4 Chapter 4: Birth of the Spiders (R)

The moment we enter the lab I start to sweat; it was a combination of the lab from Spectacular Spiderman, Amazing Spiderman and the one in the action comics. Obviously, it was a very big building but that wasn't why I was scared.

It's because of the people here, all at the same time. All the spiders, From Spinneret to Ghost-Spider, Spiderman to Aranya. Yes, Anya Corazon was here, she was also my friend. My annoying overachieving friend who sort of had a thing for Miles.

From what I know she was here for an internship in order to get more experience before applying for Horizon University because she didn't feel adequate enough. 'Why are all my friends nerds, and not any nerds but the nerdiest nerds, the most troublesome nerds, the nerds who solve as many problems as they create,' I wonder.

Not realizing I'd be considered such a nerd myself. As we go through the lab, we walk in front of a massive spider enclosure with only a few spiders in it about twenty-five of them, the really small ones. "Huh some seem to be missing," Anya states causing me to shiver involuntarily.

'Fuck, it's happening, please don't bite me,' I think. Suddenly I notice Peter stiffening up before smacking his neck followed by Cindy, MJ and Elle (Michelle) who where around him tensing up slightly soon after.

I was the only one who noticed the medium sized False Widow looking spider moving between them before it jumped on Lyn and bit her before moving in my direction. It jumps up and spits a web on my hoody.

Out of fear I instinctively do something, I don't know what I did but I trapped it in my pocket or is it a pouch. You know that thing on hoodies at around belly button height you can put your hand in. I notice another spider around Miles, Gwen, and Anya as they discuss something animatedly.

It seemed their conversation was really interesting since they didn't notice the arachnid moving towards them. I wonder what they're talking about considering Miles didn't seem to be talking much. He just stood there with flushed cheeks and a nervous smile as they spoke only saying a few words every once in a while.

Before I could get a closer look to see anything more about it aside from the orange and black colour it carried, it vanished and reappeared around Miles' hand and bit before moving to Gwen and towards Anya. All of them start to scratch where they were bitten a couple seconds later.

I soon notice the other three spiders, since according to the information there were thirty in the enclosure. I'm not sure how I did it, but I replicated what I did after digging around within myself for that feeling from before and caught the spider that bit Miles and the nearest two spiders.

But before I could get the third it bit Harry causing me to wince. It was a dark green almost black wolf spider with a larger than average body. He smacked his shoulder and winced a little before stepping back. After it left, I managed to capture it as well and sighed in relief. Hopefully no one else noticed what was going on. I didn't notice Danny watching me or the bald lady within the lab with a slight smile on her face.

'The spiders, they're born, and I don't know what to expect anymore judging by the situation,' I think remembering what happened in 616 between Peter and Cindy after they were bitten by the same spider. "God if you exist, please don't let this universe be as debauched as the Scope-verse," I mutter under my breath still confused about what happened with that forcefield like thing I was doing.
