2 Chapter 2: The Spaceship in the Basement

"Oh my god, I hope they can get out of this safely."

The sympathetic Mr. and Mrs. Parker expressed concern about the accident in the news break and prayed that they would be safe from danger.

However, Peter Parker in the backseat now felt as if he had been punched hard on the head.

He didn't care at all about the casualties caused by this sudden accident. The only thing echoing in his mind was the line "A mysterious figure saved the crisis with spider silk".

Peter was completely unaware of the fact that he was still planning how to get Spider-Man's powers next time.

But someone else had long ago taken a step ahead and successfully awakened Spider-Man's extraordinary abilities.

At this very moment, that person was displaying tremendous power and announcing Spider-Man's birth to the world.

There is no doubt that after today, the name of Spider-Man will sweep through the entire New York City and even the world.

And all of this had nothing to do with him, Peter Parker.

At this moment, Peter was like a rich second generation who was about to inherit billions of family assets, only to find out at the most critical moment that he was not a biological child.

Not only would the billions he was about to inherit go up in smoke he himself would also be kicked out and forced to beg on the streets.

Such a huge drop was almost impossible for anyone to accept.

As a result, even when Mr. and Mrs. Parker had arrived at their destination, Peter still couldn't fully accept this bad news.

"Peter, we're here."

Ben Parker did not notice the strong sense of loss within Peter at this time.

Parking the car in front of a farm, he called to Peter in the back and opened the car door.

At this time, Peter, who was still immersed in the loss, finally came back to his senses, stabilized his mind, and got out of the car together.

Temporarily forgetting about not being able to become Spider-Man, Peter looked at the huge farm in front of him. Although it looks a little desolate, the original flat ground, at the moment has grown nearly a meter or so of weeds.

However, it also had a different kind of beauty.

Whenever a light breeze blew by, it was like the sea, rippling with waves of emerald green.

"Well, even if I can't become Spider-Man in the future, at least I can still be a farm owner."

Who wouldn't want to be the handsome Spider-Man if they could?

"The Parker Farm was the only property his parents left for this body."

Recalling memories of this farm in his mind, Peter felt slightly strange.

He didn't remember there being such a farm in the Spider-Man movies.

"It's been a whole year since we were last here. This place has become so desolate. It looks like we'll be busy these next few days."

Looking at the weed-filled farm, Ben Parker couldn't help rubbing his no longer flexible old waist.

Listening to Ben Parker's complaints, Aunt May couldn't help but give him a blank look, and then said to Peter, "Peter, let's go in first."

Ben smiled and shook his head, following them slowly into the farm.

"This farm is pretty big. Even in the suburbs, such a huge area should be worth quite a lot of money, right? Who said Peter Parker was poor? This is a future farm owner for sure."

Once inside the farm, Peter could feel more directly just how massive this farm really was.

Just from the entrance to the house, it took a while.

Only a few simple wooden houses were situated above the farm.

A full year had passed since the last time they came here.

The houses that were originally organized a year ago had already accumulated a thick layer of dust once again.

Uncle Ben pointed to a modest wooden house on the far side and said to Peter, "Peter, leave the other rooms to me and May. You go tidy up that warehouse over there, okay?"

Peter didn't answer. He just strode towards that wooden house.

"Ben, we can do these things. Why make Peter do it?"

May looked at the departing Peter with care in her eyes.

Uncle Ben smiled and responded, "May, he's grown up, it's time for him to become independent like a man."

"As far as I'm concerned, No matter when, he will always be a child to me."

...

On the other hand, Peter had already come to that small warehouse.

It was just tidying up a warehouse. He naturally didn't have anything to complain about.

However, as he entered the warehouse and looked at the many useless items of unknown use piled up inside, as well as the thick layer of dust accumulating on top of it, his heart still collapsed a little.

"This is going to take an entire afternoon to tidy up? I haven't even had lunch yet!"

Peter couldn't help but growl inwardly.

In the end, however, he could only be silent as he start sorting out the items inside.

Fortunately, Uncle Ben was not an evil capitalist.

After an hour, he still came and called Peter to eat the lunch made by Aunt May.

Although, after eating, Peter had to go back and continue tidying up the warehouse.

So for almost an entire afternoon, Peter was tidying up this warehouse—cleaning and organizing the materials and equipment whose uses were unknown, categorizing and neatly arranging them.

Gradually, the original messy warehouse became neat and organized.

And in the process, the memories about this farm in his mind also gradually became clearer, including the memories about this warehouse.

He recalled that once upon a time, this body's parents had warned him not to come here to play when he was small.

Now that he thought about it, it seemed like there was some secret hidden here.

"It couldn't be that there's a hidden biological lab here, right?"

Combined with the fact that this body's parents were biogenetic scientists, Peter felt that there was a real possibility that there was a biological lab hidden here.

"Hey, even if there really is a lab here, what use would it be for me now?"

"Should I use it to conduct bio-genetic modification experiments on myself? If I can't become Spider-Man, should I go become Fly-Man or Roach-Man instead?"

Thinking of this, Peter couldn't help but shake his head, putting these unrealistic thoughts aside and continuing to tidy up the warehouse.

Peter sat on his butt on the floor, "Finally almost done, but I'm exhausted."

After spending nearly an entire afternoon, Peter was finally almost done tidying up this warehouse.

All that was left was a pile of metal objects of unknown use in the corner.

"Ooh, it's really heavy!"

Moving up the metal products in the corner piece by piece, Peter couldn't help but feel that his waist was about to break.

"Eh? This is ... a basement?"

When he moved those useless metal objects away, Peter did discover something strange.

It seemed that due to years of disrepair, plus the excessive weight of these metal objects.

The wooden floor below had been crushed, revealing a hole.

Peter couldn't help lying on the floor and peering inside through the hole. He could vaguely see a flight of stairs leading deeper down, but it was pitch black down there and he couldn't see what was inside clearly.

"It's really a mysterious basement. Could it be left behind by my parents?"

At this moment, Peter couldn't help but feel some curiosity in his heart.

After all, this body's parents were assassinated because of their scientific research.

"Whatever, I'll just go down and take a look first."

Peter didn't believe this suddenly discovered basement could pose any danger to him. After all, this wasn't some ancient grave or dungeon, how could there be so many mechanisms and dangers?

Then, Peter found a flashlight and used a hammer to enlarge the hole enough for him to climb through. Then he carefully climbed down.

Going deeper down the stairs, Peter's feet soon touched solid ground. Relying on the flashlight's beam, he continued slowly moving deeper inside.

"What's that? A dinosaur egg?"

As Peter carefully went deeper, he discovered that at the end of the basement, there was no lab. Instead, there was an oval "giant egg".

But when he got closer, he finally confirmed.

"No, this isn't an egg. It seems to be... a spaceship!"
