Waiting to hear what Jim's answer might be feels like torture. I want to be with him so badly that the thought of him not wanting to be with me kills.

“Of course, I want to be with you,” Jim says. “I want to be with you more than I want anything else right now. And I want to prove that to you.”

“Just you being here is good enough,” I say. “I’m just so glad you believe me. I'm so glad we don't have to be angry at each other anymore.”

“I am too,” Jim agrees.

He looks at me thoughtfully for a moment, like he has something important on his mind. Then, he looks around the forest.

“Would you like to go somewhere with me?” he asks. “We haven't had time for a proper date. We haven't had time to really get to know each other.
