Since he couldn't discover any creatures here, he decided to venture farther into the forest.

He had only spotted wolves on the forest's borders, but that wasn't enough for him now. He still needed to kill a couple more wolves to collect 10 Lesser Grade Dao Fragments.

He detected some activity close after a few minutes of wandering. He instantly hid in a nearby bush after sensing various movements. Several animals were escaping from something.

He crept carefully towards where they were running. He soon realized that two big creatures were engaged in a battle. One was similar to the grey wolves he had previously hunted, but it was larger and stronger. It was also too fast to follow.

It was most likely an adult Gale Wolf. On the other hand, there was a lion. Its body was covered with crimson flame-coloured fur.

These two were engaged in a heated brawl. Both were around the same size, standing about 3-4 meters tall. The lion likely had more strength since it was bigger and every motion it took caused observable tremors in the surroundings.

The wolf, on the other hand, was fast, almost too fast to follow with naked eyes and almost no attacks of the Lion were landing on it.

It seemed the Gale wolf was attempting to exhaust the opponent with its speed and quick assaults. The lion, on the other hand, was relying on its exceptional endurance and strength.

From time to time, the lion was trying to inflict powerful strikes with its claws and bite down on the wolf. Their struggle was too fast for Liu Feng to keep up with.

This carried on for hours before anyone showed signs of slowing down. Liu Feng remained hidden in a nearby bush, watching everything unfold before his eyes, almost holding his breath.

He began his hunting in the morning. As there was very little sunlight here, and he couldn't determine the time but he felt it was already midday.

Both animals soon began to slow down. He could now observe their battle easily.

They were both riddled with injuries. The Lion's neck was covered with bite marks. It was nearly completely coated in blood. The Gale wolf's body was covered with claw marks. Its fur has been stained red with the Lion's blood.

Soon the winner was determined, and the Gale Wolf came out on top. The badly injured lion perished soon after, and the Gale Wolf was left standing. Although it had won the battle, it had suffered severe damage.

Liu Feng intended to kill the wolf, but he felt it wasn't the right moment yet but as if feeling his murderous intent, the wolf turned towards him.

Although he had hidden under a bush, he had the impression that the wolf was staring at him.

Baring its sharp fangs, that wolf rushed towards him without wasting a single second. Liu Feng realized he had no option but to fight. He swiftly assumed a combat stance with his weapons.

Learning from his previous mistake, he had chosen one dull weapon and a sharp long wooden branch this time.

The wolf was already close by and tried to throw the sharp branch at it, but he was smashed into a nearby tree. His weapons all dropped to the ground. On his body, there were several wounds. Blood was pouring from his head, and he felt like a number of his ribs had been shattered. He coughed some blood up.

Despite his efforts to conserve some DPs, Liu Feng realized that now was not the moment.

He groaned in pain, "System, use 10 DP to strengthen me."

[Ding. Consumed 10 DP to improve the physique of the host.]

[Ding. The host has hit the limit of a mortal and to become stronger, you have to cultivate. Please utilize 1000 DP the next time to improve the quality of your Physique.]

He felt as if electricity pouring through his body as soon as the buzz of the notifications stopped. He felt he was full of energy. His wounds began to heal fast, and he was able to get up.

The wolf glared at him, and rushed towards him, eager to finish its target as soon as possible. Despite it being in terrible shape, it felt that a human with no cultivation was not his opponent.

It was not some wild beast; it was already considered a low-level demon beast. In Human terms, it already has the power of the early stages of Qi Condensation Cultivator.

Apart from their power, the biggest distinction between wild creatures and demon beast was their intellect. After becoming a demon beasts, their intellect grows, and some high-level demon beasts can even comprehend languages. The other creature was a Crimson Lion. It was also comparable to a low-level demon beast.

Both of these beasts had a chance to break through a few months ago. They were typical wild monsters before crossing the threshold and leveling up. They had already battled countless times before, but there had never been a clear winner.

This time, they were seeking a way to break past their bottleneck and enter the next stage. Whoever wins the battle will be able to level up if they can absorb the other's essence.

This was its natural instinct, but this random human out of nowhere was now attempting to kill him and take advantage of the situation. It felt threatened when it saw this human rise again, and it intended to kill him as quickly as possible.

Liu Feng reacted with a blow with his right hand. He didn't have anything in his hands at the moment so he relied on physical strength alone. He had prepared many little wooden pieces to defend himself, but these were also knocked away from him when he was thrown.

The wolf and man duo soon began their fierce fighting. The wolf was already too quick for him. His furs appeared to be impenetrable. Liu Feng, on the other hand, was struggling. His clothing that remained was almost ripped off. Several bite marks covered his upper torso. He had his flesh deeply bitten in several places.

After a few minutes of fighting, he had the upper hand when the wolf slowed down. Liu Feng pushed him to the ground with his legs, then seized its neck and began to choke it with both of his arms. Soon the wolf breathed its last.

"System, gather the Dao Fragments." He exclaimed, panting. Despite his excruciating pain, he continued onward. He was aware that wolves always travel in a pack. There must be more wolves or possibly other creatures nearby.

[Ding. Collected 26 Lesser Grade Dao Fragments and several Inferior Grade Dao Fragments.]

[Inferior Grade Dao Fragments collected will be automatically converted into Dao Points.]

He soon dragged his body towards the dead Crimson Lion's body, where he gathered the Dao Fragments.

The benefit he received, was enormous to him, but he suffered greatly too. He wasted no time in moving towards his base. As he left the scene, he noticed some movements in the bush. Several wild beasts were headed toward the wild battleground.

"Perhaps they'll start another battle to see who gets to have the bodies, Sigh~."

"Well, who cares...", He only wanted to earn his DP and the Dao Fragments, but he believed he had earned enough for the time being given his current condition.

He did not go straight to his base; instead, he wanted to clean himself first.

He soon arrived at the pond and decided to take a bath. He sat on a stone slab and dipped his body into the water after cleansing himself.

"I need to take care of my clothes.", Liu Feng was concerned. As a guy accustomed to living in the modern world, he thought that if he returned to earth wearing this clothing, people would call him names and throw objects at him. He even felt that a homeless person dresses better.

As he was having these thoughts, he quickly checked his status.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
