48 Chapter 48: Final Battle (2)

Facing Ares, Jack mustered all his energy, realizing that his opponent was much tougher than he had imagined.

Ares was incredibly strong, and his last attack had exceeded Jack's limits for absorbing energy.

He wished he had more time to practice his energy absorption skills, but for now, he had to focus on the task.

The only good news was that Ares probably couldn't use such an attack too many times without his axe.

So, Jack had to be wise, absorb energy when he could, and unleash it all at the right moment to defeat Ares.

Ares, on the other hand, didn't waste any time. He charges at Jack with a bellowing war cry.

"Damn it, I'm not afraid of you even with bare hands!"

Having made up his mind, seeing Ares' expression as if he wanted to kill him, Jack's temper grew, and he clenched his fist and rushed up.

Ares charges at Jack with his mighty fist, punching towards the him. Jack grins and braces himself, allowing the fist to connect with his body.

To Ares' surprise, Jack absorbs the impact of the blow, converting the kinetic energy into his strength. He then unleashes a powerful counterattack, sending Ares staggering backwards.

Ares roars in anger and charges again, swinging his punch with all his might. But Jack is too fast for him, dodging the attack and delivering a swift kick to Ares' side.

The two continue to trade blows, each landing powerful hits on the other. Jack's energy absorption makes him a formidable opponent, while Ares' brute strength and skill with his weapon are not to be underestimated.

The two of them began to fight like wild beasts in the arena, exchanging punches and kicks in a primitive and savage manner that excitedly the audience.

"It's incredible. Someone here can actually go hand to hand with Ares," Athena said as she stood up in the VIP room and walked over to the window to watch.

Even in Olympus, seeing someone who could fight Ares in hand-to-hand combat was rare.

Only the likes of the mighty Hercules could do so. And yet, here was someone who could go toe-to-toe with Ares in pure physical strength, taking dozens of punches without even avoiding

That was also the reason why she was amazed.

"He's very skilled, but he can't beat Ares!" Athena shook her head regretfully, returned to her seat on the sofa, and looked at Grandmaster. "He's about to lose, maybe even die."

"Die?" Grandmaster's eyes lit up at the mention of the word. "Perfect, my brother has wanted to buy his body for a long time, but he just hasn't died yet. When will he die?"

At this point, Grandmaster looked at Athena with great expectation.

"It should be soon, depending on how long Ares wants to play," Athena said with a mysterious smile, seeming to look forward to what would happen next.

Meanwhile, in the arena, Jack also gradually felt that something was wrong. With his energy absorption ability, he could perfectly absorb and return all of Ares' punches.

So although it seemed like they were evenly matched, in reality, Ares was only fighting against himself.

What made him uneasy was that Ares' punches were increasing in strength and multiple.

This realization made Jack's heart skip a beat. If Ares continued to increase his strength limitlessly, he would eventually be able to knock him out with a single punch. He had to strike first.

"I'll take the risk!"

With a determined grit of his teeth, Jack punched Ares again and focused all of his energy into his right fist.

He used his body's advantage to dodge Ares' punch, and with his left foot stepped forward, he delivered a lightning-fast punch full of all of his energy, hitting Ares in the stomach.

The shockwave created by the sonic boom swept over them. Ares was thrown back like a bullet, and in an instant, he flew to the other side of the arena and hit the audience standing below with a loud crash.

With Ares' point of impact as the center, cracks spread out in all directions, quickly covering half of the audience hall.

Some people noticed something was wrong and tried to leave but sadly realized there were too many people on site and nowhere to go.

As the audience panicked, the wall finally gave way and collapsed.

The scene was chaotic, and a corner of the arena had turned into ruins. Thousands of people were trapped underneath.

"Ha~"

Jack half-knelt on the ground, gasping for air. This time, he had used up all of his energy, stored for two months. It was no small amount, and when he released it all at once, few people could resist it.

But Jack didn't think that Ares would just give up like that.

As expected, just at that moment!

"Boom~ Ahhh!!!"

A tall figure flew into the air from the ruins, and fists clenched tightly and fiercely slamming toward Jack,

"Can't you let me catch my breath?!"

Jack's face turned bitter, but he still dodged to the side.

Boom!

Ares landed heavily on the ground, creating a large pit. Before Jack could turn around, a huge fist emerged from the thick smoke and struck him in the back.

"Ah!"

In an instant, Jack felt an immense energy surge into his body. He activated his energy absorption ability to its fullest, barely managing to absorb the energy. Then he redirected the absorbed energy into the ground beneath his feet.

"Bang!"

An explosion at his feet moved Jack through the air while Ares remained firmly in place. Jack flew to the other side of the arena, creating a large hole in the wall before hitting the ground.

"Damn it!"

Quickly getting up from the ground, Jack touched his lower back with a lingering fear. That punch earlier almost broke him.

Seeing Ares glaring at him from the other side, Jack's heart sank. He had to win this fight no matter what, but Ares was just too powerful. To win, he would have to do whatever it takes.

"Since it's like this..."

Having made up his mind, Jack slowly raised his hands, and a hint of blue energy appeared on his body. As time passed, his whole body was soaked in blue, shining brightly.

Cosmic Cube energy was his trump card. He had always suppressed this energy in his body, afraid it would explode and kill or disable him.

But now, the situation was beyond his control.

In the VIP room, Grandmaster stood up as he saw this scene and leaned in front of the glass, excitedly watching Jack without blinking.

Athena next to him was similar. She was even more shocked than Grandmaster and kept muttering in her mouth. "This is impossible. This is impossible."

"This is possible!" Grandmaster turned to look at her and grinned, "This is why I bet on him to win!"

Although Ares wasn't a genius, he could sense danger. In his perception, Jack's threat to him was getting heavier and even reaching a life-and-death situation.

He knew he couldn't let Jack continue. Otherwise, he might die.

"Ah!!!"

Ares kicked off and charged toward Jack. The fist was aimed straight at his head.

It was either you die, or I die
