240 Chapter 240: Fish's Circle of Friends (Edited)

It was Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class in the afternoon and no one dared to be late, besides, the Transfiguration classroom and the Great Dining Hall were only on the first floor, so most students went straight to the classroom after lunch and stayed there.

"What do you think Professor Dumbledore called Fish for?"

The Gryffindors and Ravenclaws, who were bored before class, started talking in small groups, and the only topic of conversation, aside from last night's dueling club and the still-unsolved Chamber of Secrets, was Fish.

"I don't know, but it's a good thing, isn't it? Fish seemed pretty excited about dragging Professor Dumbledore along."

"I was sitting next to Fish and I heard Professor Dumbledore say something to him about "Fawkes" and "time's up." said Lavender Brown, who was sitting next to Fish at lunch and received a plate of meatballs, with a bit of trepidation.

"Fawkes? do we have someone called that at school?"

"I think there's someone in Hufflepuff with that name, but he was in the Great Dining Hall, so it's not him."

"Probably some magical creature again?"

Harry, who was taken by Fish to see the world in the Forbidden Forest, guessed and got unanimous approval from everyone.

As the group boredly speculated on what kind of creature Fawkes was, the bell rang and Fish pushed open the classroom door and entered with Professor McGonagall.

As usual, Fish caught everyone's attention as soon as he appeared, but unlike usual, this time everyone's eyes were on Fish's head.

In his thick silver-gray hair, a red-colored chick took pride of place.

The young phoenix is growing rapidly and in a short time it has grown all its feathers and is a beautiful shaggy red mass.

Together with Fish, it made the little witches in the classroom and turned motherly and exclaimed.

"Hush."

Professor McGonagall hushed the commotion and then looked at the kitten with a grimace.

"Hurry up and get back to your seat, it's time for class." urged Professor McGonagall, giving Fish a pat on the back with her hand.

Fish then obediently ran back to his seat, with Fawkes on his head.

Although Fish had been a good listener throughout the lesson and had completed all the class assignments, Professor McGonagall was still very unhappy with the transfiguration lesson.

The cat and phoenix combination was so striking that the other students seemed distracted during the class, occasionally diverting their attention to Fish and the phoenix on his, even though Professor McGonagall docked points to several of them.

The bottom line was that he couldn't blame Fish for this, after all, he had brought Fawkes into the classroom with Professor McGonagall's permission.

"Class dismissed!"

When the bell rang, Professor McGonagall, who was very unhappy with the results of the class, simply doubled the original assignment.

If you don't listen well in class, you make up for it with the amount of homework you have to do afterwards.

After Professor McGonagall assigned the homework and left, everyone didn't even have time to complain about the sudden increase in homework, but instead surrounded Fish directly.

"Fish, when Dumbledore came to you at lunchtime, was that what it was about?" asked Ron curiously, looking at the furry red bird on Fish's head, "What kind of bird is that?"

Bending down, Fish picked Fawkes up by his head and placed him on the table, as he pulled the fresh white leaves out of his pocket and handed them to Fawkes, he introduced him to the group, "This is Fawkes, a nya phoenix."

"Caw..."

Fawkes gave a clear shout, waving to the students around him.

"Phoenix!"

All the surrounding students exclaimed, craning their necks to get a clear look at Fawkes' appearance.

Hermione, the smarty-pants, said excitedly, "I read in Hogwarts: History of the School that Dumbledore had a phoenix for a pet!"

"You're talking about Fawkes."

(●ΦωΦ●)

Fish ran his fingers over Fawkes' head and explained, "He just reached nirvana at noon, that's why he's so small now, and Fawkes needs a lot of herbs to feed and grow, that's why I asked Albus to give him to me to raise him for a while nya."

"Doesn't that mean we'll be seeing a Phoenix in the dormitory more often?" Seamus said excitedly, making the other Gryffindors excited, and the Ravenclaw students jealous.

How lucky those Gryffindors were, it wasn't enough for them to have a cat, now they had a phoenix!

The Gryffindor students were very happy with the envious looks they were getting from the Ravenclaws around them....

Indeed, the Fish is the best!

...

The news that Fish had raised a little phoenix spread quickly throughout the school, and everyone rushed to Fish to see Fawkes, who was still a chick.

After all, phoenixes are rare creatures, and not many people have ever seen a young one, but some of the older students have had the pleasure of seeing an adult one.

Colin and Malfoy, for example, took pictures.

It is only to everyone's great regret that, two days after Fish will start looking after Fawkes, the school vacations began and, because of the attack, many people chose to go home for the vacations.

A few stayed, but most left school on the Hogwarts Express, as they had originally planned.

When Fawkes was old enough to fly, Fish found a snow-free day and took him to the Forbidden Forest to meet some of his friends.

It was then that Fish learned that Fawkes knew many of the creatures in the Forbidden Forest, especially the Thestrals, led by Shadow, that Dumbledore rode from time to time, so Fawkes knew them quite well.

Too bad the weather was too cold, the lake was frozen and Fawkes didn't know how to dive, otherwise Fish would take him to meet Kanaloa and the murlocs.

But there was another friend who could introduce him to Fawkes, but before doing so, Fish had to consult with him.

"Fawkes, are you afraid of a basilisk nya?"

?ω?

Although Fish assumed that Fawkes wasn't afraid of the snake's deadly gaze, based on the fact that the phoenix could be reborn, it was important to ask to be sure.

"Car..."

Hearing Fish suddenly mention a basilisk to him, Fawkes was taken aback, but answered Fish's question truthfully.

As Fish had suspected, the basilisk's gaze was ineffective against the phoenix, and even the adult phoenix was no worse than the basilisk in terms of combat power, and while he couldn't kill the basilisk, he wouldn't be killed by either.

"That's great nya!"

Because of Uroboros' racial characteristics, Fish couldn't even introduce him to his friends, and since the only one who wasn't afraid of his eyes, Kanaloa, only lived in the lake, Fish felt sorry for Uroboros, who was alone in the pipe.

Now it was time to introduce him to a new friend.

So Fish grabbed Fawkes, put him on his head and ran to the second floor.

As he ran, he explained to Fawkes above his head, "Fish befriended the basilisk in the castle, now I'll show you to him!"
