavis on the other hand was, surprised since she just made it in the 1st kodor, now she's going to have a battle; better luck the first battle in the first semester. Same goes for Aladdin, who was now looking at Titus.

"This isn't even going to be a battle" said the man name Jason, Mavis's opponent, arrogantly.

"We'll see about that" Mavis muttered as the headmaster walked away and the students went back to what they were doing.

Titus then walked towards Aladdin with stoic face, as usual, with the 2 man walking behind him who were very warry of Mavis.

"Aladdin, make sure you give your all. Because I never lose a match" Titus said.

"Mn! I'll give it my all" Titus then walked away with his two companions following him from the back.
