60 Volume 3 Episode 10: Clear

[ Warehouse, Undisclosed Location ]

A hooded man with binoculars was surveying the top of the warehouse when he noticed three vehicles approaching. He quickly took out the walkie-talkie and spoke.

"They're here, over. "

A brief period of silence and heavy breathing was heard from the other side, before they replied in a monotone and cold voice.

"Roger that."

The man on the roof didn't respond and the conversation ended right there.

The vehicles stopped in front of the warehouse, as if they were waiting for something.

Suddenly, the doors of the warehouse opened, and the vehicles rushed inside as fast as they could.

"What happened?"

An old man walked towards the vehicle. He had a cane on his hand to support himself, so he was walking slowly.

The doors of the vehicles opened, and multiple men in black got out, with one of them carrying an unconscious and injured man.

The old man looked at the body and squinted his eyebrows. He then looked at the rest of the men and asked.

"Who did this?"

The men looked at each other and one of them stepped forward to answer the question.

"Sir, um, it was a high schooler."

"What did you say?"

The old man was staring at the man who answered his question with a face of surprise and intrigue. He couldn't believe what the man had just told him.

The man was a bit flustered by the interest shown by the old man, but quickly repeated his words to not offend him.

"I said it was a high schooler who beat 'Mr. Luis' up, Mr. Red."

The man repeated his answer once again and the old man, Mr. Red was surprised once again before returning to his normal, cold face. He checked the injuries of Mr. Luis for a while, and then pointed to one of the rooms on the upper floor, indicating the men in black to take the body there. The men quickly grabbed the body and ran up the stairs.

"Wait."

The words of Mr. Red stopped the men on their tracks. They turned their head towards the old man, wondering why he asked them to stop.

"Where are his weapons?"

The men looked at each other, and one of the men searched the Mr. Luis' whole body, but turned up empty handed.

"He doesn't have any weapons on him?"

Mr. Red furrowed his brows at the nodding of the man in black.

"Did Mr. Luis choose not to take it with him because he thought he was fighting a normal teeneger, or…."

Before Mr. Red could finish his analysis, a loud notification ringtone rang from his phone, interrupting his thoughts. He took out the phone from his pocket, looked at what the notification was and his eyes widened almost immediately.

He then turned back quickly, facing the men in black who were carrying the injured Mr. Luis.

"ATTENTION MEN! WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW, LEAVE IT ALL! THE RIVALDO FAMILY IS IN CRITICAL DANGER! GATHER EVERYONE QUICKLY, WE HAVE NO TIME TO WASTE!"

Mr. Red exclaimed loudly and about two dozen men wearing dark clothes came out of the warehouse. They were wearing bulletproof vests and carried firearms. Mr. Red nodded at the men, and they quickly departed the warehouse, leaving for the Rivaldo mansion.

"Mr. Blue, leave Mr. Luis here and come with us. We need all the help we can get."

Mr. Blue, who was carrying Mr. Luis, nodded at the order and carefully put him down on the floor, as he got ready for the mission.

Mr. Red walked outside, looking up at the sky. He was already too old, so he couldn't take part in these missions anymore. He could only give out orders. That was all he was worth for.

"How I wish I could.."

He sighed deeply, as the rest of the men in black ran past him and got in their cars, rushing towards the mansion.

[ The Rivaldo Mansion ]

"How the hell are you still alive?"

One of the bodyguards still alive stared at the young man standing in front of him in horror. He had watched him evade bullets and bombs, and even a sniper shot while simultaneously being in close combat with multiple enemies. It was such a Miraculous incident that he had at one point thought he was dreaming. No human could achieve such things, not even in their dreams.

And yet, he still turned out to be alive and well. It was as if he was being favoured by the heavens. Lin pointed his gun at the bodyguard who had already been disarmed by him just moments ago.

"Goodbye."

Lin pulled the trigger, and the bullet shot through the bodyguard's skull, killing him instantly.

Having completed his kill, Lin looked around for signs of his target. He had already killed Thomas, but he still hadn't taken care of Hank Rivaldo.

"System, how many kills does that make?"

[ That makes eighty seven kills boss. ]

The system confirmed the number of kills, and the transparent screen popped up with the number eighty seven in bright red colors written on it.

"That might be a new record for me."

Lin rejoiced at beating his own personal record, which made him feel a bit weird.

Back in his original world, he was nowhere near this aggressive. He wouldn't even think of getting on anyone's bad side. He was embarrassed about himself that he did not even have the courage to take on anyone else.

But now, he felt like he was having the time of his life, but at what cost?

He didn't know what he had to exchange for such a life. He didn't know how enjoying murdering people would change his future.

'Answers. I shouldn't forget what my goal here is.'

Lin forced himself to control his bloodlust. He was getting a bit too out of hand. Perhaps maybe even to the point that he might not remember his end goals. He didn't want that to happen.

Forgetting your goals would only make you a shell of a human being. Lin was a shell of a human before he arrived in the magical world, and he definitely didn't want to go back to that state.

'I was almost consumed by my bloodlust. I have to be careful and not lose focus.'

Lin started concentrating, and soon enough, his mind became a lot more clearer.

"System! Send me the location of Hank Rivaldo, quick!"
