82 Chapter 81: Aftermath (2)

---Mystique P.O.V------

Mystique was getting worried about both Charles and Erik's condition. She had watched Erik getting defeated by a super strong mutant in a matter of seconds.

The mutant had even taken control of his mind and made Erik do his bidding. She knew how much Erik loathed getting mind-controlled and was somewhat resistant to it but that mutant managed to break his mind defenses pretty fast.

Then he took control of the minds of all the other mutants in the brotherhood except her who managed to somehow escape the scene.

'If that was not enough, He even kidnapped Charles. God knows what he wants from him. But at least, he would not be put under mind control easily. Well, at least Charles would get a taste of his own medicine. He would never try to read minds without permission after going through it himself.' Mystique thought as she gritted her teeth in frustration while she watched Hank try to find any signs of them on the entire planet.

They have not found any signs of where the mutant had taken Charles or Erik.

'I should have gone to that Surgeon guy. He would have helped me. Well, that greedy bastard would do it for money but I could pay him by taking money from Charles. That guy is more reliable than anyone I have met.' Mystique thought

But Erik had warned her to never take help from him because he feels that he is a threat to mutants and just like Charles is sympathetic to humans and would never understand their cause.

Charles too wanted to never take help from Law again. Charles reasoned that Law had killed many people including mutants when he took out Stryker and helped the X-men. He called Law bloodthirsty with no morals who does not value other people's lives.

Charles did not want Law, a mutant to be seen killing people by his students as it might make them violent too.

Mystique though did not believe anything the two said. She instead thought that Law did correct by punishing those who deserved it as well as leaving those alive who did not. He also made sure to protect his city from mutant attacks and dissuaded Erik and Charles from carrying out any of their activities in his city.

"Anything Hank?" Mystique asked the blue furry guy

"Nothing at all, Without another telepath we can't hope to find them. We would have to act on the only clue we have. Before Charles got kidnapped, he had told me that he had sensed some powerful signals from the Middle East. Let's ready our jet and search that area." Hank suggested to which Logan, the leader of Mutants in the absence of Charles agreed.

"Let's go pups....." Before Logan could continue a portal opened in front of them that dumped mutants.

Logan's claws came out with alert but he immediately recognized the portal and calmed down. He told the other mutants who had also gotten battle-ready to calm down.

"It is the doctor" Logan stated remembering the guy who healed his brain and helped restore his memories. He was very grateful for that lad.

As they watched bodies being thrown one after another, everyone recognized them as the brotherhood mutants. The last one to get dumped from the portal was Charles and then came the familiar mercenary.

"Hey there, my favorite mutants" Law greeted them with a wave as he looked at everyone.

"Hey there, Bub! Looking sharp with those adamantium claws. I bet you could use a manicure, though. I know a guy who does wonders with metal,...Uh, sorry I mean I used to know such a person." Law said as he looked at Logan while he mentally rebuked himself for forgetting that Magneto had died.

Turning to Mystique, Law winked. "And you, blue beauty! Can you turn into Taylor Swift? I want to have a picture with her so I can show off with my friends."

Mystique's worry temporally disappeared as her eyes twinkled with amusement. "Sure, You would have to pay me for it though. But it's nice to see you haven't lost your sense of humor."

"Ah, humor is my middle name! Well, actually, it's D.....but who's counting? Anyways, I have brought some of your mutant friends and the principal of your school." Law's eyes lit up as he looked at the familiar glasses mutant.

Cyclops trembled in fear at the sight of Law. He had not forgotten his previous encounter with Law where he had cut all of his body parts and played with his weewee that was somehow separated from his body. It was the most horrific incident of his life.

He backstepped a little as Law winked at him through the eyeholes of his mask. Law chuckled as he commented "Looking good, laser boy. Is everything good down in your pants? I would not mind cutting it if you are having issues."

To Law's amusement, Scott shook his hand hurriedly and ran off to his room. Law swore that he could see tears coming from Scott's eyes that hosted lasers in them.

"Umm.... Surgeon, Did you not find Magneto, Pyro, and some other brotherhood mutants?" Mystique asked noticing that most of the brotherhood mutants were not present in the bodies that were dumped from the portal.

"Oh..... They are dead."
