477 Twisted Like Aldric

Islinda witnessed the moment when Aldric made up his mind and swallowed nervously. Today would be her last day on earth, which should have filled her with despair, but instead she was filled with anticipation to put an end to Aldric's tyranny. Even if she didn't win, she would die happily knowing she had put up quite a fight.

"You ungrateful little human!" Aldric snarled, his eyes filled with rage. He said, "Is this how you repay me for everything I have done for you?"

"No," Islinda shook her head, "You said it earlier, this was not for me, but for you! It's for you to show off your authority and rule over your household with fear. Unfortunately, you should know that ruling with an iron fist doesn't mean you will gain their respect. Fear does not beget respect, you have to earn it!"

He shouted, "She called you a whore!"
