6 Chapter 6. Caution

Unfortunately, there was only one bottle of Chameleon Tea, and the effect was a little too short.

Otherwise, Ryan's plan could have been much more relaxed and simple.

With a slight regret in his heart, Ryan's hands kept moving.

Kingpin and his men, who left, may come back to check at any time. It wouldn't be easy for him to leave by then.

He went to the doll and took off its clothes. The Phantom Thief Kidd's doll was a fake, but the clothes it was wearing were the real deal. In addition to enhancing its appearance, the broad cloak was also an important escape tool in its own right, transforming into a simple glider for escape.

With a couple of movements from his hands, the cloak in his hands was transformed into a glider.

Ryan glanced back at the room behind him for the last time, then grabbed the cane in his hand and jumped down from the window.

Bang--

The howling wind blew the wings into inflated arcs.

In short, the cloak was converted into a glider. Although simple, the material was unexpectedly strong.

Manipulating the glider skillfully, it flew in a gorgeous arc in midair.

10 seconds later, Ryan managed to find a graffiti-strewn, deserted alleyway and landed.

Gathering the glider behind his body, Ryan glanced again at the cane in his hand.

Although seemingly unremarkable, how could this cane, as Kingpin's belonging, be an ordinary item?

Fumbling with the top of the cane, Ryan soon felt a slightly raised button on it and gave it a gentle push. The next thing he felt was a slight vibration in his hand, and then he saw a hole appear in the wall across the alleyway, with a stream of white smoke coming out of it.

Fortunately, he had no intention of confronting Kingpin from the beginning.

Ryan leaned in to look at the hole in the wall with an expression of more than a little gratitude on his face.

Luckily, he was well aware of the current gap between himself and Kingpin and didn't foolishly give his neck away. Otherwise, the hole in front of him may not appear on the wall but on his body.

Ryan didn't think that his current body was as strong as the wall, to the point where it could resist the laser.

He sighed at Kingpin's ferocity and his own wise thinking.

Ryan looked at the cane in his hand and tossed it straight into the garbage can in the alley.

The laser-emitting cane was certainly appealing, but Ryan hadn't forgotten that the cane came from Kingpin. God knows what else was in store besides the laser, and it was safer to just discard it rather than take it away and put himself in unnecessary danger.

What's more, with his own system, Ryan believed that he would definitely get something countless times better than the cane.

Throwing away the cane, Ryan didn't linger any longer. He immediately turned and left the alley.

A few minutes after Ryan went out of the alley...

Bullseye, dressed in black tights, appeared in the alleyway. He reached down and picked up the cane from the trash can, scanned the empty alleyway and soon saw the obvious laser mark on the wall. He took out his phone and dialed a number, "The guy was cautious, he abandoned the cane."

"In that case, come back with my cane." On the other end of the phone, Kingpin's voice rang out, "Starting today, tell all the forces throughout Manhattan; whoever brings me Phantom Thief Kid will receive favorable treatment from Kingpin."

As the rightful king of the underworld, Kingpin wasn't only powerful because of his own strength but also because of the vast and dangerous criminal kingdom he had built up with his own hands over the years.

Anyone who dared to oppose Kingpin would face a steady stream of attacks from the kingdom.

For example, the rival gangs in Manhattan and the vigilante, Daredevil, who never got tired of bothering him.

Now, Kingpin had added a new name to this list of enemies.

-- Phantom Thief Kid.

[Reputation points from Kingpin's bodyguard +0.03]

[Reputation points from Kingpin's bodyguard +0.04]

[Reputation points from Bullseye +25]

[Reputation points from Kingpin's bodyguard +0.01]

[Reputation points from Kingpin +50]

At this moment, Ryan, who was walking through Hell's Kitchen, couldn't hide the excitement in his heart as he watched the system prompt flashing in front of him.

Especially that last one from Kingpin, with a full 50 reputation points. It made Ryan sigh; his efforts weren't in vain.

Kingpin was truly worthy of his reputation as a villain in the Marvel world, and the points he received were just as powerful.

It even tempted Ryan to continuously collect points from Kingpin, if not for the danger he posed.

'I can't be too proud right now.'

Shaking his head and putting aside the messy thoughts in his head, Ryan took a glance at the [Reputation Points] in the system data panel, which was a little over a thousand, and suddenly couldn't resist his impulse to open a treasure chest.

Fortunately, Ryan also knew that his current location was in Hell's Kitchen, which wasn't a suitable place to open a treasure chest.

If nothing else, it was the most chaotic place in New York. Ryan was worried that opening a box here would affect his luck. Although, theoretically, a D-level character card could be obtained from the [Black Iron Treasure Chest], which cost 1,000 reputation points anyway.

But as Ryan had experienced from opening the [Wooden Treasure Chest] many times, even the same D-level character cards had their strengths and weaknesses.

For example, this E-rank card [Nohara Hiroshi] skill currently in Ryan's hand had no effect other than the odor of his feet. Yet, another E-level card, [Anzai Mitsuyoshi], gave Ryan the ability to do basketball tricks, although it still didn't do much.

Pushing down his innermost thoughts, Ryan quickened his pace and was on his way out of Hell's Kitchen.

Across the street, however, an oncoming figure caused him to slow himself down.

'Isn't that the man who had visited the antique shop before?'

Looking at the familiar back that hurried past, Ryan slightly frowned.

Although it was only a brief brush of the shoulder, he recognized the other man as the middle-aged man he had seen in the antique shop just a few days earlier.

However, at this point in time, the other party appeared on the streets of Hell's Kitchen at this point in time, with another look of broken desperation all over his face.

In any case, there was something odd about it.

'Should it be minded or not?'

Standing still, Ryan's gaze kept shifting between the system's data panel in front of him and the middle-aged man's back.

Eventually, that conversation he had earlier with Jack about desperate people...

Flashed through Ryan's mind.

He made a decision.

Then, he chose a direction and started walking.
