6 Chapter 6

Arc 1: Character Creation

...

Consequently, the [Complications] page was also the last page of this Character Creation as I was able to see a small grey button at the end of the page which read 'Start Adventure' written on it. But as it was greyed out, I had to balance things out before starting.

[Complications-]

[Marked (+1pt per faction): Your arrival has somehow managed to seriously piss off some organization of your choosing. So much so that they won't stop at anything just to kill you. These organisations HAVE to be an important part of the overall plot and you can't choose some random two-bit gang. You can also take this only upto three times at max.]

[Pint Sized (+1pt): Your body has been regressed to your child version (6 - 10 years old). Nobody will take you seriously and most adults would seriously try to hamper your goals if they are dangerous, 'to protect you'. You will also have to go to the shit show that was school, so would you really want that? You can't reverse this by any means and if you want to grow up then you have to do it the long and natural way.]

[Sinful (+1pt): You will become incredibly lusty and horny to the point that it borders on criminal.]

[Illness (+1pt): You have a annoying and bothersome illness that can't be cured, no matter what way or object you use. The illness will bother and annoy you at every step and will never ever go away.]

[Gender-Bending (+1pt): Exactly as it sounds, your original gender is flipped to its opposite.]

[Castrated (+2pts): Your PP is cut off. You will even feel it being cut off and this Complication will make sure you'll never forget it.]

[Tripped (+1pt): You become a natural klutz. Your feet trips at the most unopportune of moments. This complication makes sure that you can't fix this no matter the way.]

[Geass (+1 to +2pts): You've been given a psychological limitation that can't be removed, just to keep things interesting. For +1pt it's merely annoying (you may not speak, you may not tell a lie, you gain an utterly arbitrary phobia/berserk button). For +2pts this can endanger your life fairly regularly (must follow the orders of any lawful authority figure, homicidal split personality, total pacifism).]

[Destructive Impulse (+2pts): By taking this you gain an unbelievably strong urge strong urge for conflict. Once every few months you will be overcome by this urge, needing to participate in some significant conflict or destruction. This urge can be delayed temporarily but can never be completely overcome, regardless of your willpower.]

[Metaknowledge? What Metaknowledge? (+2pts): You will forget any and all metaknowledge that you have of you [World Setting]. Note that you will still have knowledge of other medias but just not the one you will stay in. Eg. If your [World Setting] is Naruto Universe then you will only forget everything Naruto related, even Boruto, fanfics, fanons and other spin offs.]

[Enemy (+5pts): You have an enemy who hates you with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. This enemy has the same points as you and can buy any powers, perks and complications they like, the same as you. You won't know about the identity of the enemy until you discover it yourself or they reveal themselves to you.]

[You Needed Worthy Opponents (+3pts per Monster): An inhuman being whose nature and abilities are specifically meant to oppose you emerges because of your presence and power, and it strikes wherever doing so damages your cause and goals the most. It appears within a month of the beginning of your adventure, announcing itself with a ferocious assault on your location. It might not even be alone, every additional year seeing the emergence of another one. These Beings follow their own schedule of attack and care nothing for whatever stands in the way of their targets. This Complication grants 3pts for each Monster, and you take it as many times as you like. They will never be easy to defeat and you cannot avoid confrontation with them.]

[Bad Crossover (+3pts): You [World Setting] will be a crossover with a random 'Death World'. For eg. SCP, Lovecraft, My Little Pony (Eldritch Abomination Mode).]

[Everything Gets Worse (+4pts): Something random changes within your [World Setting] which causes everything to spiral towards chaos. In your case, it could be anything from Tony Stark not being born,

Captain America failing to defeat Red Skull, Ultron winning, Zombie Apocalypse, Dormammu descending on Earth, a Thanos that wants to kill ALL life and many, many more. Yeah you have your work cut out for you. Eg. Like DC's Dark Multiverse, where if something can go wrong then it WILL go wrong, the same applies here.]

...

Man, after reading this I am so grateful that I didn't take many powers and perks...

Because most of the complications that I read here were Cruel.

Cruel with a capital C.

Of course, there were some tame ones too like [Marked], [Pint Sized], [Gender Bending] and [Geass].

Hell! Even [Metaknowledge? What Metaknowledge?] was immeasurably better than some of the other stuff.

But while I was happy that I hadn't taken too many or expensive things, I was also a bit disappointed as I now realise that I could've taken a few more one-pointers or even two-pointers.

'I should've taken [Big PP].' I shook my head(?) in regret but as I said you can't change the past and only prepare for the future.

Plus, it was not good to be too Greedy.

So firstly, let's rule out what I wasn't going to take.

The obvious ones first, [Metaknowledge? What Metaknowledge?], [Bad Crossover], [You Needed Worthy Opponents], [Enemy] and [Everything Gets Worse].

The first one was an obvious no, cause why the heck would I want to give up perhaps my only guarantee of success!?

The saying 'Knowledge Is Power' is a very good example of why I wasn't going to take it.

The second one cause I didn't want to risk having to deal with an eldritch abomination version of My Little Pony.

Ponies were already scary as is, no need for an eldritch abomination version of them.

*shivers*

Yeah, no thanks.

And yes, if you're wondering, I'm afraid of Ponies. Laugh it all up.

It was quite an interesting story too by the way (If you want to know).

Me and my family were on vacation in Sweden and were going to try Horse riding but since I was too small then (and the horses were all rented out), my parents decided to let me ride a Pony.

As soon as I got in close proximity with that... Thing, it bit my hand and chewed it like I was it's favourite candy.

It also forever scarred my young adolescent self both mentally and physically and made me forever afraid of Ponies.

I still had the scar to prove it.

Well, I can't right now since I don't really have a body anymore... But it's the thought that matters, right?

So yeah, better not risk it.

I didn't want to deal with someone that was a perfect counter to me, it sounded very annoying, frustrating and counterproductive.

I mean, why would you WANT to make an enemy that was a perfect counter to you or had the same powers as you?

So [You Needed Worthy Opponents] & [Enemy] were out too.

[Everything Gets Worse] also wasn't much better for the same reasons as [Metaknowledge? What Metaknowledge?].

And not to mention the few cruel ones that were present.

[Castrated] sounded painful and perhaps only a masochist would choose it.

And I didn't want to become a sexual harrassing monster by taking [Sinful].

So what do I take? I was only in need for 2 points afterall so there was no real need to take a truly bad complications.

And after thinking over it, I chose to take [Marked] two times, one for The Ten Rings and one for Kingpin.

It was the tamest and easiest [Complication] among the above mentioned ones.

Sure it would make me some enemies, but they will be relatively easy to defeat.

I would've chosen 'H.Y.D.R.A' rather than 'The Ten Rings' but Mr. Screen explained that I couldn't take it because by Age Of Ultron they were almost destroyed anyway.

And I didn't nearly know much about the HAND to be comfortable in taking it.

===============

And Done!

I'm sorry it took this long to get this chapter out but I wanted to end this arc as fast as I could.

I wouldn't say more here as the last chapter of this arc will come out in a few hours (it's complete btw).

Why not now?

Well, mostly to create anticipation.

Presentation is an important element in this afterall.

Share what complications you would've chosen if you were in Sam's shoes!

Please leave some good reviews and Power Stones! They motivate me to write a chapter much quicker!

So See Ya Soon!
