92 The Best Punching Bag

"Let's go." Max said, and the group left the underground base and headed towards the different space.

As they walked, Max couldn't help but think about the current situation. The world was becoming more dangerous for Mutants, and the emergence of the Sentinel program was a clear indication of that. The stakes were higher now, and it was crucial for them to develop their abilities and find a way to counter the Sentinel program.

Max and the others settled down inside The Diamensional Space. They spent their time practicing their abilities, discussing strategies, and making plans for the future. It was a tense and uncertain time, but they were determined to do whatever it took to survive and thrive in this new world.

As they worked towards their goals, Max

...

Max swung the door open, ushering the others into the different space. Standing at the threshold, he directed them, "You can come directly to me."

"And you?" Lorna inquired.

"I have other matters to attend to. I'll be back soon," Max replied.

After seeing off Lorna and the others, Max stepped outside but didn't depart. If someone did indeed disclose their location, Sentinel would likely arrive soon to confirm their suspicions.

The tranquil night air stirred gently as Max faintly discerned the distant roar of an airplane. Glancing upward, he spotted a faint light under the starry sky, drawing nearer.

Sentinel!

After a brief wait, Sentinel approached, hovering in mid-air.

"Unknown target detected," it announced.

"Commencing scanning."

"Database anomaly detected, initiating rescan."

"Anomaly detected..."

"Judgment: Non-Mutant."

"Expanding scan... Mutant not found. Mission concluded."

Accompanied by the faint mechanical hum of Sentinel, it swiftly accelerated, veering away into the night.

"I was right!" Max couldn't help but smirk as he watched Sentinel depart.

Though uncertain of the reasons, it seemed Sentinel had yet to be upgraded to detect even concealed variant genes in humans, sparing Max from being identified as a Mutant.

His actions were now even more risk-free.

Waving his hand, Max reopened the door and stepped back inside. In an instant, he propelled himself toward Sentinel.

Despite its slower-than-expected flight speed, Max gradually closed the gap. Observing the Sentinel below, he opened the door and leaped down.

Landing squarely on Sentinel's frame, Max unleashed a barrage of punches toward its head.

The impact reverberated through the air, causing Sentinel to wobble.

With successive blows, Sentinel staggered, plummeting from the sky.

As the ground rapidly approached, Max showed no intention of relenting, firmly anchoring himself atop Sentinel's structure.

It didn't take long to hear a loud bang.

Sentinel crashed heavily to the ground, causing shockwaves and tremors.

Max leaped slightly, distancing himself from the fallen Sentinel.

Dust filled the air.

The grounded Sentinel smoothly climbed back up, showing no sign of the impact from Max's hit.

"It's really strong."

Even with his current strength, Max couldn't completely destroy its body.

Sentinel, now standing, observed Max, seemingly unsure of how to handle a non-Mutant attack. It appeared that the program to deal with such a scenario hadn't been developed yet. Regardless, Max saw it as a perfect opportunity to accelerate gene integration.

With a simple stomp on the ground, Max soared into the air and delivered a powerful punch to Sentinel.

Sentinel staggered backward, and Max, after landing, relentlessly pressed forward.

His movements were a relentless onslaught, fists and feet striking Sentinel from left to right.

Sentinel, though intact, swayed under the assault.

Another heavy punch landed, and Max felt the intense pain accompanying the impact. The area where Sentinel was hit sank instantly, and the colossal body recoiled, leaving two long marks on the ground.

Max kicked, emphasizing that beating down opponents could be demanding physical work.

The battle continued.

.....

Max surged forward his Sai crafted from Adamantium slicing through Sentinel's head with a swift motion, causing a radiant light to burst forth from the wound.

A thunderous explosion echoed as Sentinel's head was obliterated, sending shockwaves rippling through the air, followed by a veil of gunpowder smoke.

After what felt like an eternity, the haze of gunpowder began to dissipate, revealing Max as he stooped to retrieve the Sai. With a brief glance at the decimated Sentinel, he gestured to open the door before disappearing into his Diamensional Space.

Exhaustion washed over Max as he reflected on the intense battle. Sentinel had been his adversary for over an hour, pushing his physical limits to the brink before he ultimately dispatched it with the Sai. Taking control of his body, Max soared homeward through the Diamensional Space.

The destruction of Sentinel marked a pivotal moment. The sudden absence of its signal sent shockwaves through the ranks of those overseeing the Sentinel project, prompting a frantic review of the images and data transmitted by the fallen Sentinel.

"Could it be the Diamensional Mercenary?"

"Why wasn't he identified as a Mutant? Is the data corrupted?" pondered the individuals, before promptly setting off to enhance the detection program for Sentinels.

They were determined to unveil any hidden mutant genes, no matter how deeply concealed they might be, through this upgraded system.
