32 Unchained

For the briefest of moments, Sebastian could see the man falter.

However, the moment didn't last for long.

The man just emotionlessly fed a new magazine into the gun and aimed it at Sebastian's head.

"How disappointing, I was hoping for a better reaction" Sebastian sighed.

*BANG!*

As a bloody hole was shot through the man's head, the loaded pistol ended up falling onto the table next to Seb this time.

Sebastian felt relieved.

One less annoyance to deal with…

Now all he had to do was grasp the correct timing to break free of his handcuffs and escape.

Sebastian still felt a little puzzled though.

It was one thing if their captor was crazy… but since he was not… why bother kidnapping the two of them?

If he just wanted the two of them dead to spite the Caputos, shouldn't they have taken care of things in a better manner?

How sloppy were they to get located by Damien so quickly…?

Unless… there was something else going on that Sebastian couldn't put his finger on yet.

Sebastian didn't let this discourage him.

Since he had been thrust into this recreation of the past, he would not let a single clue slip through his fingers.

Sebastian wanted answers.

For six whole months, he had lived in fear and alienation.

He would be damned if he still couldn't find out why.

Why his life had been thrust into misery again.

Why did it always have to be him who suffered?

Why! Why! Why! Why! Why!

Thus, he had been restraining himself.

Agony, Madness, Rage and a thirst for Vengeance.

These were the things that he had carried over from the previous two phases.

Something within him had been changed fundamentally.

As the Second-in-command rapidly commanded his men into teams and assigned them missions, Sebastian could feel something bubbling up within him.

It was anticipation.

With a small clicking sound, the handcuffs snapped open.

Freedom.

Sebastian felt his chains losing their grasp over him, in more ways than one.

He found himself grinning with excitement.

Soon, he wouldn't have to restrain himself anymore.

He could let the madness take control.

Sebastian looked around himself.

Only 10 people were left, 11, if he were to include the leader who had just gone to retrieve Sebastian's death sentence from the higher-ups.

Sebastian sneakily slid the M1911 towards himself.

The gun in his hands only had the capacity of 7 bullets.

11 targets, 7 shots.

Challenging, but not impossible.

Some of them would just have to share…

"TEAM GAMMA!"

"YES SIR!"

"Orders have arrived from above. There will also be no reinforcement, our job is to go outside and take down as many of the Caputo scum as we can!"

"YES SIR!"

Seb waited for the next sentence with bated breath. This time, he would strike first.

"About the prisoner… just knock him out for now."

"YES SIR!"

Huh? What's this?

Now that Ronnie was dead, they decided to let him live?

Perhaps they just needed at least one of them dead to spite Damien?

Did this mean he could now go with his original plan of pretending to be knocked out and then find Damien?

Never mind, it didn't matter anymore.

He wasn't going to stop now that he had gotten this far.

One of the mobsters came to a stop behind Sebastian.

Just as the man raised the butt of his gun to deliver a concussion to Sebastian, Sebastian spun around and-

*BANG!*

-shot him right in the chest.

Point Blank.

Before anyone could react, Sebastian shot out of his chair and rushed towards a pillar using the body of the mobster he just killed as a shield.

He was immediately greeted with a shower of bullets, which he luckily managed to avoid using his makeshift cover.

One down, ten to go.

Feeling confident from the successful kill he peeked over again.

Sebastian aimed at the nearest target and pulled the trigger.

*BANG!*

A bloody flower bloomed as his bullet pierced through the mobster's neck.

He could feel the pleasure rush in as the recoil pushed back his shoulders.

This feeling...

It was Power.

Absolute power.

Back when he had been first kidnapped, the captor had seemed so intimidating thanks to the power he held over them.

But now.

It was Sebastian who held it all.

The gun was in his hands.

And he was going to use it.

To KILL!

"HUHUHUHUAHAHAA"

A depraved chuckle escaped his lips.

What a wonderful sensation!

Sebastian repositioned himself before pulling the trigger again.

*BANG!*

This time he missed.

"Tsk!"

Sebastian clicked his tongue in annoyance.

But he understood.

It was only natural.

He was by no means a genius gun combatant.

*BANG!*

He fired again, managing to trade injuries with another mobster.

"AAH!"

Sebastian scurried back behind the pillar to hide from the incoming fire.

He could feel a stinging sensation on one of his arms, a bullet had just brushed past it.

He was just an amateur that had picked up a random gun.

His opponents, on the other hand, were hardened mafia veterans.

While he had managed to take down two and injure another using the element of surprise… once they managed to regain their senses… he was toast.

But desire the hopeless situation, Sebastian was still smiling.

After all, he could just try again when he failed this time.

Where else would he get the opportunity to train his shooting skills in combat with a near-infinite resurrection limit?

Probably, never again.

This was thus the best opportunity he had!

His sanity? Nice joke!

Sebastian peeked once more and unloaded his 3 remaining bullets in the direction of their leader.

*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*

Sebastian cheered as he saw his target fall to the gun in his hands, yet that didn't last for long.

*cough!*

Sebastian raised his hand to see that he had just coughed up blood.

Sebastian looked down at his red-stained shirt which was riddled with holes.

He had been shot as well.
