11 The Black Beast (Finale)

~Ryu POV~
Looking at the floating redhead in front of me, my instinct is telling me to run away from here as fast as possible, but I know there is no way I would get out of here alive. If anything, what I need right now, is some Deus ex machine, saving me from her.
But I know that something like that would never happen to me. After all, God is not real, and if God is indeed real, I'm sure as hell that he does not love any of us, so he would never try to save me.
But all of that aside, how the hell am I going to win this? No, there is no way I'm winning this. The better question is, how the hell am I going to escape this?
From what I can see from her power, she has telepathy and telekinesis, and she seems to be very powerful with it.
Her telepathy cannot work on me, so that means she only has telekinesis.
It seems that her telekinesis can only work on an inanimate object, or maybe it also works with living things? But she never tries to use it directly, so maybe it just doesn't work on me?
That aside, seeing her lifting all of the objects around the area while floating gives off the feeling that she is some kind of God.
A mutant with telekinesis with God complex? Well, she does have the power to back it up.
Rashomon quickly came out from my cloth and flew toward her, destroying any object coming toward it at the same time. But my Rashomon never reached her, and it was blocked by her invisible shield again.
Her eyes seem to glow red before she throws everything in the area toward me in all directions, and when I mean everything, I mean every fucking thing.
Cars, rocks, trees, light poles, she even lifted the goddamn road and building up and threw it toward me. The amount of damage she is causing right now is like there is a goddamn war here.
She threw all of those things at me; not only that, she used her power to control the ground and lift it toward the air with so much force that I lost my balance.
With me on the ground, all of those objects rain down toward me, Rashomon immediately reacts and try to destroy as many objects as possible, but in the end, my Rashomon is not fast enough to destroy them all.
I had no time to react when a building was thrown at me at an insane speed; Rashomon would, of course, try to stop the building, but the building was too big, and it's also not strong or fast enough to destroy the building.
Out of pure instinct, I put my arm up, trying to guard against the building, while Rashomon under my skin already devoured space, trying to reduce as much damage as possible.
When the building reached me, the shield immediately got broken, and the building hit me in full force, sending me flying who knows how far.
While I was in the air, I quickly came up with an idea and used Rashomon to swing myself in the same direction that I was flying in, trying to get as far away from here as possible.
In other words, I'm trying to escape.
After a couple of seconds of flying, my body finally landed on the ground with a thud while my Rashomon softened the blow from the land.
I slowly try to stand back up, but I cannot move my arms when moving them. When I look at them, my eyes widen. My arms had been broken from trying to block the building. My right arm from elbow down is bending backwards at a ninety-degree angle, while on my left arm, I can see the bone sticking out.
And it's hurt like hell. I was not feeling it before while I was sent flying because of the adrenaline, but now after seeing both of my arms, the pain from it's is unbearable.
I grit my teeth hard while trying to stand up, it hurt so much, and I think there is no way I will be able to use it again.
Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! Pain!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!! PAIN!!
There is so much pain that I want to scream, I feel like I'm going to lose my consciousness at any moment, and if anything, I think I might die from blood loss alone.
''How does it feel? I will make sure you died suffering.'' I can hear a female voice coming from above me, and I clearly know who it is.
I think I might actually die here.
Looking up, I can see that Jean girl looking down on me with disgust, and she seemed to glow some sort of orange aura that seemed to have a shape of a bird.
Just what the hell is her power?
But before any of that, I need to do something with my arms. There is no way I can survive this without doing something with my arms now.
When I thought that, my Rashomon immediately came out, and it started to do something utterly insane; it's started to transform into numerous small spikes and immediately pierce both of my arms.
The next thing I know is the feeling of immense pain, my right arm that was twisting ninety-degree is now moving back into its normal place, and I can feel all the pain of it moving. On my other arm, I can see my Rashomon forcefully push my bone back into my body on the other arms that have my bone stuck out, and I can feel all the pain.
Finally, Rashomon started to attach my bone, not by healing them, but instead, it pierced my bone, and I can feel my Rashomon attaching my bone like a nail on the floorboard, just like before all I can feel is an immeasurable amount of pain.
