1 Chapter 1 New beginning

Sitting on a black leather seat, Luna patiently waited for the time of the interview to start. She was dressed in a knee length black skirt with a white shirt then matched it with a pair of two inch black heels which in full gave her a gentle and simple look. Her blonde hair was tied in a neat bun and she didn't wear any make up given her unfamiliarity with it.

She had decided to report early for her job interview. It was advertised that the current secretary of the CEO of Carter corporations was retiring so the post was vacant and Luna had decided take this opportunity and try get a job in the mighty Carter corporations. She was anxiously checking her wrist watch and realized that there were still 30 minutes left for the interview time.

'It seems I came really early,' she thought. Since none of the other candidates had reported yet. She looked at her left and glanced at the receptionist who was specifically for the top most floor which was where the CEO'S office was. Luna couldn't help but admire her as she seemed to be engrossed in her work. It was said that getting a job in Carter corporations was not easy as it hired employees of high standards. She noticed that the CEO's floor had a private elevator and Luna also observed that each employee she saw here was smartly dressed in expensive clothes be it male or female. It was also said that the CEO of Carter corporations was a cold and serious man so Luna couldn't help but be nervous since he was the one going to interview them.

Luna Peyton, a twenty two year old girl had just left the orphanage to start her journey. She did not have this striking beauty of socialites but was pretty in her own way. She was a shy and innocent person totally inexperienced with the worldly things. She had a clear pale skin and was of medium height. The most beautiful feature on her face were her big brown eyes. They were so striking even at one glance. Her sharp nose and thin pink lips describing her small oval shaped face.

As she was still admiring the receptionist, she heard incoming footsteps and turned only to see other candidates who had also come for the interview and it seemed like they were just on time. They joined her and they exchanged pleasantries. They were three girls and two boys Luna being the sixth. Just after five minutes, the retiring CEO'S secretary informed them that the interview was to start and the first candidate was called upon in the CEO'S office.

Luna wished she could get this job because she needed to pay for her expenses as she had gotten an apartment which she was sharing with her friend called Bella. She also wished she could extend some help in the orphanage because it was her home. She then felt her phone vibrating and checked to see her roommate Bella calling her and she picked it up. "Hey girl when did you leave?" asked Bella on the other side yawning which showed that she had just woken up. "I left at six. Babe I'm very nervous the interview process is going on," Luna nervously whispered. " Oh God I thought it was starting at eight and you left at six?" exclaimed Bella.

" Yeah I had to come early you know first impression haha," Luna laughed nervously. "Okay then don't be nervous believe in yourself because I strongly believe in you. You're gonna crack this interview and bring the crown back home." " Okay thanks Bella I got to go," Luna quickly hang up as she saw the secretary coming their way. The secretary took another candidate instead and Luna's heart which had started to palpitate calmed down.

After something like thirty minutes, it was Luna's turn to go for the interview and as she was nearing the CEO'S office, she could hear her heart thumping in her chest. She made a quick prayer and entered the office only to be greeted by a pair of blue eyes of none other than Ethan Carter the CEO of Carter corporations who was seated like a king.
