80 Chapter 79: Death of Magneto (2)

"I have seen enough. Time to say bye-bye to the world, Erik." Law said as he rushed towards Magneto but for some reason was unable to go near him.

'A kind of a barrier? What's up with all my opponents having barrier abilities these days? And why does Magneto even have a barrier-type ability?' Law cursed under his breath.

'Seriously his name is so misleading. People misunderstand that he could only control metals. He controls one of the four fundamental forces of the universe: electromagnetic energy. This gives him control over electricity, light, heat, radio waves, microwaves, infrared, ultraviolet, X-rays, gamma rays, and more… including magnetism. However, for whatever reason magnetic energy is easiest for him to control. He uses it subconsciously and that's probably the reason he thinks that controlling metal is his only power.'

'He never understood the full scope of his power even now that he has become a true Omega-ranked mutant. Giving him the time to train and understand his powers would be a mistake on my part. One that I don't want to make.'

'Just imagine if Thanos manages to find all infinity stones and comes with the gauntlet to Earth only for Magneto to snatch it from him and use it himself to wipe out mankind.' Law shivered at that thought. Law knew that Magneto could go that far because, in one of the Earths of another universe, he had Wanda change reality where mutants became the government and hunted human superheroes.

'Yeah, no way that I am letting that happen even if the chance of that happening is very low. Since he likes to throw around things, I should do the same to show him the gap between us. Maybe that way Erik would know that he was an Ant to me just like the other humans were to him. Besides, he should know that he never stood a chance against me before he died.'

Law created a large enough ROOM and forcefully took control of everything that Magneto was controlling.

Magneto's eyes widened and he could only say a single word to express his shock "HOW?"

'I am much stronger than I used to be. His telekinesis power should not be able to do that. What the hell is his power even!' Unfortunately for Erik aka Magneto, he would die without any answers to his questions.

Law launched everything within his ROOM towards Magneto who despite having an everpresent barrier protecting him was overwhelmed as he fell from the sky with tons of weight upon him.

Before he could be completely crushed, Law teleported Magneto's bloody body in front of him. He was on his final few minutes so Law decided to entertain him for a bit.

"Why?" Magneto asked referring to why Law decided to get rid of him.

"Well, Magneto, You know, I've been thinking, your whole "mutants are superior, humans are insects" shtick is getting a bit old. And I have come to know that your attitude towards humans has not changed a bit. My subordinate read the mind of one of yours and saw that you were going to target the President in the near future. After that, you would make your existence as well as the existence of mutants known to the world. I can't have that."

"You read the minds of my subordinates? And here I thought you did not like your mind being read by others. What a Hypocrite!" Magneto angrily yelled at Law despite being on his death bed referring to the incident where Law threatened to kill Charles if he ever tried to read his mind again.

Law completely ignored his words as he continued "As I was saying, I can't have you doing that. While mutants deserve better, they are already living a much better life than a few years ago. Believe me in some other universes they are being treated worse than dogs. Earth is going to face many world-ending threats and your help would have been much appreciated during those times. But you have proved to me that you and the mutants that only want violence can't change. You would be an ever-present threat that could snap whenever he sees a mutant facing injustice. Tell me how you would be any different if you started ruling over those humans that are not mutants with an iron fist?" Law said

He had already done his best to ensure that mutants lived a safer life by eliminating people like Trask, Hydra (by giving Magneto information about their bases), and William Stryker. But some Mutants have let the power go in their heads and that would never end up doing good.

Yes, some mutants could change but what about the lives they would have taken before they realized their mistakes?

He was not going to let the Marvel Universe change into a DC universe where metahuman villains ran in every street and became an everpresent plague that always escaped prisons and continued to commit crimes knowing that the only punishment they would face was going to prison from where they can escape easily.

No In his universe, things would be different. Law knows that he might sound like a hypocrite but he was the only one who knew what threats the world was going to face and an internal threat would only worsen Earth's survival chances and with that his own chances along with his family's chances.

And Law was not going to risk it.

"I see, I ju...st wished for mutants to have a better life. Maybe you can achieve my.....dr....dream?" Before Law could reply Erik took his last breath.

"You would have made a good ally if the circumstances of your life were different. Don't worry though, the mutants that are pure-hearted would live a good life. I would make sure of that." Law said as he made a grave for Erik in the desert with some magical protections so that no one would steal his body. Law himself did not want to use Erik's body for research purposes.

The tombstone read "Hear rests the greatest defender of mutants, a man of steel will and magnetic personality. Even in death, he's attracting attention... and metal objects. Rest in peace, Magneto"
