1 chapter1

It was a beautiful summer day, and Liah had decided to surprise her boyfriend, Philip,at work.

She had packed a delicious lunch for him, complete with his favorite sandwich, some fresh fruit, and a bottle of water. She arrived at his office building, excited to see him and share a nice meal together.

As she walked into the office, she noticed that Philip was sitting at his desk, looking a bit stressed. He was on a conference call, and his face was red with frustration. Liah couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for interrupting him, but she knew he would appreciate the surprise.

She approached his desk, trying to be as quiet as possible, and gently placed the food in front of him. Philip looked up, startled, and his eyes widened as he saw the food. Liah could tell he was embarrassed, and she felt a twinge of regret for not considering his feelings.

"Hey, I brought you lunch," she said, trying to sound casual.

Philip looked around the office, clearly uncomfortable. "Uh, thanks, Liah. That's really nice of you," he said, his voice low and awkward.

Liah could see that he was mortified. She had never seen him like this before, and she didn't know how to react. She started to feel embarrassed herself, wondering if she had made a mistake by bringing the food.

"I didn't mean to interrupt your work," she said, trying to salvage the situation. "I just thought you might be hungry, and I wanted to surprise you."

Philip forced a smile, clearly trying to make the best of an awkward situation. "It's okay, really. I appreciate it. I'm just a bit busy right now."

Liah nodded, feeling a bit hurt. She had only wanted to do something nice for him, and now she felt like she had made a mistake. She started to gather the food, feeling embarrassed and unsure of what to do next.

"No, no, it's fine," Philip said, seeing her discomfort. "Really, it's okay. I'm just a bit stressed out today. Don't worry about it."

Liah hesitated, unsure if she should stay or go. She didn't want to make things worse, but she also didn't want to leave without making things right.

"Are you sure?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Philip nodded, looking at her with a soft expression. "Yeah, I'm sure. Thanks for bringing me lunch. I'll eat it later, when I have a break."

Liah smiled weakly, feeling a bit better. "Okay, no problem. I'll see you later, then."

She turned to leave, feeling a bit disappointed but also relieved that the situation hadn't escalated further. As she walked out of the office, she couldn't help but wonder if she had made a mistake by bringing the food. She had only wanted to do something nice for Philip, but now she felt like she had embarrassed him.

She sighed, feeling a bit down. She hoped that they could talk about it later and clear the air. For now, she just wanted to get out of there and forget about the whole thing.
