25 Chapter 25 A Company’s Foundation
I didn't run into any more X-men after that and continued school as usual before heading straight to Peter's house.
Apparently not fast enough however once I got inside I realized that I was the last one to arrive. Everyone was also already sitting down with pasta in front of them.
"Hey guys sorry for being late" I apologized honestly since I was the one that planned this yet here I was arriving late.
"Oh no worries Kol I just set the table come and sit" Aunt May said as she served a plate for me.
Man that smells good can't wait to try it
As that happened I walked over to Ned and Peter as we did the handshake. I wasn't able to do it before but after taking NZT it became quite easy.
"When are we gonna show them, the you know what" Ned whispered to me with a happy expression.
Looking behind Ned I noticed Peter also seemed excited to share the news.
I knew waiting too long would drive these two crazy so I relented a bit and said "Before we eat so the food can taste better"
Peter reacted fast as he took off to his room saying he was going to get a camera.
"You can sit over here Kol" May said as she pointed to the seat next to Gwen who was currently drinking some water.
Taking my seat I got a better look at the dish and realized it was Pasta alla Vodka one of my favorites.
"This smells great Aunt May thanks for having me over" Complimenting the cook is always good so you can get seconds.

"Thank you Kol here have some extra" May replied as she poured me some more

Gwen who had been quiet so far suddenly spoke up "Kol do you think you can come over to my house?"
I froze upon hearing this and almost dropped my fork
She also seemed to notice her wording and turned red in panic "Not like that! I just want you to come so I can tell my parents about me joining you guys"
"Really you're not worried about your dad anymore?" I asked remembering her mention how he was strict
"A little but with us making money it will leave them with little reason to say no." Gwen mentioned, making a good point.
"Will next Friday do?"
"Yeah that works with me" With a date settled we went back to eating just in time for Peter to arrive with a dusty Video Recorder in his hand.
Peter and Ned both threw me a thumbs-up as I saw a small red light flash on the camera.

Pulling out my phone I quickly pulled out my account page and called over Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
"Uh Kol what is this" May asked hesitantly while Ben just sat down
"It's how much money we made so far after making the app Specter"
May just covered her mouth while Ben gave a proud yet stunned look.
"So can Peter join and help me out? I did make a million in a month as promised." I asked the still very shocked May
"Kol you didn't just make a Million dollars! That's 34 Million I don't even know what to say."
Peter walked over and stood between May and Ben as he held them on each side.
"Well, can I?"
May seeing this gently hugged Peter before looking back at me "He can but before that, I at least need to know what kind of job he will have" This question seemed confirmed by Uncle Ben as well as he gave me a serious look.
"That's actually why I wanted to come here today. I planned on making Peter, Ned, and Gwen each in charge of their own division. Being right under me in terms of position."
Everyone seemed surprised by this. I didn't understand why. I thought I had made it clear from the beginning that my company would be shared with my friends.
Even if we'd only been friends for a short while they were all I had.
Money and technology are great but having people to spend it with is what really matters. So I wanted to show them that.
"Remember guys I said we'd build this together"
Gwen looked a bit down as she said "But we haven't even done anything to help you yet besides advertising."
"Hey, you guys have done plenty. Yea, the app was made by me but you guys helped advertise it. The game apps are also almost completed and that's being done by you guys as well."
The three of them smiled at my recognition
While Uncle Ben seemed focused on something else. "Well, Kol is the company just going to be you four?"
"No, and that's actually what I wanted to bring up. I plan on hiring employees because this won't work so well with just us. We need an Accountant, a legal team, regular employees, customer support, and even talents from other fields. I don't plan on keeping this company focused on just programming. These are also the people who will be working under you guys as well.
However, for all of this, we're going to need a building and equipment. So I was planning on meeting a real estate agent to help me find a location that has both a lab and office in the same property tomorrow. If that's not possible then I'm also fine with them being separated"
At this point, everyone was no longer surprised by my goals. Instead, they opted to support me in this endeavor as they recognized that we still had a lot of work to do.
Running a company was turning out to not be as simple as I originally imagined but that's what made it fun.
The challenge

