Chapter 12

After all the rustling, growling and heavy breath sounds from behind the thick bushes between trees. Then a loud sound of thud as if something big just fall on the ground. A few second passed leaving the surrounding went silent except rain sound fall from the sky on the leaves.

Camellia's heart thumping loudly almost burst out of her chest. Her thought was full with her life might end that night. Her mind went wild all the time when she hear the sounds. She thought that it might a beast trying to attack and have her for his meal that night. Then thud sound and heavy breath follow after might another beast tried to attack the previous one. At the same time she also think of another possibility that it might just heavy branches fall down from a tree. All the time she hope for the last possibility. But it is impossible for a trunk to release a growling sound or breathing heavily.

Camellia knock her head two times for having all the stupid deduction all the time. "Stupid brain. That was unnecessary things to think about." She huff to herself and pick up a straight branches near her feet. She decide to use them in case she receive sneak attack and use the branch as a weapon.

However, after all those question Camellia decide be brave and take a look anyway at the cause of those sound. She take a small slow step one after another. She then understand that there were no other movement after the thud sound. She tried to calm her heart beats a little.

Making rustling sound using the branch and the bushes leaves, Camellia want scared the thing behind the bushes if any left. She then take a peak and saw what she never expected. A big wolf laid on the forest floor with multiple wound that still bleeding. A lot of blood create a pool here and there.

"It must be really painful." All Camellia had been thinking.

At the first sight seeing the beast make Camellia want to run away immediately. But later when she see the helpless creature, make her soft hearted toward it. The next thing she knew, she using the branch in her hand to poke the beast a few times. Camellia wants to make sure that it still in unconscious state. In which she pray to God all the time. She just want to help the one in need.

Later, Camellia walk closer to the wolf. She walk around the wolf to check the injuries and count them to know the degree of seriousness. When the rain gets heavy she decide to find a place to take a shelter. If possible a dry and warm place. She felt really cold in the wet clothes.

"Oh yeah. Now I remember where we should go to hide from the rain. But how am I supposed to take you there? Hurmm…" mutter Camellia while thinking to herself. "It might work that way. But I will need to use all force but not as much as to just drag you around."

Camellia make a move to look around for the things she long for and collect two fronds of coconut leaves. She put both of them together next to the spine of the wolf. Next, she rolled the wolf onto the leaves carefully. She position the wolf at the centre of the two fronds. Camellia then move to take position to pull him down the mountain for quite a distance of a few metres away. Not long after ten minutes struggling, they arrived at the perfect hiding spot.

Camellia placed the wolf further into a cave near a waterfall that she want to share with her parents that day. As far as she know, nobody should know and found the cave as it was hiding behind the waterfall and there was hardly any people to come up the mountain.

Camellia start to give a treatment soon after she wash clean her hands, then follow by treat on the deep and serious wound first before proceed the light wound and scratch. She inspect the wound and received a shock when she found out that it was a bullet hole.

"Are you being hunt around? Oh my pitiful creatures. I hope you will survive even with these poor treatment. I'm just a beginner to your species. But where did you get the scratch then? Are you get bullied by others as well?"

She tried every possible way to take out the bullet. She work faster thanks to all the medicinal herbs she collect before reach the top of the mountain. She had all she need with her. "What a lucky dude you are. Except for the wound of course, but you found the right person you need to help you."

Camellia concocted a medicinal herbs that help any internal injuries. She feed the medicine using a leaf that she roll up like a long straw. Next, she starts a fire using two pieces of tissue some oil and a lighter. She collect all the wet and dry twigs that she found near the waterfall. She arrange them in a small unknown shape, put two pieces of tissues and make them looks like a bowl. Pour out some oil into it and start the fire at every corner of the tissue. Only after she make sure that the fire won't extinguished, she added another layer of dry twigs followed by the wet ones.

She clapped her hand happily when the fire become bigger and even burnt the wet ones. She feel happy and proud at the same time with her accomplishment. She is a genius after all. She also fell glad that all the items were always in her bag all the time. Never expected that one day it will help her in every way.

After all the task in hand done, Camellia walk to sit near the wolf. She needs to stay there until the rain stop pouring. She want to stay close to the wolf to share their body heat. She still felt cold with her damp clothes stick on her body. At the same time, Camellia felt attracted to the wolf and she really want to ruffle the fur and give the wolf a hug.

"You better payback later. I used all my energy today to save you. Anyway, get well soon."

While waiting for the rain to stop, Camellia felt exhausted and sleepy. She starts to yawn one after another. Unconsciously, while ruffling the soft and flowing fur that almost dry thanks to the heat from the fire Camellia felt asleep.

Never know a strong fate between both of them will bring both of them together sooner. The statement said by Camellia will come true one day.
