Yone's Fate.

Several minutes had passed since Charlotte forcefully took Tom and left the village, yet Yone couldn't help but narrow his eyes and look at his mother's lifeless body.

Was he sad?

Angry?

Did he feel a deep sense of guilt for being powerless and unable to protect the people who raised him?

No!

Yone has never felt such things since the beginning.

It isn't cause he is a heartless demon who would never acknowledge people who enormously helped him. Well, to be fair that was indeed the case, but not in this scenario.

Yone couldn't help but dryly cough thinking about this matter.

He gazed deeply at Lilia's body and couldn't help but frown.

The only reason he didn't show emotions of anger, despair and all of those that followed to complete his act as the perfect son and keep on going with having his parents' protection was simple.

Yone felt something was deeply wrong with this event. Precisely, everyone behaved weirdly, it was as if all of them were waiting for a certain moment to act upon and hence began their role.

He didn't know what was happening but felt he would soon find out.

As he was deep in thought about his current situation and the potential threat to his life, Lilia's body slightly moved.

Yone frown deepened as soon as he sensed the subtle movement in Lilia's body, he racked his brain as he started thinking about countless possibilities where his life could be saved.

Even though his past reactions were akin to someone who didn't care about their life given his nonexistent fear, Yone didn't really feel that way.

Would someone who sought Immortality accept death with an emotionless face?

The answer to that question is simple.

The only reason he didn't react was his powerless mortal body; he was too weak to resist, so he accepted his fate. However, after racking his brain for minutes, searching for a way out of this situation, he eventually concluded that he did.

As to what that solution was? Well, that was related to the next events and whether they went according to his calculations or not.

"Haa...haaaa...Arghhhh," Lilia struggled to take a breath of fresh air, her lungs almost bursting out from the intensity of her actions.

After what seemed like an eternity for her, she finally breathed a mouthful of fresh air, her pale face regaining some of its redness and vitality.

Nonetheless, none in the room even bothered to look at her, all of the elder's focus was instead on the man standing close to the door that just hid his longsword on his spatial ring without hurry.

As for the remaining children who still didn't take the test, they showed a brief look of admiration and reverence to the woman lying on the ground and quickly shifted their gaze to David.

Suddenly, a deep voice rang in the room breaking the silence that lasted for minutes already.

"Master, the show has ended and everything went according to plan,' Daniel reported with the utmost respect as he knelt on one knee, he then shifted his gaze towards a dazed kid and added with caution," What does the master plan to do with that thing?"

The old man didn't even bother to utter Yone's name as he looked at him with disdain filling his eyes.

People with no talent whatsoever in the martial arts world didn't amount to anything, at most, they were good slaves who took care of various daily necessities for the house and filled the world.

As for Yone, his situation was even worse than those of commoners in the eyes of Daniel. After all, he was the son of David, one of the three swords of their organization, if it was already proven that he had no talent, then his very existence would be a humiliation to them and none would dare keep him around in fear that it might tarnish their reputation.

David didn't even bother looking at his son who seemed to be in a state of shock at the side, with a wave of his hand, he uttered," Just kill him."

He ordered as he briefly looked at Lilia who sat cross-legged in the distance recuperating her injuries, various thoughts collided in his brain as he asked straightforwardly," Lilia, if you want to choose another fate for your son, I'm all ears."

Everyone in the village believed David was the highest authority in their organization. However, only a handful knew the truth.

Lilia whose hair was disheveled and her body covered with blood and bruisers couldn't help but roll her eyes at his words, she felt deeply annoyed by David's current question, on the outside however, didn't show any emotions.' She lightly nodded and closed her eyes, focusing on her recovery as she circulated the spiritual qi in her body.

Killing enemies was acceptable to him, but anything beyond that was not something he was willing to do. Moreover, his current position had little to do with David; he was simply the village head. Their village had been annexed long ago by the Black Rose, which was why he was now carrying out their orders.

The guard didn't dare disobey his master's orders and instantly dragged Yone out of the room, he was planning on finishing the job in the nearby jungle, far from any potential prying eyes.
