->Flash POV<-< p>

"Just this morning, the people of Green Hills, a neighbourhood in Queens, were forced to stay home, completely cut off from the world! The perpetrator? Some wonky storm was messing up with the damn signals! But there's something even weirder about this..." J. Jonah Jameson's voice travelled far in the living room as Flash put his phone in max volume.

Rapidly drawing on a piece of paper with superspeed, his form blurred as a rough sketch was painted upon the paper.

[THE FLASH - 7]

He had been busy creating designs for his super-suit, this one was the 7th iteration of its lineage. The Flash-7 was vaguely inspired by the hermetic speedster of Greek mythology, sporting a light shade of red as a shirt with a yellow streak of lightning erupting from the bottom, a silver helmet with small golden wings attached to the side, regular blue jeans, and red-coloured boots with lightning embellishments.

"Nah, that helmet doesn't cover my face, what the hell was I thinking..." He threw the design to the fireplace, it was quickly devoured by the ravenous flame and was reduced to ashes like its older iterations.

Flash knew that celebrities wouldn't be recognized in the street if they acted like regular people and didn't have the obvious hints of being famous, like paparazzi, an entourage of yes-men, or were literally filming on set.

But still, those who personally knew him wouldn't even have to get a second glance to know it was him! Let alone the government who would probably have some kind of facial-scanning AI...

And the super name? Flash! Yes, it was definitely on the nose, but this was called reverse psychology, and also in case he accidentally said he was the Flash whilst drunk or something.

Grabbing another piece of paper and putting a protein bar in his mouth, he began blurring in superspeed yet again as another sketch manifested itself upon the paper.

"You know what I think? I think it's definitely the government! One of Big Brother's secret experiments must have gone wrong and released that storm! Don't you think it's weirdly convenient that the storm only messes up communication signals? They're trying to cover something up, something dangerous and they're using the storm as an excuse to blatantly use military cloaking technology!" JJJ spat from Flash's phone as he looked up from Superspeed.

"Huh, that could actually be right..." Usually, JJJ's claims could be written off as just mundane conspiracy theories, but now that the 'experiments gone wrong' like those green hulking monsters that rampaged around a few months back were revealed to the public, JJJ started to become more and more understandable.

Flash went back to drawing his concept art as his form blurred in Superspeed, leaving slight afterimages every time his coloured pencil stroked the paper.

Dozens of superhero comic books littered the surroundings, all of them opened on specific panels where the hero's costume was most visible. These comics looked rather unkept, a clear sign of their older age, the more traditional art style also supported this.

After a little while, he got up and retrieved a bag of chips before returning to appraise his new design.

[THE FLASH - 8]

It was a pure full-body Spiderman-style suit with eyes and mouth as unlike Spiderman, he needed holes to breathe and see. Spidey probably had some kind of tech or special feature that allowed him those things, the suit's 'eyes' were most likely two-way mirror lenses or something like that.

But Flash didn't know to make that shit, so he just went with this design.

As mentioned before, it was a full-body yellow suit designed to give off a 'racer-feel' with red-lightning embellishments all over the suit, and even a red-lightning logo sewn to the solar plexus.

"This one looks good...I think I'm on to something here, let me just..." He decided to not go with this suit as it didn't exactly suit his colour taste.

But he still liked the design nonetheless, so he just changed the colour around...

"Ah, this is better..."

[THE FLASH - 9]

This one was mostly just the previous suit with the colour scheme switched around, now red was the predominant colour, while yellow was the primary colour for the suit's embellishments.

Flash smiled before throwing the Flash-8 onto the fireplace and sticking the Flash-9 to the wall with some tape.

"Now, how do I make this..." He glanced at the Halloween Spiderman costume and various other materials he had shoplifted from the department store across the city.

That department store had been his original destination back when he stole John Simmon's gun and threw him to the church, he chose the store that was farthest away from his home so that it wouldn't lead back to him.

He also wore a hoodie coupled with a disposable face mask that he quickly burnt to ashes after stealing the things he wanted with Superspeed, it was always best to be cautious.

"...Into that?" He glanced back at the Flash-9 design, which was distinctively different to Spidey's costume.

There was a sewing machine here and he knew how to use it, so that wasn't a problem. But he didn't know how to change the colour around...

Dyes were one of the things he had stolen from the department store, but he didn't really know how to apply them.

"I guess I'll just have to—"

"And I bet ya that menace, Spiderman is also a freaky experiment! Scientists have taken a look at his so-called webs and they ain't organic! 100% artificially made in some chemistry lab. So he's not even a proper Spider-Man, just a wall-crawling strongman! Sounds like a botched attempt at making another super soldier to me..."

"You really never shut up about Spiderman, huh...?" Flash scowled as he walked up to his mePhone and paused the video before exiting the Daily Bugle app.

Even though the company's main man, John Jonah Jameson was an S-tier hater of Spiderman, Daily Bugle was surprisingly very credible and unbiased when reporting news unrelated to the web-slinging Spiderman, which was why even someone like him had installed the app.

Just as he was about to shut his phone down so it wouldn't bother him with silly distractions any more, he got a high-priority notification from the app he had just closed.

[BREAKING NEWS: SPIDER-MAN GONE ROGUE?]

"What? Gone rogue, what does that even mean? You already think he's a bad guy so..." The headline certainly managed to get his attention, so without hesitation, Flash clicked.

The moment he did so, a video of Spiderman was overlayed on his screen.

Just like usual the neighbourhood hero was just swinging around town with webs, but something was off...

"Why the hell is he black?"

--->Author's Note:

Thoughts?

Next chap later today, I will start uploading daily but with 1k chaps, that's fine right?

The prologue is over, and the first arc will finally begin. The Flash will finally make his debut.

By the way, is the plot too slow? I mean, it's quite ironic that The Flash would have a slow-paced story...It's not on purpose, I promise.
