34 CH-34: Bad Guys & Worse Guys

After the disagreement between Felicia and Fox was resolved with a surprise announcement of a heist, things started to go relatively smoothly.

Fox, being his petty self, began giving us the cold shoulder and pushed us harder in training.

Meanwhile, I found myself in a dilemma about whether to sell the vibranium or keep it for future use.

Selling it would fetch me billions, but there was also the potential for using it later, even though I had no idea how to work with it. So, I was stuck in a state of indecision.

Regardless, the heist that Fox had planned was scheduled to take place in just two weeks, which left us with a tight timeframe.

Felicia and I sat in the library with Fox, ready to discuss the details of the upcoming operation.

The old man opened a map on the table, displaying various blueprints and layouts.

"So, what's the job?" Felicia eagerly asked, scanning through the multiple frames.

"Corporate espionage." Fox sighed, pinning pictures of people on a board.

"I didn't know we did that." I raised an eyebrow, questioning his choice.

"It's part of the gig." Fox shook his head absentmindedly.

"Elite stuff." Felicia grinned mischievously. "I love it."

"Alright, listen up." Fox called us in, his hands pointing to a specific building design.

"Our target is a highly secured and classified hard drive containing Alchemax's latest supersoldier serum project." Fox explained.

"Supersoldier serum?" I leaned forward, captivated by the subject.

"Yeah, the American military finally lifted restrictions on the Supersoldier project, triggering an arms race in the private sector. Every major biochemical corporation is vying for the deal."

"And what's our role in this?" Felicia asked, twirling her hair while studying the blueprints.

"Alchemax is hosting an investor's meeting at Hotel Lux in Las Vegas." Fox smiled, pointing to an image of a building illuminated by bright lights.

"The hard drive will be in the possession of Tyler Stone, the vice president of Alchemax." He gestured to the next picture of a middle-aged man.

"The guy from the museum." I chimed in, recognizing him.

"Exactly." Fox nodded.

"But I thought the event only allowed guests with special invitations." Felicia expressed her doubt.

"That's true." Fox agreed, turning around to retrieve a file he had kept hidden from us until now.

"That's why I've already secured the invitations under your disguises." He grinned, revealing the invites.

"Disguises?" I questioned.

"Yes, the attendees are the wealthiest individuals in the medical sector. Did you really think they'd be fooled by a standard tuxedo?" He scoffed.

"This file contains everything you need to know about the people you'll be impersonating."

Fox handed a file to both of us.

I opened it and looked at the contents, my eyes widening in shock, and my jaw dropped.

"Victor Von Doom." I read the name aloud. "The Prince of Latveria."

"Soon to be king." Fox quipped with a smirk.

"Hold on a minute!" I exclaimed, dropping my file and standing up. "I have to play him? According to the file, he's supposed to be in college."

"So?" Fox asked, seemingly unaware of the problem.

"How can I..." I gestured to my height and physique, "...pull off him?"

"What do you think someone would dare say about the height of a prince? Nobody would risk offending an entire nation." Fox scoffed. "Trust me, it won't be an issue."

"Well, I suppose you have a point." I conceded, though still harboring some doubts about the role.

Sighing, I perused the file once again, which detailed every aspect of Victor Von Doom's character.

'Extreme narcissist, self-obsessed, and obnoxious.' Yep, that sounds like the Doom I know from the comics.

"What did you get?" I curiously asked Felicia.

"Take a look." She grumbled, shooting a glare at Fox before passing me her file.

I blinked as I looked at her file and the picture of the woman—or rather, girl—she was supposed to impersonate.

"Silvija Sablinova." I smirked. "Princess of Symkaria."

Talk about fate.

"Duchess in line." Fox added once again.

"I can definitely see the resemblance." I mumbled, handing back the picture.

She bore a striking resemblance to Felicia, though her eyes were turquoise blue while Felicia's were jade green. Additionally, her hair appeared much wavier compared to Felicia's.

"Hmm, I wonder what conditioner she uses to make her hair so glowy." Felicia mumbled, comparing her hair with Sable's.

"Throw some glitter on it." I jokingly advised. Felicia deadpanned and playfully flipped me the middle finger.

"You can read through that later. Now, let's focus." Fox ordered, diverting our attention away from the files.

"We each have specific roles in this mission." He explained. "Tyler will be carrying the case containing the drive, and to open it, we'll need the key, which will be in the possession of his assistant, Rachel."

He tossed an injection to Felicia, filled with a quick out formula.

"Knock her and take the key." He instructed, and Felicia nodded.

"Eddy, you'll be on heavy duty." I smirked at his words. "If things go south, you step in."

"What about before that?" I asked.

"Your task is to distract, watch out for variables, and keep everyone's eyes on you. But make sure it's only until they see you. The moment you walk away, they shouldn't remember your face." Fox explained, and I nodded with a confident grin.

"Any questions?"

"What's on the drive?" Felicia inquired.

"It contains information about offshore experiments, illegal labs, and classified data. In short, anything that would entice the investors." Fox replied.

"So, we're going to steal from the bad guys." Felicia said, her excitement evident.

[My favorite kind of prey.]

'Oh, do you have favorites in brains?'

[No, everything is good, but you feel less remorse when it's a bad guy.]

"In this line of work, Felicia, there are no good guys." Fox sighed, folding his arms across his chest.

"There are only bad guys and worse guys."

[Awesome!]
