Stephan opened his eyes in shock for a while as he noticed that he had finally ranked up.

His eyes fell upon the bodies of Frank and Mr. Barnes that lay there like dry corpses.

Stephan was about to rush out of the house, but his eyes landed on a huge bag that was under the table where the two drug lords sat at.

"This was what they were negotiating about?" Stephan thought and rushed up towards the duffle bag and zipped down the zipper.

"holy SH*T" Stephan's eyes widened in shock as he saw thousands and thousands of paper bills in this bag, it was hard to estimate the overall amount.

Stephan held back his greed and threw the bag into his inventory before dashing out of the door which was wide open due to the strippers which had run out manically.

he couldn't stay here too long, or else he would be caught.

As Stephan moved through the night like a fleeting cloud, the system's holographic screen appeared in front of his face.

"I got new skills?" Stephan became excited as he traveled through the darkness of the woods, rushing far and far away from the scene, making sure to not leave any tracks behind.

Stephan multitasked as he fled, with his mind he could easily switch between the system screens easily and notice everything with his bizarre eyesight.

After opening his status screen, Stephan pressed the first ability which had appeared.

A holographic screen appeared, displaying the use of the ability.

Hypnosis was very self-explanatory, Stephan could control the minds of any regular human for a short amount of time, and this was a good way to erase the memories of witnesses who caught him in illegal acts.

"Now the next one" Stephan clicked on the next skill after rereading the hypnosis skill's introduction once more.

[Shape-shifting: Transform into a cloud of bats, a singular bat, or a small bat, can also change into a mist or smoke-like cloud form]

Stephan had a look of realization after seeing this ability, it was what he had been looking forward to for a while now.

Being able to transform into a cloud of smoke or a swarm of bats was not only good for disguising himself, but it was also good for spying and many other things.

As Stephan was about to test out the ability, the system's holographic screen appeared once more.

Stephan read this message on his screen and couldn't hide the shock and anticipation on his face, but this wasn't the right time to be choosing these abilities right now.

"I'll choose a safer spot" Stephan said as he hid within the crown of a tree.

[Understood!] The system replied mechanically and the bright holographic screen disappeared from the void.

After gaining the two basic abilities, Stephan understood how to use them easily, almost as if they were imprinted deep into his cells, it was a strange feeling.

As Stephan stood atop a tree, he released a sigh of cold air and raised his head to look at the night sky.

with a light leap from the tree, his figure shifted strangely and he turned into a swarm of bats which shot off into the coldness of the night.

Back at the drug house which Stephan had raided, a bunch of police cars had surrounded the house.

But the police officers didn't dare go in, after all this place was famous and was in their records, these drug lords had access to many big guns, and it would be a loss on the police department's side if any of their officers were killed.

but, since they got a report at this time of the night about the strange happenings inside the building, they had no choice but to come and investigate.

little did they know that everyone inside had already been killed by some strange creature.

A middle-aged police officer stood behind the door of his car as he had his gun pointed out, vigilantly looking towards the door of the house which was left ajar.

"Sir, reporting in, there seem to be no signs of movements inside there, almost as if there is no one inside" A young police officer appeared at the side of the older police officer while speaking respectfully.

hearing this, the older police officer frowned and picked up his walkie-talkie to communicate with his superior.

"tell the others, We have no choice but to check it out but tell them to be careful as they approach," The older police officer said after ending the line on the walkie-talkie.

Just like that, the group of police officers who were armed with guns walked into the house and couldn't help but widen their eyes at the two dead bodies on the first floor.

"T-This is Fredrick Barnes? A well-known drug lord?" The older Police officer said as he looked at a document that one of his officers had brought to him.

As much as he didn't want to believe that this shriveled-up and mummified-looking body was the body of a troublesome yet slightly well-known drug lord, he had no reason but to believe it after seeing the resemblance of the pictures.

now the biggest question right now was, who or what did this?
