32 A pearl to tame them all

"Ahah! I succeeded master!"

Exulted the boy with his spirits soaring. He didn't even realize the old master's stunned look.

"H-how the hell is that possible...?" babbled the elder.

What were the chances that Rada's sphere had the same properties as him?

"Unless...!"

All of a sudden, a thought struck him like a bolt of lightning.

"Stay here for a moment!"

The Elder ran out of the room in a great hurry. Rada watched him disappear in puzzlement, then returned to observe the sphere.

"Strange, he didn't give any answers before and now he does..."

He gazed in contemplation at the symbol on his hand.

A few moments later, the Elder returned with the Bran family's clan leader, Logar.

They seemed to be in a hurry, especially the Elder.

"Logar, infuse the power on the sphere!" said the Elder hastily.

A thought aroused his curiosity as never before in his life. He decided not to explain anything for the moment, after all, what he was thinking about was just a hypothesis.

"Good."

Logar followed the Elder with a doubtful expression on his face, but decided to listen to the old man anyway. In the blink of an eye, the sphere began to glow a bright green, gusts of wind could be clearly discerned swirling around it.

"Alright, stop the process and hand me the sphere now," ordered the Elder.

"Okay."

Logar interrupted the flow of energy going to the sphere, and then passed it to the old Elder.

"Well son, now it's your turn!"

Taking the orb, the Elder turned it on Rada.

"Alright!" Rada sensed something.

He took the sphere without hesitation and concentrated.

The orb began to glow again. To his slight disapproval, however, I noticed that the black smoke that had previously appeared reappeared.

(Could I have been wrong?) he thought.

Suddenly, the smoke covering the sphere began to dissipate, the elder and Logar's eyes widened at the sight of what they were witnessing.

The same bright green light, which moments before was revealed before Logar, was now in front of Rada, the sphere was shrouded once again in gusts of wind.

"But how is it possible...?" Logar turned to the shocked Elder.

"I initially had the same expression as you, you know? The pearl that Rada possesses is very, very special," the Elder said, shaking his head.

He waited for the boy to finish before explaining it.

However, Rada anticipated him.

"My pearl doesn't have its own element, but it absorbs that of all the others, am I right?"

He looked once more at the symbol in his hand as he said this, the light in his eyes became even more intense. How lucky did one have to be to run into something like this?

The Elder and Logar stared at Rada with disbelief in their eyes.

"Initially, mine was just a thought, but this seems to be the case!"

The Elder was extremely stunned by the discovery, he looked at his pupil with pride in his eyes, his future seemed to be limitless. He was increasingly convinced that the boy before him would disrupt the hierarchies of the world they knew.

"So it's true! But is such a thing really possible?"

Despite the truth being presented in front of him, Logar had a hard time believing what he saw. The troublesome boy who hung around his daughter was both a cultivator and a possessor, what's more, the latter seemed to possess unique powers.

"The world is full of mysteries," stated the elder.

"However boy, you have all the more reason to hide your pearl, you have no idea what might happen if such a thing were to come to light" he said in a solemn tone.

"What would I be up against in that case?" asked the pupil.

"The end," replied Logar, "they would extract the pearl from your body and you would die in the operation."

"There are dark forces lurking in the shadows, especially among those who aspire to power, you must be extremely cautious," added the Elder.

"All right," nodded Rada.

"With the gauntlet, it won't be a problem to hide it."

"You will still have to deepen your knowledge of it, discover all its secrets and manage to extract its full potential" explained the Elder.

"There is still a lot of work boy, you will have to make double the effort."

"I won't let you down master!" replied the pupil full of enthusiasm. His fists were clenched in anticipation of the moment.

"Mm! That's how I like you! Ohohoh" replied the master laughing in his usual strange way.

"That's all for today, go back to your room and think it over, tomorrow is a new day! Logar you come with me."

So, having finished his training with the Elder, Rada returned to his room after taking a long bath, there waiting for him was little Kiba sleeping on the bed.

"Welcome back, looks like you had a blast out there," the pup said as he stretched. Of the two, he was definitely the quieter one.

"What about you, though? Don't you need to train your skills?" asked Rada.

"My family's noble blood already has everything I need, I only need to sleep to discover all its secrets," the puppy replied proudly.

"So much for that!" replied the boy full of envy.

"Well, anyway I've finally figured out more about this gem, I can't wait to learn more!"

He sat down next to the bed.

"Master said to think about it, but what should I think about?" he asked to himself.

"Maybe try to become familiar with its power," said the puppy.

"How?"

A sudden frustration hit him, in his haste, the master told him nothing more about how to interact with the pearl. Nor did he ask anything, in that moment he felt like a real idiot.

"Well I'll just have to try it myself."

He had a thousand ideas in his head, his imagination was not lacking, neither was his enthusiasm.

So he tried to concentrate on the pearl inside him.

Before long he found himself in an unfamiliar place, a huge door before him barred his way though.

"Where does this door come from?" he asked himself. He tried to beat the huge bronze-colored woodpecker, but nothing.

Without giving up he tried to shake it, push it, kick it even. But the door wouldn't budge an inch.

"What the hell! What is it made of, steel?"

He came back to reality opening his eyes full of frustration.

"Hey Kiba, when I focus my will on the pearl, a strange door appears out of nowhere. But for some reason I can't open it! Argh! What nerves!"

He threw himself on the bed in frustration, literally blowing the puppy up.

"Damn, never a moment's peace when you're around!" complained the puppy.

"But if I'm peace made flesh," replied Rada in a playful tone.

"Yeah, like a stormy sea" Kiba turned around and went back to sleep.

"Phew, how boring" huffed the other.

At the same time, he looked at the symbol on his hand. A thought came to his mind....

"One pearl to tame them all.... Pfft! Ahahahah!"

The puppy tried to plug his ears with his paws.

"I hope they tame you to pieces!"
