4 Chapter 4 - Levinesh

As we shopped, I could see the impact my son's 'little' project had on people.

Many of the helpers, who accompanied their wives or mothers, from time to time waved at nothing as if they were shooing away the mosquitoes that tormented them.

Men, women, and even some teenagers.

Most were having the same behavior.

"This 'augmented reality' thing sounds really cool..." I commented, using our language; "Did you name this new language?" I asked

" It was much easier to do than I imagined, just mirroring the external environment and the user's body on the connection server. Then just apply the interface chosen by the user in the mirrored environment, using the user himself as the center ."

"Every movement the user makes with the body in the real world will be mirrored in the 'mirror environment', and every time the mirrored body touches somewhere in the interface, action will be triggered, as if you were using a computer keyboard. "

"Lastly, I just needed to mirror the interface in the user's field of view. And it looks like he's touching a floating interface in the real world."

"It was easy to do, but it takes a lot more energy than I'd like to admit... And no, I didn't name that language" my son ended his long explanation with the answer to my question.

"Hm..." I shook my head; "You have no idea of a name? It has to have a name. For symbolism..."

"Tomatoes are cheaper this time, I think I'll take more.."

"I can't think of any…" Levi replied as he looked straight into the eyes of one of those 'disgusting men' I talked about earlier.

I could see the sweat coming off the man's forehead as he stood there, staring stupidly at my son, like a startled deer.

"Are you doing something? Some skill maybe? Because it's not normal for a man to sweat so much at one look..." I asked, looking at him; "You could call him Levinesh. Simple and practical.."

"Nothing, I just tried to scare him... Maybe it's some secondary, unconscious ability... Maybe 'killing intent' as they call it in those novels. I'm like a Chinese cultivator, after all. I even have my Dantian. ."

"Wait..what?" Levi started his sentence still looking around, but when he finished, he was looking at me with a look I recognized as 'Where did this stupid idea come from?'

"What, what?" I hit

"In the end, the name.." he replied

"Levinesh."...

"You couldn't think of a better name, could you?" he asked me with a confused face.

"It's simple..." I emphasized and continued forward, ignoring his groan.

"Aren't you going to help me put away the groceries?" I asked as I looked at Levi heading towards his room.

"*Tsk*.." was his reply.

After that, I heard a gust of wind and felt the wind against my body. The box in my hand disappeared.

And when the wind stopped, the boxes with groceries disappeared from the table and floor.

They were now tucked into a corner, mostly empty, with some of them filled with small pieces of wood from the door Levi had broken earlier.

*sigh* I sighed.

I walked to the pantry and saw everything organized; "I told you to help me, not do everything yourself..."

"I was even going to ask what you wanted to eat…" I muttered, knowing he could hear.

"LASAGNA!!" Levi 'screamed' from his room.

"Hehe.."

POV: Levi Brandão

'Having a mother is refreshing...' I thought as I sat in a meditative pose on a rug that looked a little out of place in the middle of my room.

My room was very simple and had few things.

A bed, a table, and a computer. Which in terms of design, was very advanced for the time. At least it was meant to be if this was the land my other self lived on.

If only I hadn't completely merged with his memories. Becoming a new person in the process. I wasn't going to find that strange, to begin.

Even though my family had no problem spending money, my room was pretty empty. Unexpected for someone my age.

My old self in this universe was quite simple. Maybe too simple...

Anyway.. Coming back.

I closed my eyes, focusing my senses on the rug below me. And in an instant, I was in a beautiful, modern office.

Sitting behind a big table, with several screens connected to a computer.

"Why all this scenario?" You can imagine; "Symbolism" Just like my mother said.

Programming in a mental space is easy... at first.

After some time, the functions I wanted to implement on my system started to demand huge lines of code.

The mental zone of this rug was starting to get completely disorganized.

Yes, that's right.. Rug mental zone.

My metahuman ability is very special and allows me to create mind zones in inanimate objects. Where can I or cannot attach mental commands to an object. And that object serves as a bridge to other objects or people.

If the object is connected to some closed or open electrical grid, it is possible to transfer mental zones from one object to another.

Just as it is possible to transfer mental zones from person to person, or from object to person.

I just can't create mental zones directly on people... Which in my opinion is an inconvenient restriction. It even seems that some great Being is having fun with me

But even with that restriction, I can be very powerful, I know. And if I was inclined to be a villain, this planet would definitely be in serious trouble.

But, my first father taught me better. He saved me once and became my hero. I will follow his legacy and become a hero to others as well. Even if they don't know who I am.

And this 'project', as my mother and new father, call MindNet. It's my first step towards becoming a hero all three of us could be proud of.
