Chapter 10

As the man approached, his maid lowered her body into a deep bow. Ba Yihan was used to people bowing to him. Not at Raining Moon Hill, or any sect capital for that matter, but in cities. People were happy to respect those that protect them, so this was no different.

But, this was different. Ba Yihan knew something. Her outfit sheltered nothing. Her breasts, perfectly rounded, were shown while she leaned down, the collar also pulling towards gravity, revealing even more of her body. Ba Yihan, confused and startled, looked away.

Yue Mingkun, on the other hand, laughed softly. “Madam, no need to bow to us. We are simply hear to serve.” He said with a cheeky grin. You are enjoying this nudity!?

Ru Zhaozhi didn’t even talk to the maid, instead turning to the fat rich man that grinned at the four of them. “Are you the man that called us?” Ru Zhaozhi asked with a straight face, his body not even glancing at the woman that teased the three beside him. She lifted her body up straight once again, and adjusted her dress. Now you want to fix it?

The old man nodded, and placed his palms together with a smile. “Yes. My name is Fu Guanying. I am the elder of the Fu Mansion. This is my wife, Fu Xia.” He said, and once again, Fu Xia bowed. This time, thankfully, it was only her head. Her voice was light and petite, and she sounded like a child.

“Thank you, fine cultivators. I will give thanks for your protection via a feast throughout the town.” She says with a white smile. She raised her hands to show off the basket of fruits and fish. “You will love the taste of Chun Hai’s meals and refreshments!” She seemed proud to be serving the four young cultivators, and Ba Yihan didn’t dislike the idea of food custom to the coastal area.

Ru Zhaozhi, on the other hand, shook his head. “No need. We will evaluate the problem, and handle it as quickly as possible. Liu Bai He Clan is training new disciples, and we must not miss too many of our classes. Please, take us to the bodies.” Ru Zhaozhi spoke gently, though his voice was still urgent and not lacking in stoic fashion, the same way all the disciples of Liu Ba He Clan know how to do.

Fu Guanying swiftly turned, his drapes flying behind him. “Ah, yes of course, young masters. Follow me. Fu Xia, you may return to the mansion. If anything happens to you, call to the young masters immediately.” Fu Guanying spoke strictly to Fu Xia, squeezing her hand that was not holding the basket. Fu Xia lifts his hand and places it on her chest. Ba Yihan looked away once again. I understand you have been maturing nicely, but do you have to point it out so much?

Fu Xia spoke softly. “Yes, my love. I will make sure both your wives and I are all safe.” Fu Xia whispered, before letting go. She looked back at Ba Yihan, and giggled. “Young master, will you come to protect us?” She asked with a soft smile, her pink lips reaching her dimples.

Ba Yihan didn’t even open his mouth when Yue Mingkun placed his hand out, opening it in front of the wife of Fu Guanying. “Anjing De Hua Sect is known for protecting women and children. It is in my training. Let me protect you.”

Yue Mingkun held out his hand, and Fu Xia didn’t hesitate to take it. Her eyes twinkled as she looked into the disciple’s eyes. Ba Yihan let out a breath, holding in the reflex to gag.

“Thank you, cultivator. Fu Xia, show him the way to the mansion.” Fu Guanying said with a smile, and Fu Xia nodded. She pulled Yue Mingkun forward, taking the young man towards her husband’s house.

Fu Guanying then turned back around towards the other three. Ba Yihan was a little relieved that Yue Mingkun was the one that left. At least I don’t have to hear you whining anymore.

“The bodies are being kept at the memorial area. Including my last wife.”

Ba Yihan was taken off guard when he had heard that last part. Even though the disciple has been quiet for the entirety of the trip, he couldn’t help but speak in the mist of the rich man’s sad words. “Your.. deceased wife.. Was one of the people killed?” He questioned, walking quicker to saunter with the rest of the disciples, walking in line with them.

Fu Guanying places his hand on his heart with a grave attitude. “Yes, she was the first. Fu Fanying. She was only my wife for a week before that.. Something.. Yanked her into the ocean.”

“She was killed in the ocean?” Tai Xinbing looked with his eyes wide. He was shocked, but quickly cleared his throat and spoke again, this time with a much more sober visual. “She was pulled into the ocean and died? We must assess the cause of death of the deceased.” He said strictly, looking at the other two disciples. Wow, so you are also basically a Liu Bai He Clan disciple, just different colors. I guess Tai Changan’s teachings are also all about professionalism.

Fu Guanying let out a stuttered breath, his face filled with grief. “Fu Fanying was such a sweetheart. What happened to her, I don’t know. Fu Xia was with her. All I heard was Fu Xia’s screams.”

Ba Yihan thought that Fu Guanying was ready to cry, so to aid the situation, he spoke gently. “Fu Guanying, we will avenge both Fu Fanying, as well as all the others that had died from this creature. Demon, ghost, or beast. We will take vengeance that is rightfully earned.” Ba Yihan tried to speak with confidence, but lacked in the ways Tai Xinbing and Ru Zhaozhi had. That firmness if you will.

But that wasn’t what mattered. He did believe the four of them, once they found Yue Mingkun, will make sure no one from Chun Hai will be killed again. That was Ba Yihan’s goal, as non-lazy as he was. Look at me! Mother would be proud!
