104 Tossed Her Out Of The Carriage

Islinda held her breath at the sensation of Aldric's almost feather-like touch on her cheek. His icy blue eyes that almost looked kind now pierced her to the core, and a light flush spread across her face.

"W-what…?" She stared at him, mouth agape and waiting for a reasonable explanation for this. Aldric was certainly not comforting her, right? No way.

Aldric in question caught himself at the last minute and stiffened. What has he done? Why did he do that? However, the fae prince didn't want to look guilty in front of Islinda, so he decided to play it cool.

He lifted the thumb he used to wipe the tears and brought him to his lips. He tasted it and said, "So this is what a human's tears taste like? Salty?"

The blood drained from Islinda's face. No, she was horrified. And here she was, thinking that somehow he felt guilty for what he had done to her. Islinda gave him a disgusted look.
