23 Yellow Porridge

The cat wordlessly nodded, rubbing his head on her hand. Another cat, black in colouration, appeared as one of Ming's tails did. Ming was White, yet the doppelganger created by his second tail was black. Closing her eyes, she fell into a state of slumber yet again.

"M-Master! The pheonixes' seal..."

The one standing beside Baize nodded.

"It's fine. I can't sense her on this continent, but if she unsealed it, she must be fine. Let's leave."

Scrambling after his master, Baize thought about how unlucky he was.

"How long has it been?"

That was the first thing Xuanmei had asked when she woke up.

"Five days in the spiritual world, not including cultivation."

Xuanmei furrowed her brows.

"Don't worry. Ten days here is just one day outside."

Mentally thanking the cat, she made sure that the tail that had been made into another cat was back, before leaving the inner world.

The, now visible, guardian smiled. Fengxuan's pale skin, like porcelain, reflected light as he mused, "This got slightly more interesting now."

Xuanmei frowned. Waking up under the bed wasn't a thing anyone would like to experience. On a serious note though, ever since leaving, she felt a headache coming on.

Ming sneered, returning to the Pagoda. Wanting to know whatwas going on, Xuanmei went into the Pagoda, walking past the moon gate.

"Like I said! I don't accept her to be in my care nor in the position of my master!"

A fully grown adult in royal blue and gold clothing shouted at Ming, who was in human form, and huffed, crossing his arms.

Ming sighed, a drop of sweat forming on his forehead due to 'unforseen circumstances.' Basically, the man obviously did not want to be under someone younger and more inexperienced.

"Bring me back to Huangzhou!"

"Well, only if you tell me who 'Huangzhou' is."

Making an appearance, Xuanmei sighed and stepped in to diffuse the situation.

Turning towards the person who said such ridiculous things, about to retort about how angry he was that she didn't know his master, (even though she was now his master) he suddenly stopped, mouth wide open.

"Master, you're a girl?"

...

"My name is not Huangzhou, and yes, if it wasn't obvious enough, I am a female."

"But... But..."

Pointing at Xuanmei with obvious shock, the man with sharp and defined facial features furrowed his eyebrows.

"Are you his sister?"

"No."

"Then you're not my master!"

Shooting a nasty look, she sarcastically said, "Well, is your master right now the yellow porridge* or I?"

The man quietened down.

"Fine, I'll stay with you for a while til Huangzhou comes back for me. I seem to have forgotten something though..."

"Right! He wanted me to teach you Martial arts and medicine. Wait, so... He left me alone with a child? This... This so very responsible master..."

... What was even going on at this time?

*(Huang)(Zhou): (Huang), in this case, means Yellow, and (Zhou), in this pronunciation, means porridge. So, combining them, you get Yellow Porridge.