I now know what my Rashomon is doing, and it's trying to heal me. No, healing would be the wrong word to use.
What my Rashomon is doing right now is not healing, but it's simply forcefully repairing both of my arms. After all, a power that only knows about destruction can never heal.
Both of my arms are still broken; all it did was make my arms functional for now, and all of this happened in a couple of seconds.
In the end, I tried to stay awake, but all of the pain was too much for me, and finally, I fainted.
~3rd POV~
The moment Ryu body hit the ground, something happened.
Jean, still flying, looked down at Ryu with an impassive gaze, her power still activating. The aura that she has right now has the shape of a phoenix. The fight that happened between her and Ryu, if you can call that a fight, only lasted for a few seconds.
The reason that she is so powerful right now is, of course, because she is the host of the phoenix force or only a fraction of it. The majority of the phoenix force is still in space, still travelling toward Earth.
But even with only a fraction of that power, Jean is still a very powerful mutant, and right now, she is going to finish Ryu off.
She prepares to fire an energy blast toward Ryu, but something happens with Ryu body.
The moment she tries to attack Ryu, Rashomon activate on its own, just like every time it senses danger.
Rashomon might not have a mind on its own, but it still has a semi-sentient mind, and it only has one goal, protect Ryu and itself from any danger.
The moment Jean fires her energy blast, Rashomon instinctively opens its mouth and does best. Rashomon starts to devour all of the energy blasts.
Ryu already knows that the more Rashomon eats, the more powerful it's become; it was very clear for him, seeing how Rashomon always get stronger and faster every time it eats flesh.
But what happens if Rashomon eats energy, and not some normal energy either?
What happens if Rashomon eats energy that belongs to a cosmic entity?
Well, just like every time Rashomon eat something, it gets more powerful, and this time much more powerful.
But what does that mean? We all know that, no matter how weak you are, you will become much more powerful the moment you obtain cosmic power, and if you already have power, that power will become even more powerful, and the same thing can be said with Rashomon.
But Rashomon is not some normal power, and it's a power that has a mind of its own. It might not be a full sentient being, but it has enough intelligence to be considered an animal, so what will happen to it?
Simple, Rashomon will start to evolve.
Just like how the Celestials used their power to evolve humans into mutants, the same thing would happen here.
Rashomon size starts to increase, but Jean seems not to notice this, or maybe she doesn't care about it. That is why she continues to fire her energy blast, and the more she fired, the more Rashomon ate.
Finally, after ten seconds, Jean stopped her attack and looked at Ryu's body with wide eyes. Instead of the ashes of Ryu body, what she sees, is a black dragon-like animal that seems to glow crimson aura, with blood-red eyes that seem to stare directly at her soul.
The area around the beast seems to be distorted, like even space itself was being destroyed by simply the beast's existence.
The beast is, of course, none other than Rashomon.
Silently, Rashomon starts to fly around Ryu body and with a flash of crimson light, Jean try to stop it by using her power, but it is futile. Finally, after the light dies down, Ryu body is gone, like it was never there in the first place.
Jean eyes widened, seeing this causing her power to go down and causing her to faint immediately from the over used of her power.
This might seem to be insignificant in the universe, but this is simply the beginning of the story of the end of all things.
Just like how in all of the story, a phoenix cannot exist without a dragon.
One represents life, while the other represents death.
One represents creation and rebirth, while the other represents destruction and demise.
One represents good, while the other represents evil
Some could say that one cannot exist without the other, but that balance will be destroyed this time. Only one side can come on top.
Some would say, in a story, it would be good to win in the end, but this time no matter how they try, evil will win and consume all things like a hungry beast.
But that is a story for another time.

A/N
Look at that, and the first arc is finished, and this is just nothing more than one big prologue.
It's established, the theme of the story, the personality of the MC and what kind of story this is.
I was thinking of making a dedicated chapter explaining the theme of the story and the personality of the MC, but I decided not to do it at the end.
Or should I still do that? Let me know.
As for the next arc, it will be the first main story arc.
I am not going to spoil you on anything.
But the next arc is called, ''What Come After Death Is Decay''
Also, I will be taking a two-day break to plan the story properly, so be patient with me, please.
