25 Mary’s Confession

Christopher was suddenly struck by a realization: he could hear the sounds emitted by the Optimus, even in the vacuum of space. This revelation left him in awe and disbelief.

The absence of a medium for sound propagation in the near-vacuum of space should have rendered such auditory experiences impossible. Yet, here he was, hearing the unmistakable sounds of the Optimus with remarkable clarity.

Recalling a news report he had come across before, Christopher remembered reading about signals captured by the Voyager spacecraft, signals that could be converted into audible frequencies. It dawned on him that space wasn't entirely devoid of sound after all.

While space lacked the necessary molecules for conventional sound transmission, it wasn't a perfect vacuum. Sparse ions and particles allowed for the propagation of electromagnetic vibrations, essentially enabling sound to travel in a different form.

The solar system, teeming with ions generated by phenomena like the solar wind and coronal emissions, provided ample opportunity for sound waves to exist.

This newfound awareness amazed Christopher. He realized that his ears possessed an extraordinary ability to detect these cosmic vibrations, opening his senses to the symphony of the universe.

Experimenting further, Christopher tuned into different frequencies, marveling at the cacophony of celestial sounds that filled his ears.

Amidst the cosmic noise, he found solace in the serene melody of "My Heart Will Go On," a poignant reminder of the beauty amidst the chaos.

Meanwhile, Mary's exhilaration knew no bounds as she tapped into her newfound ability to control the Optimus with her mind. With childlike glee, she frolicked amidst the stars, effortlessly manipulating the colossal machines and reveling in her newfound strength.

"It's incredible! I feel like I'm invincible, lifting these massive meteorites," Mary exclaimed, her excitement palpable.

After spending some time outside, Christopher began to feel the discomfort of holding his breath for too long. Gesturing to Optimus, he silently communicated his desire to return inside.

Responding to his request, Optimus transformed into a heavy truck, offering Christopher a way back in. With a sense of relief, Christopher settled into the driver's seat, ready to continue their journey through the cosmos.

Christopher reverted to his normal state and instantly felt the biting cold. Thankfully, the integration of the Spider-Man gene saved him from the instant death that would have befallen him in his previous state.

Swiftly, he sought refuge in the car.

As the car door sealed shut, Optimus efficiently replenished the oxygen supply.

Taking a deep breath, Christopher felt a surge of comfort.

The partition between the driver's seat and the front passenger seat descended.

Concerned, Mary asked, "Christopher, are you okay, you look tired?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Christopher reassured with a smile.

Despite the recent discomfort, he harbored no regrets for the daring feat. The exhilaration lingered, making him reluctant to leave.

"Thank God," Mary sighed in relief.

"We'll take a spin around the moon's surface for a while and then head back," Christopher suggested.

Mary nodded, "Sure, it's up to you."

The moon's surface, flatter than grasslands and deserts, allowed Christopher to drive at an impressive speed....

The heavy trucks rampaged, navigating obstacles with ease due to the Optimus' substantial mass, rendering them impervious to damage.

"Ah..."

"It's so thrilling, go faster."

"Christopher, there's a slope ahead. Let's rush over and see how high we can fly."

Mary, overcome with excitement, screamed intermittently and offered bold suggestions.

Christopher was left speechless by some of Mary's ideas.

Mary even suggested writing massive characters on the moon's surface, and under her annoying insistence, and with an idea to see the mech's fighting power in space Christopher reluctantly agreed.

Assuming control of Optimus, they soared thousands of meters above the moon's desolate landscape. With precision, Optimus unleashed its pulse cannons, sculpting Mary's desired message into the lunar terrain.

However, Christopher couldn't shake the feeling of dissatisfaction with the power output and destruction capabilities. Determined to elevate Optimus to new heights, he resolved to enhance its arsenal with formidable space-grade weaponry.

Through the special glass, Mary gazed upon the vast expanse of characters etched into the moon's surface, her eyes brimming with tears of awe and gratitude.

"Now what? " Christopher asked in annoyance.

"I'm just... touched. Thank you, Christopher. You're the first person to show me such kindness. I-I'm truly moved," Mary confessed tearfully.

Christopher was taken aback by Mary's emotional response. What did this mean? Was Mary now in love with him? Fuck!

"It's getting late. Let's head back," Christopher suggested, eager to diffuse the tension.

Mary nodded, wiping away her tears. "Yes, let's go back."

"Optimus, return to Earth and drop Mary off at home," Christopher instructed.

"We will arrive under five minutes, my liege," Optimus acknowledged.

As they descended back to Earth, the first light of dawn greeted them upon arrival. The Optimus, now in their airplane form, touched down on the roof of Mary's house.

However, Mary hesitated to disembark.

"We're home," Christopher reminded her gently.

Mary fidgeted with her skirt, avoiding Christopher's gaze. "Oh," she murmured softly.

"Are you not going to go home?" Christopher prodded gently.

Suddenly, Mary looked up with a look of determination in her eyes. "Do you... like me?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion.

Christopher was taken aback by her question. He had never considered pursuing Mary, let alone being in a relationship with her. His actions had been driven solely by the desire to impress Spider-Man.

Caught off guard, he stammered, "Mary, your boyfriend is Peter."

"Yes, Peter is my boyfriend, but I've realized that I have stronger feelings for you now. I want to break up with Peter and be with you," Mary confessed passionately.

"Wait, we just met yesterday! This is too sudden!" Christopher protested incredulously.

"I've been with Peter because he's honest and faithful, but now I realize that he can't provide the romance and security I crave. You, on the other hand, possess talent, wealth, strength, and most importantly, you've given me the romance I've always dreamed of," Mary explained earnestly.

Caught between confusion and disbelief, Christopher found himself grappling with Mary's unexpected confession, uncertain of how to respond to her earnest declaration of affection.

"Is Mary a gold digger," He wondered.
