297 Chapter 295. Cosmic Storm (Part1)

Johnny pursed his lips and gave up on talking to Reed any further.

It's no wonder his sister broke up with someone who only had work on his mind all the time.

Shaking his head, he quickly shifted the topic to the huge monster in Chinatown that appeared recently.

"I think that it's a bio-weapon developed by the government in secret, but it accidentally got out of control, so they had to dispatch the Avengers to help. A friend of mine took a video of the monster when it appeared out of nowhere in Chinatown. Can you imagine such a huge monster appearing out of nowhere? There must be a conspiracy behind this."

"If you have the mind to pay attention to this gossip news, you might as well concentrate on the next space mission."

Ben frowned and patiently reminded Johnny.

"Our mission isn't going to be easy this time."

"I know," Johnny shrugged when he met Ben's gaze, raising his eyebrows in his usual carefree manner. "To prepare for this mission, I haven't gone on a date in over a week."

"Ugh," Johnny's nonchalant attitude instantly ignited the anger that Ben had been suppressing for a long time.

Seeing that a conflict was about to erupt, Sue quickly spoke up to ease the tension.

"Johnny, why don't you go get ready first?"

"Okay," Johnny shrugged and glanced at Ben before shaking his head and leaving.

Watching his back as he walked away, Sue turned to Ben and apologized. "Sorry, Ben. You know Johnny has always been like this. He's not a bad person, just a bit of a free spirit."

"I know."

Ben replied. Thanks to Sue's reassurance, his originally explosive emotions gradually calmed down. He took a deep breath, suppressed the frustration in his heart, then smiled wryly and said, "I was too impulsive. As Reed's friend, I don't want to affect his research because of my anger. Anyway, it's just one mission."

Ben made a silent vow to endure this mission for his friend Reed and never come back for another one, regardless of who asked him to join.

.....

In the vast and boundless universe, a spacecraft broke through the atmosphere and docked with a space station in orbit.

This space station was Victor's private space station, dedicated to studying changes in celestial bodies in the universe, and one of the reasons why Reed sought him out.

With government budget cuts, if Reed wanted to observe space storms up close, he could only rely on the other party's space station.

"Nine hours left until the space storm."

Inside the space station, Reed was somewhat excited. He could finally come into contact with the space storm he had dreamed of.

"What's so good about this kind of thing?"

Turning his head to look at the vast universe outside the space station, Johnny said so absentmindedly.

Compared to this space mission, he preferred his hot pursuits on Earth.

"The storm contains a lot of data. By studying the space storm, we can unravel the secrets of behind human genes. All the phenomena in life forms, such as growth, decline, illness, old age, and death, are related to genes. As long as we can decipher the information in it, humanity will enter a new era, one without disease. A world belonging to a new human race."

"Brilliant idea."

Faced with Reed's impassioned speech, Johnny shrugged and poured cold water on it, saying, "Assuming your theory is correct."

In reality, Johnny didn't believe that Reed's experiment would succeed.

"My theory is definitely correct."

Reed replied firmly.

.....

While the space storm was approaching.

In another part of the spaceship, unnoticed in a box, a wisp of sand flowed out, gradually forming a sandy-colored human form.

"So, this is outer space?"

Ryan, or rather, the sand clone's expression, was a little dazed as he opened his yellow eyes formed by sand, looking around.

As a businessman, Victor Von Doom could never quietly conduct space experiments.

In fact, since he decided to invest in Reed, all the major newspapers in New York had already hyped up this space mission.

As long as Reed could make some kind of breakthrough in the cosmic storm, Victor would gain a lot of fame and, most importantly, money. Reed, who was only focused on experiments, hadn't realized the amount of wealth his research could bring.

Ryan controlled the sand clone to walk around the ship.

As a human being, being able to walk in outer space is undoubtedly an exciting thing.

However, all of this is less important than the upcoming plan.

.....

"Please tell me your guy is not trying to rekindle things with my sister again."

Johnny spoke as he helped Ben wear the space suit at the chamber near the hatch.

"Of course not, it's strictly business."

Ben replied. Although Ben did vaguely notice Reed's lingering feelings for Susan, from the perspective of a good friend, he naturally wouldn't admit it, and he responded with a defiant face.

"Yes well, his eyes say differently, don't they?"

Johnny spoke as he prepared for the space walk-in at the airlock of the space station.

Thinking of Reed's back and forth in front of Susan before, even Ben didn't hide it anymore, he could only helplessly explain, "Two hearts got busted last time, maybe she's not over it either."

"Wow, Dr. Phil, that's deep. Let's think about that." Johnny handed Ben the prepared plant samples and nodded. "You got Victor, more money than God, stud of the year. And you got Reed, the world's dumbest smart man, worth less than a postage stamp. That's a real toss-up."

"Don't trouble your tiny little mind..."

"Then tell me, buddy. If you were my sister, which one would you choose?"

"..."

After a moment of silence, Ben awkwardly changed the subject, "We're not here in outer space to discuss this. Open the airlock, I have a mission to complete."

"Your call, buddy."

Shrugging, Johnny immediately turned his attention back to his work, although he was a bit out of place, he still had some work ethic.

He pressed the button, and the door in front of Ben quickly dropped down, isolating him outside.
