118 Return To Marvel
Annie stared at Li Yue in surprise when she heard what he had just said. She then realized that it was his ability that he used yesterday. He went all the way to China to buy breakfast. Only someone with Li Yue's enviable power could do it!
"It's not bad!"
Annie did not seem to dislike the combination of deep-fried breadsticks and soybean milk. She ate them with a smile on her face!
"Well, as long as you like it."
Li Yue sighed in relief. There was nothing that he needed to go out and about to do anymore.
"Annie, imagine a world with many superheroes like this one, but unlike the Supes of this world, they hid their identities. And they didn't use their superhero identity to gather wealth and power!
"They all have their own normal lives, doing superhero jobs as a hobby. Some of them even struggled with their lives. But they all worked towards the common goal of protecting innocent people from the threats of villains.
"Even though they are superheroes, they aren't universally admired. Some people even cursed and insulted the superheroes that saved them. Yet these superheroes kept rushing to the forefront of danger to save the world.
"Although there are many superheroes in that world, there are even more villains, and even existences stronger than Homelander. A snap of their fingers can destroy half of the universe. The world was constantly threatened, and you could suddenly die while doing nothing at home!
"If you can go to that world and become a superhero there to protect the world with like-minded companions, will you go?"
Li Yue asked Annie while she ate her breakfast.
"I probably will. I don't have relatives in this world anymore, after all. And this world doesn't need a superhero like me.
"I didn't get this superpower of my own accord; it was a decision my parents forced on me. But to become a superhero and use my power to protect others was my own choice," Annie replied after thinking for a second.
"If you can bring me to that world, I will follow you...Haha, but there's no way such a world existed!"
Annie suddenly laughed. Why was she thinking so hard about such a ridiculous question?

A week passed like a gentle breeze. Li Yue spent the last few days idling at his home.
Annie also settled down at Li Yue's place. She no longer worked at Vought. After all that happened, she would never go anywhere near Vought International again.
Vought International had contacted Annie a few days ago to urge her to return, but suddenly they were preoccupied with a joint investigation by the CIA and FBI, who had obtained a sample of Compound V.
The sudden complication in their affairs made them unable to care about a minor superhero like Annie stopping to go to work.
In the original show, Vought was saved from this crisis by the sudden appearance of Super-Terrorist that stirred trouble at the right moment.
But Li Yue had destroyed the super-terrorist with his Kamehameha. It was unknown whether Vought International still had tricks up their sleeves, but that was out of Li Yue's hands.
When Li Yue saw the news about the joint investigation into Vought, he immediately realized that Billy and the others must've gotten the Compound V sample that they had promised. He believed that they would contact him soon!
...
"Sir, Billy is calling. Do you want to answer?"
"Answer it!"
Sure enough, Dummy's voice suddenly chimed. Li Yue picked up the phone, and a familiar voice came from the other side!
"I got what you want. Come and get it! But don't forget your promise!"
"Okay, I will be right there!
"Annie, I have to go out for a while."
Li Yue stood up from the sofa and spoke to Annie before giving orders to Dummy!
"Dummy—"
"Sir, projecting the target location!"
"You really understand me, Dummy!"
Dummy had projected the satellite image before Li Yue could even finish speaking. Li Yue was rather shocked. Dummy seemed to become more intelligent by the second.
Li Yue didn't think too much about it and immediately teleported away from the room.

Billy was sitting on a park bench with a suitcase in his hand. He suddenly realized that he wasn't alone right after he put his phone down.
"You're here. I got the thing in the case, but you'd have to bring me to my wife first. Also, don't think about taking it by force. There's a bomb inside; it would explode if you try anything funny. You'd lose everything!"
Billy maintained his poker face, but his eyes were filled with shock. It was not normal for someone to suddenly appear beside him like Li Yue just did.
"Well, I already promised you, so you didn't have to waste your time with this stuff. Let's go meet your wife.
"But I'll warn you, whatever happened between you two, don't get me tangled in it!"
Li Yue gave a warning to Billy; he was afraid that Billy's unstable emotions would cause the man to blow the case when he met his wife!
"By the way, the weather's getting chilly. Why don't you get a hat? Green represents good health; it would fit you nicely!"
"Huh? What would I need a hat for? Just take me to my wife, dammit! I'll drive, so lead the way!"
"Alright, alright, I'll take you there! I need to touch you, though, so don't overreact."
Ignoring Billy's bewilderment, Li Yue placed his hand on Billy's shoulder.
A gentle breeze swept up a leaf, which fell onto the bench that Li Yue and Billy had sat on just a moment ago!

Li Yue and Billy reappeared on a dark green lawn. Billy looked around him in disbelief.
However, he instantly froze when he saw a figure that he had spent many days and nights agonizing about standing in front of him.
"Well, there she is. Now give me the box."
Billy mechanically handed the suitcase to Li Yue, his eyes still glued to the distant figure.
Li Yue opened the case, confirming that there were eight vials with blue liquid inside of it. He nodded in satisfaction, took the vials out, and threw the case aside before instantly disappearing.
Li Yue wasn't in the mood to watch their tearful reunion. His mission was accomplished, so he should just go back.
Billy was left alone to face his wife and the little child that stood beside her!
...
"Annie, are you sure that you want to go with me? I can't guarantee that I can bring you safely to that world since this is the first time that I even tried this. I can't be 100% sure," Li Yue said solemnly while looking into Annie's eyes.
"Of course, I'm sure. I don't have anything that I care about in this world. I also wanted to see for myself whether those real superheroes that I aspire to actually exist!"
Annie bravely returned Li Yue's gaze, her eyes filled with determination.
"Alright, grab my hand, and don't let go. Close your eyes. The next time I tell you to open your eyes, you will be in a different world!"
Li Yue held Annie's hand tightly in his right hand. His left hand was holding a box with Compound V's samples.
He began to channel the starry sky in his soul. As the first star shone brighter and brighter, a blue portal appeared behind him and Annie, swallowing them both.
"Marvel Universe, Li Yue has returned!"
