19 Chapter 19 Oscorp Part 1/3

"Welcome everyone to Oscorp. Please follow the guest guidelines and stick together. I am Martha Kelly and I'll be your guide for the day with my assistant Gwen here whom I am sure most of you are familiar with." Mrs Kelly stated as she led us through the building.

Workers and scientists could be seen moving about in an orderly fashion. Everyone knew their job and was focused on it.

Honestly, it was quite impressive at a glance almost like an ant colony

"Here at Oscorp we invest in various fields but our true capabilities shine in robotics and chemicals. Where we are the lead in both research and studies. A fact that we are quite proud of." Mrs Kelly said as she gestured toward one of the labs that had a robotic arm grabbing items and moving them around.

It looked really similar to the one used in the Iron Man movie that sprays him with the fire extinguisher.

However, my focus wasn't really on the Robotic arm but instead on a computer I noticed being used by the head researcher of said floor.

Raising my hand I decided to ask the tour guide about it.

"Hm, a question so fast? Well then how can I help you?"

"It's about that computer I see that researcher using, by chance would that be a quantum computer?"

Hearing this seemed to surprise her for a moment but that emotion was soon clouded over by excitement.

"Well yes, that is indeed a quantum computer. In fact, it is one of our company's most recent achievements." After this, she went on a bit of a rant on how great Oscorp was and how amazing the computer was.

Though I couldn't really agree with the first thing I definitely agreed with the second.

A quantum computer now that would be pretty useful to have. My laptop is good and all but that doesn't mean I am not limited. Especially when it comes to how much information I can store.

However, this would change with a quantum computer making it easier to make various designs for future projects and knowledge I will buy from the system.

I was originally going to buy the knowledge from the system but why waste points doing something like that when I can just steal one during a villain attack.

As we moved up the floors we got closer and closer to where Connors lab should be. Something we knew thanks to Gwen's signals that we were nearby.

Turning to Peter I saw that he seemed nervous about ditching the tour.

This Peter cared a lot about rules and wasn't really like the Andrew Garfield version but more like Toby's. Something I didn't mind since that Spider-Man was my favorite.

"Hey Kol I don't know if we should go after all I mean it's been a long time he probably doesn't even remember my parents"

I just gave him a blank look to which he scratched his head since even he knew it was a pretty lame one.

"Peter at the end of the day it's up to you if we meet the guy or not and yeah maybe it won't change anything but at least you'd learn a little bit more about your parents from someone they knew personally."

"And if doesn't go well I got you a gift Peter" Ned suddenly said as he popped out of nowhere

"Huh what did you get me"

"Two words" Ned said as he held up two fingers while mouthing words without making a sound but both me and Peter were able to understand it as he also made a circle gesture

'Death Star'

"Woaaah dude for real! The new Lego Death Star?"

"The one and only so let's hurry this up so we can get home and build it. Those things are gonna take us at least all afternoon."

While these two were in their own world I began to realize that I had neglected something.

I never even thought about knowledge from my system already being known in this world through pop culture. Looks like I have another thing to check on later.

Even if I did have a super mind that was giving me quite the edge. That didn't mean I suddenly became omnipotent and knew all things.

Something else I need to be aware of. Thankfully something as simple as legos reminded me once again not to get cocky.

Suddenly I got pulled out of my thoughts when I noticed a familiar symbol up ahead which would lead to another floor. That's the one from the movie for cross-species genetics! We're close.

Turning to Peter I noticed him looking at the same thing.

"Ned, I need you to start the distraction!"

"Huh but we are not even at Connor's lab yet"

"I know I know but I need to get to that lab" Peter said as he pointed across the hall

Ned was a bit confused but chose not to hesitate and quickly ran up in front of the class.

"Couph Couph I have an announcement to make everyone!" Ned said as he climbed on top of a chair

Seeing this both me and Peter got secondhand embarrassment but we were both thankful nonetheless and made our exit. This wasn't unnoticed by Gwen as she made an angry expression and kept pointing to stay but was ignored as we fast-walked without looking back.

On the way, I slid my hand in my hoodie as I pressed a button on my phone. Releasing the virus to block the cameras through the Wi-Fi. This should buy us plenty of time.

"I have decided that I will become a head researcher one day at this amazing corporation. I know this may seem sudden everyone but-"

"Get down from there Mr Leeds!" Mr Harrington said as he tried pulling Ned down

Reaching the door we checked the sign and read the description

[Biocable Development Unit]

This is it! This is the room with spiders!

"Well let's head in"

"Huh, but there's a lock? How are we gonna do that"

To that question, I pulled out a random researcher ID that I swiped on the way

He had a surprised expression but his eagerness to discover what was within overshadowed his questions.

Walking in we were met with various high-tech machinery spread throughout the room testing strings as it pulled and twisted.

Separating myself from Peter I began reading some of the research notes and logs.

[Genetically Enhanced Spiders]

- log 13 -

The spiders have proven to be a miracle that we haven't been able to replicate. These 15 Spiders have proven to be far superior to any other spider on Earth.

All subjects have shown signs of enhanced web fluid durability. While others have shown some more interesting traits.

One in particular disappeared at one point in time but was soon discovered to still be in its case. Somehow this particular spider developed the ability to camouflage so well that it appears to disappear.

Mr Osborn has also been pressuring us to decipher this ability for Military purposes but progress has been slow.

- End Log -

Wait 15 spiders? So there's not going to be a whole room of them. Still, this seems to be a bit more interesting.

What if each spider gives different abilities or even enhances other abilities when used together?
