Marweni: The Demon Rises

The Realms are a small world. Some have bountiful abundants of life, and others are but silent deserts. It’s a monumental task to travel between the boundaries of the worlds as few and far between know even of their existence, let alone of how to travel between them. Well expect one particular Realm, The Abyss. Well, to be precise, The Abyss is not as much a Realm as it is a collection of many Realms. So many in fact that no one knows how deep it actually is, as only the first few have known residents, since the deeper one goes the deadlier it is. Thanks to it, its population isn’t big, but few will dare underestimate a demon, much less one of the Lord who controls the vast scopes of the inhabited Abyss. But One of those demons is far more feared than the rest… And this is his tale. Hello, I am the author. If you like stories were MC is Evil and I mean Evil not someone that is trying to be evil but all his actions are misunderstood, or he was bad and is trying to be good, but everybody thinks he is bad...well you know what I mean. This novel has an Evil MC like Evil Evil. The r18 tag is mainly for violence, torture and psychological manipulation, and yes, there is some sex too. I intended to write this novel until completion (It will not be a daily upload but I will try to put at least 1 a week) unless something happens like me getting arrested because the police was suspicion why I google “How many bones can I break without killing the child” and others thing needed to make a story with some basic in reality. I think by now you get what type of story this is. So a little info as the first few chapters will follow a different character than the MC and it may look like someone put the wrong description but it isn’t. Well enjoy a read and give me some good critique as it is my first novel and I would like to improve. PS: English isn’t my first language, so if you find a mistake hit me in the comment I will fix it

Prologue : Lingering Fear

In the 9th layer of the abyss stands a city where the most demons live, commonly referred to as the Capital. The Capital city is split into several parts. Inside one of them stands the biggest known library that is accessible for normal demons, having the largest collection of all types of books from not only the Abyss, but also from many other sources and realms.

Inside its beautiful hall that was decorated by marble pillars with indigo ornaments is a young man who walks along its corridors between the bookshelves made out of expensive wood enchanted specially to preserve books. He takes a thick history book from one of the bookshelves and sighs, wondering if the task he intends to make is way too unrealistic and places the book in his hands on the stack of books he intends to study. When he is satisfied with their number, he comes to the reading table not far away and places more than 10 books on it. After a closer look, one would see that they are all history books or records from the same era.

He is trying to write his first book about a particular demon from the past, since no one dares to speak about him because every time one does mention his name they will feel as if someone was watching them. Some say it's a curse placed on his name, while others say that he watching even after he died. That is the main reason why nobody dared to write his history and only mention him in passing or use one of his titles if he needed to be mention.

Even he can feel eyes on him every time he writes or says his name. No matter if he is in a public space or alone in the room he can feal faraway gaze on himself watching. But he decided to finish and nothing will convince him otherwise.

He sits down and takes a small book from his breast pocket to take notes. Then he lights a candle and picks the first book from many he will study from the stack on the side. When he opens the book, he realized that it is one about his death. He skips all unnecessary parts written about unrelated events that happened before and finally arrives at the part he wants to study.

Demon's History IV

Year 427 After EC (Establishment of Capital)

On the 11th layer of the Abyss, one of the few inhabited areas is called Mistway. Mistway is a small town with a castle, it's estimated population is around 400 at the time, but exact number wasn't never known.

By the accounts of Lord Idris Gwyntenaid, the first to arrive near Mistway was Lord Velrin Gwel. He made sure that no ambush or trap was set up by their target. After he confirmed the safety of the meeting place, he took out of his inner pocket a small stick, not bigger than his palm that was made of black material resembling metal. On its surface were red demonic symbols. He broke it between his fingers and after not even a minute 13 people arrived.

They didn't say a word since everyone knew the plan and moved according to it. Truly an incredible feat as it is to this day, the only event where all demon lords cooperated, of cures with expectation of one they come to kill.

After invading the castle, they found it empty way to empty. They already expected he would know about their plan but still become more vigilant. They did not find any traps or other inconveniences on the way to the throne room of the castle.

They arrive before giant doors big enough to let two giants through at the same time made out of black metal with an image of two golden demons with a ruby instead of eyes as a decoration on the door. Still a normal size for a demon lord castle, but knowing what was behind it was enough to make their back full of cold sweat.

After a few seconds, Lord Velrin took a step forward and opened the door.

A throne hall, one on the bigger size, appeared before their eyes, pairs of pillars made out of black marble with golden decoration, between them was red carpet that made way all to the back of the room, up the stairs leading to the elevated part on the back of the room, on which was a black and gold throne. There sat a man who didn't look a day over 20. He had short black hair with golden highlights matching his expensive looking clothing. His eyes are black as void with a red pupil and a small smile on his face, giving him a terrifying look.

"Finally, I thought I will die of boredom from all the waiting." The man sitting on the throne said with a bored look.

"Don't expect to survive today." The oldest looking man said, his voice sounding much younger than his appearance would suggest

"Neither will you Dichell, I will make sure you will be the first to die." He said as he stood up from the throne, a smile appearing on his face.

"Shall we start?" He looked at the 14 people before him and they all avoided his gaze.

"Hmm, you sound pretty confident for a death man." Velrin said

"Is there a reason why I shouldn't?"

"Haven't you notice that all of us are here! Even you won't be able to survive!" Young red-haired man said a hint of anger and malice was clearly heard in his voice

"Why so angry? Perhaps some sad memories? Hahaha worry not, I will send you to your wife soon." Mocking him he smiled.

"! " He looked him in the eyes and launched forward with a blade in hand and burning anger in his eyes.

"Danau!" Velrin warning was already too late.

Golden claws pierced through Danau's chest and dark red blood started to float from his wound and shortly after also from his mouth, a red marble stuck between the golden claws was let go and fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

Not a second later he launched on the oldest looking man, his claws aiming for the old man's neck. Thankfully, Dichell reacted quickly and blocked with his short swords. Velrin also took out his blade and swung at him. Others didn't wait either and moved, as some took out their weapons, others moved back and started casting spells.

Not bother with the incoming attack, he parried the sword that was aiming at his neck with his left hand and used the right one to attack the old man's to lock his movement so he can't get outside his attack range. He moved his head slightly to the right and an arrow flew past it. Velrin not giving him time for a break and swung his blade again aiming for a hearth but was parried and stumble back, giving him a second long enough for the man to raise his left hand.

Strange symbols on his left claws shine with faint light and a black wall divided the room in two, splitting the room at such an angle that he cut off all expect for Dichell. It took only a few seconds to break the wall dividing the room but it was too long for Dichell. With all the attention on him, he could not defend against the onslaught of attacks aiming at him. One attack broke through his stance that was now collapsed, forcing him to loss a short sword. Not missing the chance a claw strike right in the neck, as he was falling to the ground the black wall dividing the room vanished thanks to several spells that were cast, yet it was already too late as another golden claw struck Dichell's heart and pierce him through the chest.

"Oh My, you silly old fox. I almost broke my word because of you" He took a short sword from Dichell's other hand and threw it on a red-haired man lying on the stairs to the throne, still bleeding. As the sword hit his spine, a painful cry was heard for a second, and then only silent was left in the room.

"Well, then" He unhurriedly turns his head to others and smiles.

"I will take most of you with me. I swear on my name, Arthur Calonddu."

The battle lasted a day and a half, after it ended only five lords survived. Two died from injuries unable to be healed for an still unknown reason in the next week and the other three ended up with permanent injuries but still winning or better said surviving. As he said, he kept his word.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you will enjoy others chapters too.
