11 Chapter 11

It wasn't just the confrontation that caused Bane to not be able to go to the coffee shop in the morning. It was the fallout that occurred after that when he got a call from an very angry alpha over what had happened. Evidentially no one had told him the real story behind what happened when his packmates came limping back to him with their tails between their legs.

Human technology certainly made things easier in these type of situations. Bane was able to take the call from his side of the boarder without worrying about the confrontation that might ensue if the other alpha ended up coming to his territory in order to discuss the current issue.

"Derrek to what do I owe this pleasure?" he asked in rather lazy and disinterested tone of voice even though he already knew what the issue at hand was. Crescent had been the one to pick up the pack phone it had started ringing so he was able to let his brother know what exactly was going on.

"I think that you already know what this is about." the other answered in a cold tone of voice.

"Something to do with some pups who thought that they had a right to invade my territory and attack my wolves while they were on patrol?" he asked replying with similar coldness to the edge of his voice even though he was still replying more calmly than the other was.

"You attacked my beta without provocation." Derrick replied back with a low growl at the edge of his voice. Bane answered this response with a cold, harsh bark of a laugh. Of course they wouldn't be honest about what happened, they didn't want to lose face.

"Hardly, he was the one who attacked first. I'm not sure exactly what type of control you're trying to keep over your pack there, but they apparently think it's okay to come to another territory and act on their own without your permission. I was just reminding them of what might happen if they were foolish enough to do so." The alpha replied back, not surprised that silence followed his response on the other end of the phone.

Bane might've been known for being a harsh alpha who ruled his territory with harshness who could be quick to turn violent when conflict occurred. He wasn't though one to attack members of opposing packs without good reason. He only did that with humans who happened to annoy him or caused unnecessary problems.

"I see. It would seem then I perhaps need to have another conversation to find out what exactly happened. I don't appreciate this anymore however and would prefer in the future if you would contact me to handle such matters." Derrek finally replied. Bane left of a huff of a scoff in response to what the other said.

"Keep a better control over your pack and such issues won't happen again. Your Beta is obviously still a pup who shouldn't have been allowed to take his position until he properly learned what it entails. Also, I would recommend that you for the death of your pack members that you teach them not to take what is theirs." Bane didn't allow the other to reply before he ended the call. he had nothing else to say and didn't care for whatever response the other alpha was going to reply with.

His whole night had already been thrown off and it was far later than he had been expecting it to be before he would be getting a chance to retire for the night. He need to be able to sleep otherwise he knew that he wouldn't be able to function for the meeting that he had the next day.

"Sorry for the unexpected disruption." Aster apologized as he had entered the room. He had gone with the other injured members in order to make sure that they got the proper care that they needed. Crescent had been on his way to help out when the call had come in and he knew he would need to answer it.

"It's not your fault that some of these other werewolves around here don't know how to behave properly. I would almost assume that they are becoming too much like humans and forgetting their honor as wolves." Bane replied to his beta. He stifled the yawn that he felt coming on.

"Hopefully they learned after tonight. I highly doubt though that this will be the last time we see them or have to deal with their alpha after what happened tonight. I think we should strength patrol for the next two weeks in order to prevent something like this happening again." Bane suggested as he stood up from the chair he was sitting in. He stretched his back until it popped. In some ways he already felt like he was getting too old with everything that he was having to learn to balance.

"I will make sure it is taken care of and inform you if any other issues should occur. Will you be staying here tonight or heading away?" Aster then asked. He already knew who he would be adding to the patrol in order to make sure things were shored up should anything like this occur again.

Bane longed to head back to his apartment complex and sleep in his bed, he could feel the softness calling his name, but he knew that it would take too long and cut into the little sleep time that he had left.

"I will stay here tonight and head out in the morning." Alpha replied with a sigh. He would just have to opt for sleeping in one of the hospital beds if they weren't all occupied when he got there. He was sure if there were one or two open his brother wouldn't mind stealing it to sleep on. He did need his own good rest for the night if he wasn't going to snap at anyone during the meeting presentation that he had to give in the morning. In order to get extra sleep, he already knew as much as he was going to lament it the next morning that he wouldn't have time to stop for coffee.
