6 Lerei Tal Bran

On the sturdier branches of tree downriver, a silhouette in the foliage prepared to strike its target.

"Sis are you sure you want to do this? Our father has forbidden us to go hunting alone."

Next to the silhouette, there was a smaller one speaking in a low voice, "Shh, shut up Cody! Do you want to be heard by the boar!?".

The girl protested in a low voice to the little boy at her side. Her bow was outstretched ready to fire her arrow at the beast below them, an emerald green light came out of her hands and covered the arrow.

He took a deep breath and...

Flewww!

The arrow left behind a hissing sound that in an instant reached the boar, piercing it from side to side.

The boar didn't even have time to react, its huge body made a thud on contact with the ground. It didn't even have time to gasp when it took its last unsuspecting breath.

The attack had been successful.

"YAY! Did you see Cody!? Who's the best hunter in the village huh? Go milk those old men!".

The girl got out of the tree and went to meet the carcass jumping. It was her first success, after so much study and training she felt she was ready and no one was going to stop her.

"You did great big sis, but.... How do we take him away now?"

The little boy, who also came down from the tree, brought his sister back down to earth.

The boar they had hunted, despite not being an adult yet, weighed more than 300 kg.

"Ahh what a bore! You're a troublemaker, you know that? We'll dissect it, take away what we can," her sister reiterated.

She nodded and a sack appeared out of nowhere along with a knife.

"But if we leave the remains here, won't we attract the other wild beasts?"

The little boy's concerns were more than fair, but the girl ignored him completely as she was intent on dismembering the carcass.

Finishing her task, the girl breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Phew, we can leave."

With another wave of her hand, the sack with the loot inside disappeared just as it had appeared.

"Ugh, maybe we'd better get a rinse..."

Although she had been properly instructed on how to dissect the prey hunted by her father, she still couldn't help but get dirty with the remains of the animals.

There were still traces of blood in her hands, as well as on her clothes, giving off an intense smell of blood.

"The river is nearby," said the brother, also accustomed to the bloody life of a hunter.

It was broad daylight, the sun was high in the sky and there wasn't even a cloud.

The brother and sister were heading towards the river, moreover the girl was in a very good mood as it was a festive day;

As soon as they returned home, they would enjoy a sumptuous feast with the day's spoils.

"Here we go, Cody's keeping watch while I wash up."

Shortly after taking off her boots, she stepped into the water, bent down and rubbed her hands in the water to remove the blood stains, took off her inseparable orange bandana and let her hair be caressed by the cool breeze.

It was a bright green; it was like watching grass dance to the rhythm of the wind.

Behind her, the little brother, who was keeping watch, spotted something near the shore and said in an alarmed voice, "Sis, there's something up ahead!"

Without waiting for his sister's reply, the little boy walked to the shore ahead.

"But it's a person!"

He quickly entered the water, hurriedly pulling the unconscious person out.

Underneath the threadbare shirt, the silhouette of a puppy could also be clearly seen.

"Wow! But it's a wolf cub! White in color, too!"

Cody pulled out the poor unfortunate's body and picked up the pup.

"Cody? What the hell is going on?" with her hair still damp, the girl headed towards her brother.

Along with him, she saw the body of an unconscious boy and a puppy in his arms.

"I found this person on the shore and in his arms he had this puppy!" said Cody.

The girl walked over to the boy's body to examine it, put her ear close to the young man's chest to hear his heart.

Tu-tum, tu-tum.

The beats were faint.

"His body is cold and the pulse is weak, but it doesn't seem life-threatening."

The river waters were very cold, especially near the waterfall.

"The puppy?" asked the girl.

"He seems to be sleeping," replied the brother.

Receiving the outcome from the brother, she returned to examine the boy's body, "He has a deep wound in his shoulder and is full of burns and scratches all over his body."

She tore a piece of cloth from her dress and bandaged the wound on the boy's shoulder.

"Big Sis look at his back!" after turning him around to bandage him up, the little boy stood in disbelief at the wound on the boy's back.

"Ugh... That must have hurt..." the girl saw the tremendous wound and was shocked.

He could only imagine the pain caused by that wound.

"It looks like claws..." said Cody with a clear pallor in his face.

"They are, whatever it was, it must have been really huge."

The girl nodded again making a blanket appear to cover the boy.

After covering him up, the boy slowly regained his senses.

"Ugh... Where am I...?"

His voice was weak, his vision still blurred.

"Big Sis has regained consciousness!" the little boy quickly called back to his sister.

"Huh?" the sister was stunned.

"How is that possible? He shouldn't regain consciousness in his condition!" she was incredulous.

"Can you hear me? Do you feel any pain? Can you tell me what happened to you?"

She made a sign with her hand in front of the boy and began to bombard him with questions.

"One question at a time please..." the poor unfortunate was Rada.

He had just awakened from what seemed to be an eternal sleep, what's more, he was being bombarded by a girl, with green hair?

He clutched the blanket tightly from the cold, "I'm still alive..." he thought.

"Kiba? Where's Kiba!?"

Realizing the emptiness in his arms he panicked, he thought he had lost him in the fall.

"You mean the puppy? He's here don't worry, he's fine."

Cody stepped forward and showed the puppy to reassure him.

After seeing the puppy sleeping peacefully, Rada breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ahahaha in your face you mangy bastard!" his delirious yet weak laughter concealed the happiness of someone who had just escaped death.

The two siblings looked into each other's eyes, they thought the boy in front of them had gone insane.

"Are you okay? Are you sure everything's okay?" the girl asked doubtfully.

"Huh? Yes I'm fine, argh! At least I think so...", after the moment of excitement Rada felt his body burning with pain.

"Don't move you're full of wounds, it's a miracle you're still alive" the girl tried to hold him down gently.

The girl's green eyes, full of kindness, was turned towards him.

"She's really pretty..." thought Rada.

She seemed to be young, her slender body was bursting with energy from all pores. But he quickly shook off the unnecessary thoughts, it was not really the time.

"It was you who found us? I thank you," he said smiling at his rescuers.

"Your welcome, it was by chance that my brother found you, do you have a name?" the girl asked.

"You can call me Rada, the puppy is Kiba."

"Rada? What a strange name...."

"Hey hey, that's my name!" protested Rada weakly.

"And you are?" he asked immediately after.

"Oh sorry, I'm Lerei but you can call me Rei, the little boy with your puppy is my brother Cody," the girl replied smiling.

"Lerei?" asked Rada again to confirm.

"Yes, Lerei Tal Bran!"