Gwen's tapping caught my ear as I looked at her and noticed how serious she looked. Appearing to be in deep thought.
She looked like she reached some sort of conclusion as she turned to face the rest of us.
"Kol out of all the things you said I think the most important would be getting an accountant. We're earning money but it's not like it's infinite so we need someone to help manage our funds and handle our taxes. This should also help us in knowing just how much money we actually have. Knowing our resources will allow us to better control our funds as we spend it on the properties, equipment, and pay."
Everyone seemed to think about it before agreeing. Out of everything that one really took precedence.
I also took this opportunity to add my opinion on the matter
"If that's going to be our first move then the second most important thing would be securing a legal team to check and make sure everything is correct on our company's registration. Once everything is safe for our business legally they'll have to start working on our trademarking, apps, and any other future products we may release."
"Where are we going to find people like that who are at least good at what they do?" Ned asked worried someone might try to scam us
"You guys can leave that to me, the both of you just focus on finishing the games so we can get more funds" I said to both Peter and Ned so we could have more money to work with.
Gwen raised her hand a bit and asked "What do I do? They're both focused on the game and you're going to meet people to help us. I don't want to do nothing, I also want to be helpful. I'm a part of this as well."
I smiled at Gwen and gave her a head pat that she quickly shook off
"I actually have something important for you to do. I know we should wait for accountants and lawyers but I still want you to find us at least a Lab outside of New York. If it has an added area for offices even better but the lab is the most important."
Gwen seemed worried but that's because she didn't know that I'd already read multiple books on law and accounting already. So I won't be making mistakes.
The only reason I was hiring people was because of efficiency.
"You sure Kol?"
"Trust me, have I let you down so far?"
Gwen just smiled at me before responding "Alright, I'll get to it. Luckily my dad has a friend in real estate so I'll check with him after school tomorrow."
With our basic plan and structure done. We settled down and relaxed the rest of the evening because starting the next day we would each be very busy.
Then I can finally start giving myself some upgrades… I have been weak for just way too long.

While Kol spent time with his friends and enjoyed his evening. He had unknowingly become a topic of discussion at a particular private school.

Within the Headmaster's office, four amazing individuals seemed to be having an interesting conversation.
The first man present was quite tall with a wild and rugged appearance. He had a beer in his left hand and stubble on his chin. Logan or better known as the Wolverine.

Beside him was a beautiful and exotic woman with white hair. There was an air of mystery around her but also one of danger. Ororo Monroe, a woman capable of controlling the weather itself Aka Storm.

She stood tall behind an old man who sat comfortably. He was completely bald in a full suit appearing to be helpless but this was not the case. Charles Xavier

These three individuals stood in front of a very familiar redhead as she recounted her experience at school to the people she saw as family.

The professor sat with an expression that was hard to discern as he contemplated something.
"Jean, you think this boy might be one of us?" Charles asked not expecting to hear about an unknown mutant at Jean's school.
In fact, this took them all by surprise. Before Charles sent his students to attend a school with regular people. He first checked for dangers by using the cerebro and discovered nothing unusual, not even fellow mutants.
However, he is aware that things can change and that the chance of someone awakening their X-gene is rather high. This was the case with most of his students after all.
"He didn't outright tell me he was a mutant but I think he has a rather high chance of being one. I wasn't able to hear his thoughts and he was even able to stop me somewhat when I tried." Jean answered as she thought about her encounter
"Hmm if he is then we should invite him to attend here. Kol Dagon was it? I'll try checking once more with Cerebro and after we can go introduce ourselves" Charles said with a fatherly smile
Logan poured some more beer in his mouth and grunted as he said "You don't gotta do that professor we can just go get the kid now and check him here"
Ororo merely rolled her eyes at Logan's brazenness
"And how will that make us appear Logan? If he is experiencing new powers then he might become wary of us especially if we overwhelm him."
"Fine you guys handle it, kids are way too sensitive for my liking anyway. If you want to see me, I'll be in the danger room." Logan said as he exited to room pulling out a large cigar in his other hand
After Logan left Ororo made a curious expression and faced Jean once more.
"Anything more you can share about him so we can know how to approach him?"
Jean thought about it and recalled that he was mostly easygoing and didn't make things awkward. Even after learning she was a mutant or when her friends arrived.
"Hmm, I'd probably say to just treat him normally when you invite him to attend."
Charles smiled at this, thankful that this potential student seemed easier to handle at least when compared to others.
Ororo shared his opinion as she thought about the numerous broken children that have attended their school needing not just friends but family.
"You can go Jean, once it's time for us to meet him I'll let you know. Perhaps bringing you along will also put him at ease"
"Hn thank you Professor and you too Ororo" Jean replied as she gave each a hug and went looking for her friends to give them the news.
