16 Ch16

"Wait, maybe we can..." Mike wasn't even able to complete his sentence before Ino enhanced her body with chakra, swiftly picked him up (bridal style), and jumped out of the window.

"No, noooooo!"

A scream escaped Mike's mouth as Ino accelerated from 0 to 60 in a single jump.

Ino easily landed on top of others before she continued traveling ninja style by hoping from one roof to another as her speed continued to increase.

"Aaaaaaaah!"

"Oh, just stop screaming already," Ino said frustratedly as she stopped in front of the inn where they were staying.

Mike immediately jumped away from her embrace and calmed himself down before looking at her sternly. "We are never talking about this."

"And why should I do that?" Ino asked in a smug tone as she and Mike entered the inn with their invisibility still on.

"If you do so, I never told anyone what you were doing with my body," Mike said as a shameful look appeared on her face before replacing it with a neutral one.

"I did no such thing, don't accuse me of such thing," Ino replied in a neutral tone.

"Really? You think I wouldn't notice you folding my ass just because I was screaming for my life?"

'Yes,' Ino almost shouted in rage as her impulsive action were exposed before she forcefully calmed herself down.

She knew it was an irrational move, but you can't expect a young girl like her to resist such beefy meat in her hands.

But that doesn't mean she would accept her mistake and let him have ammunition against her.

"And even if I have done something like that, which I have not. You were the one that started it. I was just returning a favor...with some interest."

Hearing her words, Mike sighed as he had listened to the same kind of words good know how many times, so he had a good idea how it was going to end.

'And I don't want that.'

So, Mike did want one should do in this type of situation, "Look, can we just not talk about this whole situation? No need to point fingers. Let's just forget this ever happened."

Since they both are at some fault, burying this matter is the best solution.

"I can agree on that, but you will owe me one," Ino said as a grin appeared on her face.

"No," Mike plainly replied.

"Don't worry, I will ask nothing excessive."

"Still, no," Mike said, "I don't want to owe you a favor. God knows what you will ask."

"I already said. I said nothing excessive." Ino replied in a tone that clearly indicated that she was not going to back down.

'Fucking headstrong girls.'

"Just tell me what you goddamn want," Mike said in a slightly frustrated tone.

'These teenage hormones will be the death of me.'

.

"So, you found out where the anomaly is hiding?" Zatanna asked with a strange experience on her face.

It feels a bit too easy, like they have been in this world for two days, and they have already found their target.

'And I don't know why, but it just doesn't seem right to me,' Zatanna thought.

"Yeah, he is in the most obvious place," Ino replied with a grin.

"The Winterfell in the North, right?" Zoro asked lazily.

"How do you know?" Ino asked in a shocked manner.

"Word is on the street that a miracle healer lives in Winterfell. He heals almost anyone for a few coppers or a silver coin. He is also teaching others about basic medical knowledge." Zoro said, "Well, at least basic for us."

"You seriously found out about it on the street?" Gray asked in confusion.

Zoro shrugs, "You will never believe what else you can find if you keep one of your ears down on the street."

"So, we have a destination now," Mike said. "I will be able to get the spacecraft tomorrow.

"Then it will only be a matter of a few minutes to reach there."

"Oookay, today we relax, and tomorrow we will kill," Ino said enthusiastically.

But her enthusiasm was not shared by the other members of the team. As they all gave her a deadpan look.

"Seriously, you three have already killed. No need to hesitate now."

"It was by mistake," Zatanna and Gray shouted together.

"So you are telling me avenging your friend/teammate was a mistake?"

"Stop putting words in my mouth," Zatanna said sharply.

"I'm not putting anything. You were the only that said it in the first place."

"No, I didn't."

"Whatever you say, princess," Ino said with a shrug.

.

"So, you want to tell me why she is firing shots like that?" Zoro asked quietly.

"Other than you stealing her thunder with that info?" Mike asked. "You know, sometimes she likes to think she is the smartest person in the room, right?"

Zoro slowly nodded. That much he has observed. She is trying to establish herself as the brain of the group.

"So you stepped on her toe, and then Zee did the same thing in a different manner, and now she is taking it out on her," Mike said in a calm tone.

"So, shouldn't we do something?" Gray said as he also joined the conversation.

"You want. You can go and stop them," Mike said in an amused tone as he left the room with Zoro.

Gray just took one look at them and muttered, "Na, I'm good." and left the room.

.

"You don't have to be so mean there," Zatanna said with a pout to her partner as they both walked around the market.

"It was the only way. Otherwise, they would have asked you to train with them."

"And you have to be genuine in anger for it to work. Otherwise, Zoro would have seen right through you," Ino remarked, her eyes fixated on a tempting display of exotic fruits.

Zatanna nodded in agreement, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "Indeed, he is the most perceptive of them."

"He has to be. He wants to thrive as a bounty hunter," Ino quipped, a playful glint in her eyes.

"True, but it's amusing how he remains utterly clueless when it comes to directions," Zatanna added with a chuckle, prompting Ino to join in the laughter.

As they get near the fruit stall, Ino stops and asks while pointing to an orange-like fruit. "How much for these?"

The stall owner looks at her for a second before bowing his head and replying, "A halfpenny each, milady."

"This one?"

"It's also halfpenny each."

"And that one?"

"That a penny each."

Ino nodded, "Okay, pack ten of each." The shopkeeper complied as he packed the best-looking fruits for her before passing them over.

"That would be 5 groats, milady."

Ino simply passed her two star-marked copper coins and one groat-marked copper coin while asking, "Can you also tell me where I can find a good flower shop?"

"Sure, Milady. Just to..."

.

As they continue to room around, Ino brings out a small kunai and cuts the orange one in two before passing one to Zatanna, "Here, try it."

"Hmm, it's good."

"So, something interesting happened when you were searching for info." Ino quipped, a playful glint in her eyes.

"No, it was boring. What about you? You infiltrated a noble house. Something interesting must have happened," Zatanna asked with a mischievous smile on her lips.

"Nothing much happened there, but when Mike and I were escaping, I got a good show," Ino replied with a playful smile on her face.

"Ohhh, what show?"

"Not telling," Ino denied before pointing toward a decent flower shop in the middle.

.

Meanwhile, the boys we out of town, into the deep woods, having a sparring match against each other to test each other's skills.

And it was to no one's surprise that Zoro was beating the crap out of them in close combat for the past fifteen spars.

"Are you ready?" Gray asks as the eighth match between them is about to begin.
