208 Chapter 206. Mishap (Part2)

The change to the situation that Agent Coulson mentioned wasn't because of something Ryan did, but what the Phantom Thief did when he found Mjolnir.

Looking down at Mjolnir, the Phantom Thief looked back towards Jane and the others, who gathered around Thor. She spoke up and shouted, "If you guys don't want him to die, bring him to the hammer. Quick! " Ryan's idea was very simple. Since Mjolnir couldn't fly to Thor's side, then Thor should come to the hammer.

As to whether this would work, Ryan was honestly not sure.

"That's... That's Mjolnir!"

Hearing the Phantom Thief's shout, Sif collected her sad thoughts and turned to look. Her expression suddenly changed.

"If it's Mjolnir, it might be able to bring Thor back!"

Seeing Mjolnir amidst the ruins of the bar, Sif's words raised the hopes of the group.

"Really!?"

Hearing the words from Sif, Jane instantly raised her head and spoke with a look of excitement.

However, the excited crowd forgot that although the Destroyer had gone far, it hadn't really left.

Aware of the movement behind it, the Destroyer turned its body. In Asgard, Loki saw the Phantom Thief standing in the middle of the ruins of the bar.

"Found you! You little worm!"

Seeing Phantom Thief Kid, Loki immediately recognised him. He was the man that had stolen Mjolnir from the middle of the research base, right from under his nose. The expression on his face suddenly distorted. In the middle of town, feeling the emotions of the controller, the Destroyer then opened its head and fired a hot destructive beam towards the Phantom Thief.

"Look out!"

Seeing the Destroyer attacking again, Sif's expression suddenly changed, and she shouted towards the Phantom Thief.

However, it was clear that his warning was a little too late.

In the next instant, the beam of light, with its blazing flames, engulfed the Phantom Thief in the middle of the bar.

Seeing this scene in front of them, the crowd of people looked shocked.

Although the Phantom Thief's previous actions left a bad impression on them, they couldn't help but feel some sympathy when they saw him being hit by the destruction beam. After all, a living, breathing human life has just faded away before their eyes.

"No, no. He's not dead yet!"

However, before the sadness could form within Jane and the others, in the next instant, Volstagg saw something strange amidst the burning bar.

When they heard Volstagg's shout, Jane and the others immediately saw Phantom Thief Kid holding up his right hand amidst the flames. He isolated himself from all the flames and the impact, looking completely unscathed.

The system's data panel revealed a large number of points, yet Ryan's heart didn't feel much joy. After all, he had to use the [Imagine Breaker] ability again in order to protect the identity of the Phantom Thief and block the Destroyer's beam.

'It's that power again!'

In Asgard, Loki couldn't help but frown when he saw the scene.

Previously, in the middle of the base, the other party had also blocked his magic with just one hand.

'You won't be able to block it forever!'

With that thought flashing through his mind, Loki controlled the Destroyer and unleashed another beam of destruction. A mass of fiery light surged from within its head, aiming towards the Phantom Thief before it.

However, when the terrifyingly hot beam struck Phantom Thief Kid's body, as if the breeze was blowing through his hair, it didn't even do any damage except for ruffling the cloak behind him.

The [Imagine Breaker] ability was obviously quite powerful against a magically made attack like the Destroyer's powers. Because, no matter how terrifying the Destroyer's beam was, as long as it was a magical force, it was destined to be erased by [Imagine Breaker] without the slightest reasoning.

Looking up, he looked at the Destroyer in front of him and then turned his head to look at the "dead" Thor.

According to the original development, this should be the time for Thor to demonstrate his strength. Who would have thought that a man's plan wouldn't be as good as a god's design? The development of the situation before him had significantly deviated from his initial prediction.

'Mjolnir isn't working. Or... perhaps [Imagine Breaker] it so powerful it caused Odin's magic to fail?'

'Looks like I need to do it myself.'

In the antique shop, Ryan looked at the scene and muttered to himself.

After all, the [Imagine Breaker] ability had already been used, so naturally, it shouldn't be wasted.

Ryan kept holding up his clone's arm while pondering, while on the other side, the Destroyer, who was spewing a non-stop beam of destruction, had clearly reached its limit. The armour started to glow red, looking like it was overloading.

Seeing that, Loki had to stop the destruction beam. If the Destroyer kept firing while in that state, he might damage it before he could kill the Phantom Thief.

What's more, at this moment, Loki could see that, just like the magical attack at the beginning, the Destroyer's beam couldn't hurt the guy either.

Feeling the searing heat around him disappear, Phantom Thief withdrew his right hand and moved. Bending down, he easily picked up Mjolnir from the rubble under Sif's astonished gaze.

"Here you go."

Smoothly tossing Mjolnir to the group's side, Phantom thief Kid looked at the Destroyer that wasn't too far away. He then turned his head to Bucciarati and asked, "Any interest in teaming up to take care of this big guy? "

The [Imagine Breaker] could erase all kinds of supernatural and magic powers. Of course, the Destroyer in front of him was quite powerful in terms of strength and defence, in addition to the power of the destruction beam. He couldn't solely rely on the [Imagine Breaker] to deal with it.

Of course, if Phantom Thief Kid used his own strength as a Multi-Form clone with [Imagine Breaker], he would be able to finish off the Destroyer.

However, it was obvious that such an approach wouldn't match the Phantom Thief's image.

Instead, by working with Bucciarati, he created a perception that, although he had the means to resist the Destroyer's attacks, he wasn't invincible.

"Just this once."

In response to Phantom Thief's invitation, Bucciarati glanced down at the 'dead' Thor and replied in a whisper.

"Of course."

Upon hearing Bucciarati's answer, Phantom Thief lowered his top hat and chuckled.
