32 Chapter 32: Emma and Gambit (1)

General P.O.V

Emma was busy working. It had been two weeks since she enjoyed a break but it was the first time in her life she was happy.

She could finally do what she always wanted to. She could finally build her own company and make a name for herself.

And for this she was eternally grateful to Law who had not only saved her from that prison that was built by Vincent for her but also trained her to protect herself and helped her fulfill her dreams.

He even treated her as a big sister despite him being so strong and he even respected her. She had already swore loyalty to him but she did not know what else she could do to pay him back.

Although he had already told her that her loyalty was enough, but she still wanted to do something for him. As she was thinking about this she heard Gambit saying "Everyone has left Emma. We should leave too."

Gambit also was very happy with his new life. He no longer had to hide from Strucker and steal or go to casinos to get money to survive.

As Emma was about to reply, she stopped and suddenly had a smile on her face "Looks like we have guests Gambit."

Suddenly, a bunch of armed men barged inside their office building.

"Emma Frost, CEO of Frost Internationals, we have a proposal for you. Work for us and give us the control of Facebook's software." One of them said

"And if I don't want to accept your proposal what will you be doing?" Emma asked curiously

"We would get rid of you and place our own men in charge here." The armed man answered

"Looks like little brother was right. As expected of Hydra." Emma said with a sneer

As soon as she said that all of them pointed their guns at her "How did you know that we are from Hydra?"

"You don't need to know that. Well, Gambit, it seems our day just got a little more interesting. Hydra agents breaking in and trying to steal company secrets. How cliché." Emma said as she looked at Gambit who was playing with cards.

Gambit smirked "Don't worry, chère. Gambit's got a way with cards and trouble. Let's give 'em a show they won't forget."

Emma uses her telepathic powers to infiltrate one of the Hydra Agent mind, causing him to become disoriented and read his memories about the number of men they have sent, their orders and their leader.

Hydra agents decided to not waste their time as they opened fire on Emma who didn't have any change in her expression as she continued reading the mind of the hydra agent.

Gambit came in front of him with his staff.

He twirled his staff, expertly deflecting a series of bullets aimed at him.

Gambit laughed "Your aim's as bad as your fashion sense, boys. Maybe you should stick to knitting."

At this time Emma was already done reading the memories of the hydra agent. She was still sitting on her chair while she created an illusion, making it appear as if the room is filled with mirrors, confusing Hydra Agents.

Emma mockingly said "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the dumbest of them all? Looks like it's you, Hydra."

Oh well, Emma and Gambit have picked Law's habit of taunting their opponents. Only time will tell whether this habit of theirs will be good for them or not.

Gambit launched a barrage of explosive cards, causing chaos among the Hydra agents.

As the fight intensified, Emma and Gambit demonstrated their seamless teamwork, using their powers to outwit and overpower the Hydra agents.

Emma smirked "Tell me, gentlemen, are you always this inept, or is today a special occasion?"

Gambit knocked out the last hydra agent with a swift roundhouse kick.

"Looks like the training with boss was really helpful." said Gambit as he was about to throw some explosive cards to kill the man but Emma stopped him "You idiot, if you make his body explode, my office will be covered in blood and gore. Who do you think will clean that? Just slice their necks."

Gambit followed Emma's instructions and sliced all the hydra agents'necks.

"We are not done yet, there are more of them surrounding the building. Let's deal with them there. I don't want to ruin my office." Emma said as she finally got up from her seat and made her way towards other Hydra agents along with Gambit.

---A minute later----

Emma Frost and Gambit find themselves surrounded by a group of Hydra agents in the company's lobby. The agents are armed and ready for a fight.

"Oh, So you have decided to follow us. Wise choice. Where are the men that were with you though?" One of the Hydra agents said thinking that Emma had accepted their proposal and decided to work with them.

Emma looked at these guys and smiled "Oh, look at this sorry lot. Did Hydra run out of recruits? Or are you just the leftovers they scraped off the bottom of the villain barrel?"

Hydra Agent 1 said "Watch your tongue, Frost. We're here to take what's rightfully ours!"

Gambit smirked "Well, sugah, I hate to break it to ya, but this company ain't in the business of selling cheap knockoffs. You Hydra folks should've stuck to clearance sales at the villain convention."

"I can't hear any reply from the agents above. Possibly dead." One of the agents shouted and they all pointed their guns at Emma and Gambit

Emma uses her telepathy to scan the area while Gambit charged his playing cards.

Emma with a sly grin said "Gambit, darling, I think it's time we give them a demonstration of our teamwork. I'll take care of their minds, you handle the fireworks."

Gambit too grinned "Let's show 'em how we make sparks fly!"
