52 Chapter 52. Calling the Police.

"Sir, do you know where Villard is?"

On the streets of New York, Ah Xing, who was in two places at once, stopped a kind-looking old man and asked.

"Sorry, never heard of it." Shaking his head, the old man looked at Ah Xing's untidy appearance. He couldn't help feeling pity and caring, "Son, why are you looking for a place called Villard?"

"I'm looking for the legendary ultimate king of killers called the Beast."

"..."

[Reputation point from New York Citizen +0.01]

Ah Xing's reply instantly made the old man curb the concerned look on his face and slightly take a few steps backwards to avoid him, "Sorry, I can't help you. You should ask someone else."

Looking at the old man's hastily departing back, Ah Xing shook his head and then continued his enquiries, following the same steps he had taken before.

Compared to Ryan's other clone, Phantom Thief Kid, the Ah Xing clone was somewhat weaker in terms of points gathering, but there was nothing that could be done about it. After all, both of them were vastly different from each other in terms of skills and persona. Forcing Ah Xing to gain points in the same way as Phantom Thief Kid was somewhat of a stretch.

So, Ryan's arrangement for his alter-ego Ah Xing was not to cast a wide net like Phantom Thief Kid. Ryan's previous experience had taught him that doing good deeds, fighting crime, reaching out to superheroes or villains, and baiting them with a background like Peng Lai island, was the right way to collect reputation points for characters like Ah Xing.

As for his movements in the streets of New York right now, it was a bit of a diversion while he waited for the other two things to happen.

In the near future, Tony's big grin to the camera to indicate his role as Iron Man has taken place.

In New York, whether superhero or super-criminal activity, both were still done in secret. So, encountering both things wasn't that easy for the clone.

After moving through the streets of New York for a while, the clone didn't encounter any superheroes or criminals he was expecting but drew the attention of the police.

"Who called the police?"

Mercedes 'Misty' Knight, a black female officer who was nearby, arrived at the scene of the call and asked around.

"It's me." An old man stretched out his hand, then pointed to an Asian guy wearing a red sweatshirt not far away, "It's that strange guy over there. He kept stopping people and asked for a place called Villard. He stopped me too. When I asked him why he was looking for Villard, he told me it was to find some kind of legendary ultimate king of killers called the Beast."

"The Beast?"

Misty raised her eyebrows and glanced at the old man in front of her. The man hastily nodded, "It's true. Look, he's stopping someone else..."

"What's the matter?"

A little later, her partner Rafael Scarfe also arrived on the scene.

"This gentleman called the police and said that the Asian man over there told everyone he was looking for a killer called the Beast."

"The Beast? Gang related? Or a prank?"

"I wished it was a prank, but unfortunately, I think it's real." Misty shrugged her shoulders. Recently, Phantom Thief Kid's repeated crimes had messed with her focus, and now, she had to deal with trivial reports like this.

"Thank you for the report, Sir. Leave the rest to us." She said with some helplessness in her tone.

Nodding his head, he turned to look at 'Ah Xing' across the street. The old man warned Misty, and her partner, "You guys, be careful. I don't think he's an ordinary guy."

"Don't worry, we got this." Obviously, Misty didn't take the other party's reminder too seriously. She nodded perfunctorily and asked, "Sir, can you tell me your name? We need it for the record."

"It's Stanley. Stanley Martin Lieber."

  ...

"How's it going?"

After a brief conversation with Mr Leiber, Misty asked her partner Rafe.

"I asked people passing by, nothing's wrong. He just stops people and asks them about a place called Villard." Shaking his head, Rafe replied.

"Do you know where Villard is?" Raising an eyebrow, Misty asked.

"Never heard of it. Maybe it's a small place." Rafe thought for a moment and spoke with uncertainty.

"So, there's no problem."

"There shouldn't be any."

"Do we still have to …" Rafe asked in a low voice as he looked at the distant figure.

"Go and ask." Looking back, glancing at Mr Lieber, who was still watching them from a distance, Misty shrugged her shoulders and replied, "Procedure."

"Yeah, procedure."

Since his partner had said so, Rafe could only follow along with a sigh.

Stepping forward and walking up to the clone, Misty smiled kindly at him and said, "Excuse me, Sir. NYPD. Could you please answer a few questions for us? "

"Is something wrong?"

Looking at the two officers who suddenly appeared in front of him, Ah Xing asked back.

"I'm not doing anything illegal."

"We know, Sir. It's just that someone called the police, so we need to make routine inquiries. Can you show us your ID?"

Ah Xing: "..."

Ah Xing: "So sory, ai no speak eng grish."

'Don't lie, you just spoke English fluently!'

The clone's abnormal behaviour caused Misty and Rafe, who were facing him, to glance at each other.

Misty subconsciously waved her hand back a little and said, "Sir, please take out any valid ID, even a passport is fine."

'You're asking me for something I don't have! I'm just a clone, why would I have a passport?!'

Seeing that the situation was going bad, the Ah Xing clone made a gesture of cooperation and slipped his hands into his pocket, "I understand."

'Whew...'

When Ah Xing made a cooperative gesture, both Misty and Rafe subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief and stopped reaching behind their backs for a moment.

However, in a moment of relief for the two, Ah Xing suddenly changed the movements he was making. The muscles of his legs tightened. He used the power of the Mighty Steel Leg to step on the ground lightly, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared from sight.
