5 Chapter 5

The more famous and influential a person is, the more difficult it becomes to get in touch with them...

But when the ego and the intelligence of this person are certainly the biggest on the planet then it becomes an almost impossible task!

I thought of various ways to contact Stark...

Unfortunately, none of them seemed viable at the time.

But, fortunately, my powers had granted me a high level of intellect that rivaled that person...

five days had been enough to make me the most successful human hacker on the planet, I believe...

I didn't try to hack into the personal schedule of the future Iron Man, because JARVIS would almost certainly detect me...

no, in fact, it was sure!

So I fell back on the guy's personal assistant, who believed it or not, was Tony Stark's biggest security breach...

And luckily for me, the lady had a laptop containing her boss's one-on-one appointments.

From there, it was not difficult to put my name down for one of those meetings.

However, I couldn't just show up with a space rock...

No, my aim was to kill two birds with one stone!

I spent three more days creating two or three things that I considered rather useful for a man like Stark!

The point was to make him understand that I was no less than his equal in impressing him...

I figured I'd need a viable origin for the Vibranium discovery, so I created a fairly advanced algorithm...

after finishing all my preparations, I booked a direct flight to California.

---

Coming out of the airport, I didn't have to wait because a black sedan with tinted windows from Stark Industry stopped not far from me...

a man got out who I identified as Tony's personal driver.

''Mr. Kent?'' he waved his hand at me, calling my name.

I nodded and wanted to shake his hand but the guy looked annoyed so I got straight into the car.

It was only after another long silent drive that we arrived in front of a villa in Malibu.

---

I knew something was wrong the second I approached the villa...

Stark's assistant was sitting on the couch and I saw Tony Stark himself waiting for me in the living room of his villa with a drink in his hand thanks to my x-ray vision...

"and shit..." I thought.

This wasn't like his character at all!

Normally he would have enjoyed making me wait like the star he is...

as I entered the villa, I spotted Virginia looking at me with an 'I'll make you pay' look...

So you caught me?" was the first thing I said, with a smile of course.

Everyone's eyes opened wide at that, except for Tony who smirked, already looking at me like a riddle.

''I think, you owe the lady an apology,'' Tony replied as he sipped his whiskey.

''ah yeah, sorry for you Miss Potts, but you see your boss didn't bother to secure your laptop...'' I resumed smiling, except I was cut off by the lady. Is that an excuse? Virginia Potts' eyes turned red at my audacity.

I clearly heard Tony gulp. ''Well kid, you know, I'm not babysitting, nor in charity, so explain yourself.''

Shrugging indifferently, I grabbed my backpack and was about to take out the Vibranium except they all went into danger mode!

''wow! Whoa! Easy, kid.'' it was Happy Hogan who spoke, and I looked at him as if to say 'are you stupid?'

I said, "uh... well man, I literally got through airport security with this... do you think it's dangerous or anything?''

''The kid's got a point! Well, let's see why you're so confident in yourself.'' Tony spoke as relaxed as ever.

However Happy was looking at me with killing stares, just like Pepper.

Smiling, I reached into my bag and pulled out what looked like a shiny metal rock, I placed it on the coffee table in the living room.

''Great! The kid brought back a rock, what do you want? Should I ricochet it?" he asked sarcastically, but I was pretty sure he knew what it was about, his envious eyes didn't lie.

I heard Happy laughing behind my back, and that's when I smiled with more confidence than before.

I crossed my arms in front of my chest and waited without saying anything, I just stared at Tony.

''okay kid, how did you get this?" he asked, I shrugged again with indifference.

''Is it important?'' I asked slightly puzzled by his answer, though it wasn't Tony who answered but Virginia Potts. ''Wait, what is it exactly? Mr. Stark?! I don't understand...''

''Pepper, it's Vibranium, the rarest metal on the planet... and this kid just showed up at my door with what? 1, 2 kilos? I repeat kid how did you get that?'' Tony gave me stinky eyes as if he was accusing me of stealing the Vibranium somewhere.

''1 kilo and 589 grams, and as for how to say... providence?'' I toyed with him slightly, I quickly guessed that Tony had been looking for it for a long time by his attitude.

His answer was direct, but his eyes were still drawn to the metal.

''Okay, let's go to your workshop. I'd rather keep this thing between us." I picked up as quickly as he did.

He had complicated eyes for a brief moment. "Fine, follow me, but you better keep your hands in your pockets, and know that if I don't like your explanation then... ''

I cut him off in his sentence. ''I'm fine with hands in my pockets and only touching with my eyes?''

Wow, this is quite a workshop you have here Mr. Stark...'' I complimented as I sat down on the only couch in the workshop.

''Yeah, make yourself comfortable kid, after all, you're only in my workshop, where just three people have entered including you,'' Stark says to me with visible annoyance.

''Thank you,'' I replied as I sank further into the top of the sofa.

''So kid, explanation, right now.'' Again he resumed with a stinky look.

''hmmm'' sighing, I thought about the best way to get results.

''We're not going to spend three hours on this, are we?'' Tony Stark snapped me out of my train of thought.

I reached into my bag and pulled out a 128 Gigabit USB stick and said. ''what if... Mr. Stark, let's imagine, what if you could predict when and where any asteroid would pass near the earth at any given time...''

Stark cut me off immediately. ''Yeah, there are tons of agencies for that already, you know NASA?''

I smiled. ''Yes, that's true, but can they predict something that size, something so small and insignificant crashing somewhere on American ground?'' I said, pointing to the piece of Vibranium.

''They can.'' his response was instantaneous and I resumed. ''I'm afraid not.'' I raised an eyebrow at him in a challenge.

''JARVIS?'' Tony asked out of the blue deciding to reveal his AI to me, which it should be noted was not yet public knowledge.

[Sir, it seems that this is not possible with the current means.]

''You don't seem surprised? But you already knew?'' Tony asked me, referring to JARVIS. ''yeah...''

''So, what, you knew that piece of Vibranium was going to... crash?" he asked me puzzled.

''See for yourself..." I said, throwing the USB stick at him.

He grabbed it but hesitated to plug it in, after all, it's easier to hack something from the inside.

''Seriously?" I asked at his worried demeanor.

He finally plugged in the USB stick and opened my algorithm, but before he did he asked JARVIS.

''JARVIS, pull up the NASA high earth orbit rendering, including all the parameters.''

The artificial intelligence calculated the data quickly and after a few seconds, a rendering appeared on the screen.

[It's done, sir.]

''You see, you didn't invent anything, kid.'' Tony looked proud, but I chuckled and said. ''Jarvis, please use my algorithm and the software and do it again, but this time compares the two results.''

[Sir? Please, what should I do?]

Tony looked at me then. ''You heard the kid, go ahead JARVIS.''

After a full minute, where I was under Tony's gaze saying 'show-off' the AI spoke

[Sir, it seems that the previous data is incomplete, reaching only 20% of the current one].
