Liu Feng dashed to the centre of the cave, where there was more space, to gain an edge.

He channelled his qi throughout his entire body, covering all vital spots as well as his arms and legs, thanks to his proficiency in circulating Qi, his physical stats were enhanced up a notch.

He began to plan his attack after switching his weapon from claws to the sabre he had previously picked up.

He wanted to put his sabre skills to use even though he had never used it before, Liu Feng reasoned that it would be best to examine the quality of the weapons first.

Although he felt more at ease with the claws, he believed the sabre was the best weapon he possessed to test his opponent. It was still unclear if the weapons were strong enough to withstand this creature's attacks or sharp enough to pierce its skin.

The weapons appeared to be of excellent quality, and the sabre felt fairly heavy, but Liu Feng believed it was doable.

There was also one thing about these formidable creatures that had been bothering him for quite some time. Liu Feng believed that these high-level creatures were smarter than they appeared to be.

Whether it was the wolf or the lion he had seen previously, or this gigantic serpent in front of him, all were behaving in ways that no natural animal should.

'I should have considered this before picking a fight with it, but I don't think it should have let me leave here peacefully.'

"Oi...Oi....look here!!", Liu Feng began to yell at the snake in an attempt to get its attention.

When the green python noticed this, it increased its pace and fired at him like an arrow, aiming for his head.

Before this, Liu Feng was still keeping a distance of fifteen to twenty metres, but the snake covered ninety per cent of the distance in the blink of an eye.

'Fast!!' Liu Feng was ready, and he ducked its strike. Liu Feng took a step to the left and slashed its neck with his blade. But the python deflected it with a quick flick before it reached its skin. It then turned back to bite Liu Feng, but it failed again since Liu Feng had already taken a step back after realising his strike had not succeeded.

After failing to bite Liu Feng twice, the python turned over and rushed at him, attacking with its tail. It was working like a whip. The earth shook with each strike of its tail. Each of its attacks was powerful, flexible, and quick.

Liu Feng was still attempting to determine the optimum attacking spot on the python's body, but it was clever as well. It was moving its body around, making it difficult for Liu Feng to attack. Eventually, none of his blows reached its body.

After chasing the python about for a while and being chased by it, Liu Feng realised the importance of stamina. Even though he thought he had already overcome virtually all of the elite athletes from his former world, his stamina was still far behind his opponent.

All of his physical stats were ordinary when compared to a creature of this nonsensical world. All of his new clothing was ragged, with a few rips and dirt all over them. The python, on the other hand, appeared to be in good shape. This irritated Liu Feng a little.

Throughout the fight, just as Liu Feng dodged its attacks ninety-nine per cent of the time, not a single one of his attacks landed on the serpent too.

He was practically exhausted from the running around, which surprised him given his recent physical changes. He began to pant as he retreated to a safe distance.

'Agghh… I'm out of options now. I have to utilize that technique.', feeling that he will not win this battle if the fight drags on, he dissipated all the Qi he was channelling throughout his body and began to direct his remaining Qi towards his legs strengthening them to the limit.

With enough Qi centred on his legs, he shot at the python like a bullet, aiming for a killing blow. He felt a terrible pain in his legs as if all of the bones in his leg had started to crack.

The python was caught off guard by this unexpected demonstration of tremendous agility, but it made little difference. It extended its jaws to swallow him whole, but this blunder caused the end of its existence.

Liu Feng began to chuckle after seeing this situation, a wonderful but dangerous plan sprang to his mind. He channelled a portion of his Qi into his hands and extended it to his weapon by turning the sabre upside down.

Surprisingly, the weapon possessed strong Qi conductivity. Just as he was within reach, Liu Feng stabbed the sabre into the python's lower jaw and pushed it to the ground with his full strength.

This manoeuvre spent a lot more Qi than he had hoped, as he was running short on Qi reserves after the strike. While analysing the entire battle, he started circulating Qi utilising his [The Eight Trigram Dao Convergence Scripture].

The python was now confined in one location, unable to escape. It wasn't able to move its mouth. The python was straining to break loose with its full body. Unable to free itself, it used its tail to strike Liu Feng but it was in vain as he retreated out of its grasp.

Soon after, Liu Feng felt a sense of serenity throughout his body, particularly in his thoughts. As though he had realised his flaws during his fight with the serpent. The bottleneck he had sensed earlier had loosened, and he felt as if his dantian was brimming with boundless energy.

During this time, the extensive battle against the python, his usage and understanding of Qi, and the techniques he had used helped Liu Feng to break through to the next stage of cultivation.

Liu Feng drew both of the claws out of his scabbard and armed them. Liu Feng felt that he was now ready for the finishing blow.

He reached for the python's neck in an instant, using [Beast God's Movement Art] and his surging Qi. He blasted three successive claws-like Qi projection attacks on its neck with the [Beast God's Claw Art], and he was almost out of his abundant Qi. The good news was that the python had already been defeated by his strike.

It had already been chopped into two neat pieces by Liu Feng's third strike. The body was one, and the head was the other, with a fractured lower jaw and a piercing incision in the centre.

He sat down near the freshly killed python, exhausted, and inspected the body. This was a tremendous challenge for him since he wanted to seem like an expert in front of his first subordinate.

Liu Feng was eager to collect Dao fragments from it, but he noticed Zhang Yan staring at him with his mouth wide open.

'It seems he was shocked to see my moves!!!', he was satisfied with the reaction.

"Hey, Zhang Yan, you alright? It's safe now you can come out of the cell."

"Currently you are not in good condition but I think you can move around fine. Go clean yourself and look for clothes. Try to find anything valuable and let me know. Those will be my compensation for me wasting my time here."

Liu Feng asked Zhang Yan with a disinterested expression, who was still standing near the entrance of the cell where he was being held.

"As you wish, Boss!", He replied.

He went away after responding to Liu Feng to search for a way to clean himself.

Just as he began to leave the scene, Liu Feng laid his palm on the python's body and muttered inwardly, "System, collect the Dao fragments."

[Ding! Several Dao Fragments were detected. Do you wish to collect them?]

"Yes.", Liu Feng replied instantly.

As many notifications began to emerge in front of his eyes, it appeared that the glimmer of life on the corpse of the deceased python diminished.

Zhang Yan, on the other hand, discovered some buckets of water nearby and began to clean himself off while thinking about the entire scene he had witnessed.

He was in wonder as he observed the entire battle. In this world, where all the youths his age strive to be sword immortals, weapons like draggers, claws, and so forth are regarded as less honourable. They were only employed in combat by mortals and wicked cultivators.

But the figure in front of him was nothing like that. A little spark of fire formed inside his cold heart as he watched the elegant claw movements. He desired to be as strong as the man in front of him. He wanted to master the fantastic claw technique he had just witnessed.

Although he was still contemplating if becoming a subordinate of the man in front of him was the right decision before, witnessing him battle this huge python made it evident that this young man in front of him was not as simple as he appeared.

'Although he appears to struggle initially, it quickly becomes a one-sided massacre.'

'He might have been testing the python's abilities at the time.'

'Although I'm not hundred per cent sure, he could be a young master of a prominent clan or an immortal sect,' Zhang Yan murmured.

Although he was relieved that he now had powerful backing, he was nonetheless concerned about his sister.

Hey Readers, Here's another chapter. I was hoping you guys could give me some feedback on the story as I feel the last two chapters, mostly the interactions between our mc and his subordinate were not up to the mark.

Cheers,,,
