2 New Life and pack

Tamara POV

I inhaled as I looked down the road. Today we are traveling to Phantom City.

I didn't expect that we would leave like that.

My mother quickly sold our house along with all our belongings. I don't even have a chance to say goodbye to my friends.

"Mom, what's wrong? Does the pack hunt us because of me?" I couldn't stand it anymore, so I asked my mother.

"Hunt? Who will hunt us? You are the strongest in the pack,"

My mother laughed at my question as if I had asked a stupid issue.

"Then why do we leave right after I tell you what happen?" I frown, hearing my mother answer.

My mother sighed and seemed awkward looking at me. What's with my mom? Haven't I seen her embarrassed for a long time?

"I need to tell you something ... But please don't get mad at me, huh? "

"Mom, I'm nervous about what you're going to say ..." I utter as my eyes widen, staring at my mother.

"You know how much I love your father, and I will never forget him for the rest of my life. But as time goes by ..."

"Mom, stop. I already know what this is all about!" I asserted and tried to make my face as serious as possible while releasing a sigh.

"Tamara, if you don't like-"

I saw the sadness in my mother's eyes, so I didn't continue the prank I was planning to do.

I held her shoulder and said, "Mom, Your happiness is my happiness ... If you find someone who will make you happy and be with you when you grow old, I will be the happiest child in the world,"

I whimpered when my mother hit me on the arm, "You little tease! I thought you wouldn't let me have a new love life!" my mother remarked with a broad smile.

"Hahaha, are you kidding me? Mom, I've been telling you to find a new partner for the last five years!" I exclaimed.

"Thank you, don't worry; you will love Alfonzo,"

I laugh, catching sight of my mother shivering while mentioning the man's name, "So, this guy Alfonzo...perhaps you can tell me how the two of you meet and how your love story started since I never see you leave our town!"

My mother started telling me about Alfonzo and their love story. Since we were engrossed talking, we did not notice that we had already reached Phantom city.

"Mom, this city is big!" I exclaimed as we entered the center of the town.

"I didn't know Phantom was this advanced," My mother remarks while checking her phone. But since driving, my mother handed me the phone.

"Call your uncle; I'm not sure where is the exact address of his house,"

"Mom, are you sure this Alfonzo knows we're coming today? He should fetch us," I couldn't help but comment because we've been circling the town proper for a while now.

My mother laughed at my question, "Tamara, what do you think of me? Suddenly going to the man's house without warning? I'm too old for that!"

"Mom, I'm just asking! Since we are lost in this city," I laugh at my mother's cuteness.

After a couple of ringing, someone answers the phone.

"Hello?"

I could not answer instantly when I heard the baritone voice of the person on the other line... His voice was very manly, which thrilled me.

"Hello?!"

"He-hello, I'm looking for Alfonzo Hale?" I blushed when I stuttered in response. Even my mother raised an eyebrow as she listened to me.

"Alfonzo is not here. May I know who this is?"

"I'm Tamara Morningstar, the daughter of Lolita,"

"Aunt Lolita? Oh yeah! What's wrong?"

My eyebrows rose when I heard the excitement in the other line.

"Well, the thing is we are lost in the city," I admitted and smiled at my mother.

"Really? Can you tell me your location and I will come to pick you up since my father is not here at the moment,"

As soon as I told him our whereabouts, the guy hung up.

But my heartbeat was still pounding hard.

Tamara, what's wrong with you? You only hear his voice! And not only that! He is the son of your stepfather-to-be!

We waited for ten minutes before a motorcycle parked in front of our car.

"He must be Jonas!" My mother remarks and quickly get out of the car.

For heaven's sake! I knew he was handsome, but I did not expect him to be this gorgeous!

I hold my chest for fear of losing my heart in its place," What's going on? My attraction towards Jonas is much stronger than David; who becomes my mate?" I whispered while looking at the guy who is now going back to his car.

"Tamara, I'll introduce Jonas later. He will drop us in the house before he goes to his pack," my mother explained and started the engine of the car.

"It's okay, Mom; I'm not in a hurry to meet my brother-to-be," I empathize with the word 'brother,' not for my mother but me since I feel different towards him.

"It's my first time seeing Jonas, but as his father says...he is over the average! If I'm the same age as him, I will do everything to get him!"

"Mom, I didn't know you were looking at the outward appearance first?" I commented while looking at the car in from of us.

"Ha Ha Ha, Tamara, don't tell me you're different?"

"Mom, my heart is still shattered, so I prefer not to look at any guy," I declared while sneering.

"I'm sure you will find a perfect mate in this pack. I heard all the member is strong, so your strength will not be an issue,"

"Mom!" I exclaimed while frowning.

I didn't want to talk about my past with my former pack and mate.

Jonas stopped in the two-story house, so my mother soon followed.

"Looks like we are here...welcome to our new house,"

I look at the house before shifting my gaze to my mother, "I hope uncle Alfonzo will like me," I utter and smile at my mother.

"Tamara, he already does... Alfonzo has liked you since he first saw you. So, don't overthink and meet Jonas!" My mother remarks and gets out of the car.

Tamara, you can do this! He will be your brother, so don't think nasty toward him! Okay?
