Chapter 133 The Decisive Li Yue

Kaecilius hadn't seen Li Yue come to protect the sanctum with Ancient One. Kaecilius was secretly thankful: he was still a little reluctant to fight Li Yue.

"Wait, how is the sky back to normal? Why did Lord Dormammu suddenly leave Earth?"

Kaecilius surprise from meeting Li Yue was soon replaced by the incredulity from the absence of Dormammu's dark energy.

"Repent, Kaecilius. It is over. The Dormammu that you worshiped had been expelled from Earth!" Mordo immediately shouted when he saw the change in Kaecilius' face.

"What did you just say? What have you done?"

Kaecilius couldn't maintain his composure. His memory ended right after the Dark Dimension began descending into Earth and Ancient One suddenly unleashed an unknown spell.

The next thing he knew was the current situation. Ancient One was gone, replaced by two men and a woman. One of them was Li Yue, but he never met the other two.

"What have we done? We stopped your heresy!

"Your actions have endangered the entire world. Without us to stop you, Dormammu would have consumed the planet, killing countless innocents! Their blood would be in your stupid hands! Do you realize what you have done?"

Mordo was livid, and disappointed. He had respected Kaecilius as fellow Mage, but he didn't expect that Kaecilius would've done something so stupid and reckless.

Kaecilius had no idea where Ancient One had gone, and he had a gap in his memory, but he knew very well from his time as a Mage that Ancient One must've used a time-related magic to solve the crisis.

"What do you know? This is the only way that my wife and children could return. Even the lives of all humans on Earth was a paltry price to pay for resurrecting my family!"

Kaecilius' tone was full of sadness. Tears even flowed from his eyes, but they only flowed for his wife and children! He completely ignored the fact that if Dormammu successfully invaded Earth, countless other wives and children would also die!

"But it's too late now... Because of you, I lost the only chance to revive my family, the only chance to meet them again!"

Wrath filled Kaecilius' eyes. He looked at Li Yue and the others with fiery eyes, as if he was about to incinerate everyone in front of him!

Kaecilius had no idea how, but his plan to revive his wife and children had failed, and the culprits were these people in front of him. His heart held nothing more than anger right now.

Kaecilius had been obsessed with resurrecting his family, and he had gone through countless hardship. He was willing to sacrifice anything just for the glimmer of hope that Dormammu gave him.

But now, even that glimmer of hope had been completely destroyed.

"You stopped me from resurrecting my wife and children, so I will bury you with them!"

Blinded by anger, Kaecilius no longer had any intent for peaceful resolution. With a gesture from his hands, he summoned a translucent ice-like dagger in his hand.

He was currently in the Mirror Dimension that Li Yue had created, but he was no longer able to forcefully transform the environment. This was the most that he could do.

Kaecilius held the spatial energy blade in his hand and charged towards his opponents. The fury in his heart culminated into a single thought: tear these people to pieces so they could join his wife and children in death.

"Sigh, are you serious! Even if Dormammu had successfully descended, he had no power to revive your family. The eternal life that he promised was a lie, as he was himself dependent on the life forces of planets and fools like you to stay alive.

"How could something like that give you eternal life? There's only one outcome that would happen if Dormammu successfully descended on Earth. You will all become his food, becoming dark energy in the Dark Dimension!"

Li Yue sighed. To be honest, Li Yue admired Kaecilius a little. He admired the courage and conviction, the fearless charge that made Kaecilius go so far as letting Dormammu invade Earth. He admired the reckless faith needed to see all the life on Earth as nothing more than a tool and a sacrifice for a goal.

But admiration differs from agreement. Li Yue sympathized with Kaecilius. However, sadness is not a valid reason for hatred!

Li Yue obviously opposed Kaecilius' readiness to sacrifice all the life on Earth to achieve a goal. And now, Kaecilius even stubbornly fought against him.

"Sigh, I hope you can have a happy and peaceful life with your family next time!"

Li Yue blurted out a 'eulogy.'

"...eh? Didn't I just promise that I won't bless the next person that I kill? Why can't I hold myself back..."

Li Yue felt a chill in his heart. Was he addicted to blessing dead people? Why couldn't he change this habit?

But Li Yue had no time to contemplate this matter. Kaecilius had almost reached him. He jumped up and slashed down with the spatial blade in his hand.

Red light suddenly flashed from Li Yue's eyes, right as Kaecilius jumped. Two red energy beam shot like a laser from Li Yue's eyes, hitting Kaecilius in mid air.

There was no way to change trajectory mid-jump, and Li Yue's beam was extremely fast. Kaecilius barely had any time to register that Li Yue was attacking him, and despite his best effort, he failed to evade the red beams.

Kaecilius' body fell from the ground, unmoving. A hole pierced through his heart, produced by Li Yue's thermal sight.

Of course, Li Yue held back on his beam power. He didn't want Kaecilius to explode and scatter viscera anywhere! He wasn't like Homelander: he preferred to keep his enemies' corpses intact!

Kaecilius was instantly dead!

The people that saw the scene unfold looked back and forth between Li Yue's still-glowing eyes and the corpse on the ground. They were shocked beyond belief!

"Li Yue, how did you become... Bah!"

Captain America began to say something, but he decided against it. He kept his silence after sighing once more.

Wong and Mordo also stared at Li Yue in shock, but they didn't say anything. They turned their eyes at Kaecilius, who was lying on the ground with a hole through his heart, and felt a chill down their spine.

Annie did not look at the corpse on the ground, but slowly approached Li Yue, silently expressing her approval.

The silent moments that they shared brought forth different opinions between different people.

"Damn, you've only gone for a month, yet you've become this strong and even got some new skills. How did you get them? Did you replace your eyes? How did you make the beams? You've got to let me get those eyes under a microscope!"

There were two other people in the scene. Tony the Iron Man stayed true to his character and even joked around with Li Yue, as if the scene that just happened was a normal occurrence!

Thor was used to life and death situation, but he didn't say anything. He killed countless enemies across the nine realms and had seen all kinds of cruel scenes. This was just another day in Thor's life!

Even so, Thor was still curious about the laser beam that shot out of Li Yue's eyes!
