110 Training with the Order

"It's fine if you all attack at once." 

I taunted everyone within the training hall. And Sable being the hotblooded one— rushed at me with her staff. 

For her, I didn't need to use any of my powers and easily snatched the staff using only martial arts skills.

I was about to land a hit on her but she was saved by Moon Knight's hook as she was dragged away before being kicked.

"Don't rush in without informing your teammates." He reprimanded her and looked at Betty. "You right, me left and Deadpool…. He will be fine."

Betty nodded and using her enhanced leg strength, shot towards me. 

All of them were enhanced and that gave Betty and the rest a chance to fight me.

Or at least that's what they think.

My senses were sharp enough to pick every little change in my surroundings and with my reflexes, dodging her attack was child's play.

But they were not done yet as Moon Knight took advantage of tonight's lunar cycle and enhanced himself to monstrous limits.

His moves were invisible to a normal human's eyes, but with my powers, I easily stopped him. 

A harpoon shot towards me so I used Moon Knight as a shield to stop the attack. His armour was strong enough to stop the harpoon with ease.

Sable clicked her tongue as her attack failed. 

But I had no time to celebrate as I was jumped by two of the strongest members within the Order— Absorbing Man and Bloodstone.

Bloodstone slammed his Battleaxe at me while Absorbing Man, whose body was turned metal, attacked me with his transmuted hammer fist. 

"Not bad." 

I stopped both of their attacks using only my fingers. With just two fingers, I had crushed Bloodstone's battleaxe and with my other arm, I twisted Absorbing Man's arm which made him scream in agony.

Sable rushed in to help, but I threw Absorbing Man towards her which knocked her out. I kicked Bloodstone, sending him a few feet away from me. 

"Don't tell me that you forgot about me, boss!"

Deadpool jumped at me with his dual swords, but after mastering most of my powers— everything felt slow and weak.

Snatching the swords from him, I used his own swords to stab him in the gut and neck respectively.

He stumbled back and without wasting time, I broke his neck.

He is immortal so that barely matters. 

With most of the members left unable to fight, Absorbing Man, Bloodstone and Moon Knight barely stood up and got prepared to fight me.

"Now, Marc and Carl…" I frowned. "You two failed your mission even after being provided with the teleportation ability. So, don't expect any mercy from me."

The two of them looked embarrassed.

"He's more cunning than we expected and he thus managed to escape, but Selene is tracking him down. Once she finds him, we will take him out for sure."

"This has been the Order's first failure." I looked at Marc. "And I hope that it will be the last." 

"Forgive us, sir." Marc apologised. 

Grinning at them, I roared. "Then show me if you are capable of completing the mission!"

They nodded and this time they didn't jump at me instantly. But instead, Moon Knight took out his enchanted Sword and pointed it at Absorbing Man and Bloodstone did the same with his battleaxe. 

Absorbing Man grinned and pushed his hands towards the weapons. 

Using his left hand he absorbed the properties of the anti-metal battleaxe and with his right hand, he absorbed the properties of the enchanted sword.

His left side turned into anti-metal and his right side changed into the same enchanted metal that was used in Moon Knight's sword.

"That's interesting." I mumbled. 

Bloodstone threw his battleaxe at me but as I turned to dodge it, I realised that it was merely a diversion. 

Marc took the opportunity to reach close to me and used his sword to stab me— which ended up unsuccessful.

But turns out, that was a diversion as well.

As the real attack was from Absorbing Man. He had transformed both his arms into axes and using them, he chopped my arms off.

Without wasting time, Moon Knight shoved his sword in my skull while Bloodstone slammed his battleaxe over my head.

Blood pooled under me as they stood there huffing.

They had won.

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap*

"Congratulations, you finally managed to defeat my clone with 0.05% of strength… after six months of training."

It might not sound much but even 0.05% of a million exploding suns... was a lot.

I looked at Marc and Carl.

"You gained another chance but remember if you fail again… You will lose your rank. Which means you will have to start from the bottom again."

Carl and Marc bowed. "Thank you."

Meanwhile, Bloodstone laid on the floor huffing. 

"You too Bloodstone, good job."

He grinned and showed me a thumbs up.

I clapped my hands again and the ninja boys appeared in front of me.

"Take all of them to the nursing room. Domino is there, tell her to help them with first aid."

They nodded and started to move the unconscious members to the infirmary.

…

…

[Later that night]

"The European branches have been making quite a bit of ruckus." 

Joel's voice came from the other side of the phone.

"They have always been bad at staying satisfied with what they have." I sighed. "At least the Asian branches are doing perfectly fine."

"At first, I was doubtful of Magnus' ability but he has managed to surprise me." He chuckled. "Like father, like son I guess."

"Magnus has been making progress and I am proud of him. And as I have told you before, I don't have time to run the Hanley groups anymore."

Joel sighed. "Without you, it's quite difficult to run the business. But at least we are making steady progress."

"I am blessed to have you as a friend. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to manage all these."

I started my business to get out of poverty and to later fund my projects. And now with the power I have, I can create infinite gold and diamonds— I don't need to run a company.

So, I let Joel and Magnus run it. 

After all, my goals are beyond simple money.

"But remember one thing, Markus… If you fall into the darkness, you won't be able to get out of it."

I laughed at his statement.

"You are not wrong, but don't worry about it. I keep my powers and my interests under control. Because even I know that if I go berserk, humanity will be doomed."

There are beings that are stronger than me. But by the time they intervene, humanity will be long gone. 

The only fear I had in the past was Void, but now after absorbing him— there was nothing that could corrupt me.

At least not within myself.

Because I was already corrupted.

The reason I am looking for the soul stone is also for this reason. If I have the soul stone, I will be able to prevent any and all kinds of corruption.

But now… I need to locate Nidavellir.
