Soon after, Liu Feng began searching deep into the forest, but he found no big animals, as expected. He saw a few small creatures but chose not to hunt them. He'd never considered mindless murdering and hunting just to gain Dao Points and the main thing was - there was no fire to cook them.

Liu Feng tried to use some wooden branches and leaves to light up a fire previously but contrary to his expectations he failed multiple times.

He soon walked into the forest's inner region. He returned to the location where he had previously killed the tempest wolf. There were obvious signs of animal fighting here.

'Perhaps those animals fought after I left,' he concluded.

Soon he encountered a few beasts. When engaged in a battle, he discovered the errors in his martial techniques, as he had hoped.

He was unable to use both of his martial techniques simultaneously. The forest was becoming an obstacle to his movement technique. This gave him some insights regarding his techniques.

After a few hours of repeated practice and simultaneously practicing both of his martial techniques, he felt he had improved again but his status still said otherwise.

In the meantime, he had hunted three more wild wolves in the forest, trapping them one at a time. He obtained a lesser grade Dao Fragment from each of them.

Although the battles were not too difficult for him, they were also not very easy. He suffered some minor injuries to his body.

He soon returned to his base and resumed his exercises. Combining all of his knowledge and insights with his moves. He kept repeating his martial arts methods, and eventually, he noticed a change.

He quickly became swifter. The claw attack intensified. As his motions became more fluid, he began to unleash deadly force with his claw attacks more regularly.

Soon His motions were no longer uncomfortable, and his actions were becoming more natural. He eventually stopped practicing and looked at his status with a smile on his face.

The first thing he noticed was that all of the martial arts skills were at the Intermediate level.

Aside from that, he observed that all of the Dao Points that he had spent to create the methods had been replenished, and he had received around 300 Dao Points by killing the wolves. He was overjoyed.

"Oh, it appears today is my birthday," he thought, later noticing that his age section had been updated from 17 to 18. He was certain that when he checked his status in the morning his age was still 17.

'The system is well advanced in this case as well; I guess this body of mine was born around this time.' He had a little smile on his face, but he felt sad when he thought about his condition.

"haahhh….", He sighed.

"I'm not asking for a cake, but some sweets would have been nice to have on my birthday, as well as some meat," he was almost sick of his fruit-only diet.

He decided to take a little break. He soon heard some sounds. This prompted him to investigate what was going on outside.

He crept under a nearby bush and turned to face the sound. He noticed several people who were shackled by chains and had several injuries. They were restrained in a horse carriage.

He appeared to recognize a couple of them after carefully observing several of them.

He was perplexed. He didn't know anyone here. He only saw humans after arriving in this world when they were still fighting those bats.

After carefully thinking, he realized these folks were among the miners he had previously worked with.

'It appears they already escaped at the moment those bats attacked and were kidnapped by them.' Liu Feng concluded.

A tall guy came before those chained people out of thin air just as Liu Feng was studying the group of individuals. Six other individuals soon followed him.

"Boss, You sure are one fantastic man!"

"I'm not sure how you got this amazing Array Formation, but its abilities are simply divine. Even though I've been a part of this group for more than a year, it never ceases to amaze me."

"Clearly, our hideout is behind this, but no one can tell just by looking at it," a small guy stated.

"Oi, Brother Liang, stop it," one other man said.

"Every time we go out for a job, you say the same thing again and again. Try to change things up a little." He cracked a joke as he started to laugh out loud.

"Don't you think so, Brother Xiaoli?" I can't tell the difference even when I'm this close to the entrance, and I live here."

"That's true though", Everyone nodded in agreement.

"See...everyone thinks that",

"I was simply joking, don't take anything too seriously." The man in brown clothing, brother Quan's brother defended himself.

"Come on, Brothers. It is time for us to depart. We will sell these slaves to the black market in Gale City and return, which will take at least 5 days." said the tall hefty guy. He was the boss of this gang.

"Don't forget about the other job, either. According to the information I obtained, the carriage of the Wei Family would travel through the neighboring mountain range in 7 days with some good products. We should be prepared to greet them", the leader said with a hint of greed in his eyes.

"Since he dared to underestimate us, he got what he deserves!", the Boss had a devious grin on his face.

Liu Feng exhaled a sigh of relief when they departed. He waited for their departure and then walked toward their secret hideout.

'I won't go inside for the time being, but let me check out the formation they were discussing.'

'They'll be returning in five days, so I'll have plenty of time. I'm curious to see whether I can harvest Dao Fragments from the Array Formation.'
