72 Machine Man 70 Reaction to Power Armors

As Peter and Gwen drove towards Arasaka Tower in their custom Rayfield Blue and Red Caliburn, Gwen who's behind the wheel can't help but comment at the building infront of them. "I still can't get over why he wanted a monolith looking building, it looks weird…", while Peter pauses his Switch hybrid console made by Araksa to observed the imposing structure ahead.

"Man! Every time I see that building, it screams super villain," Peter remarked, a hint of amusement in his voice. "It's like it's saying, 'I am the dork knight.'"

Gwen chuckled at Peter's comment, nodding in agreement. "He's really leaning into this dark knight persona, isn't he?"

"Yeah, I'm a huge Batman fan too, but to actually buy rights and create a Batman Shampoo product with Conditioner Gordon, is too far even for me," Peter commented.

Gwen laughed at that bit and said. "But you got to admit, Conditioner Gordon is funny, anyway I wonder why he decided to create a new persona called Zero One."`

"Yeah, it's kind of strange," Peter admitted, furrowing his brow in thought. "But maybe he's doing it so he can operate more openly. Specter's methods might be effective, but they do tend to attract a lot of legal trouble."

Gwen nodded, understanding Peter's reasoning. "You're probably right," she said. "My dad is getting fed up with Specter's antics, and he's not too thrilled about my Nightbird persona and your Spider-Man either." It got Gwen thinking that if her father only knew that it was the three of them who are giving him troubles, he might end up having a heart attack.

Peter sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, it's tough, being chase by Militech Robots like it's a pretend play, it's getting outrageous." he agreed. "But we can't just sit back and do nothing. We've saved so many lives together, Gwen. That has to count for something."

Gwen smiled at Peter, grateful for his optimism. "You're right," she said, her voice filled with determination. "Let's keep doing what we do best."

As they approached the tower, Gwen couldn't help but admire the Militech Robots guarding the premises. "It's really amazing how good Alex is with technology," she remarked, her eyes scanning the lifelike movements of the robots.

One of the Militech Robots noticed their approaching vehicle and its eyes glowed yellow as it performed a quick scan. After confirming their identity as Alex's friends, it allowed them to pass through without hesitation.

A moment later, Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker stepped off the vehicle, handing the key to the valet standing in front of Arasaka's towering building. The young Asian man, dressed in a vibrant red vest, thanked them with a respectful nod before swiftly parking their car.

Peter paused, a flicker of something pricking his Spider-Sense. Sensing his unease, Gwen inquired, "What's the matter, Tiger? Is everything okay?"

Peter shook his head, his gaze lingering on the valet. "Yeah, everything's good. Just a feeling, nothing to worry about," he reassured her, though the knot of suspicion remained, he felt that there was something off about the Asian man who he handed the keys too, he felt trained like a restrained tiger... Shrugging the feeling off since he did not feel any malice from the person, they continue on their way.

As they entered the building, using the benefits of their friendship with Alex, it granted them easy passage past security, they headed straight for Alex's private elevator, which whisked them directly to his office floor.

Passing by familiar faces, they exchanged greetings with Felicia Hardy, the COO of Arasaka Industries and their old schoolmate.

"Hi, Felicia," Peter greeted with a smile.

"Hello, Peter, Gwen," Felicia replied warmly, her eyes flickering with curiosity as they made their way to Alex's personal office.

Once inside, Alex greeted them with a welcoming smile. "Peter, Gwen, it's good to see you both. Please, have a seat."

Taking their places, Peter couldn't shake the feeling of tension in the air. "Alex, there's something I need to talk to you about," he began, his voice serious.

Alex's brow furrowed in concern as he turned his attention to Peter, who seemed visibly troubled. With a simple command, he activated the privacy mode within his office, causing the transparent glass walls to tint, shielding their conversation from prying eyes.

"What is it, Pete? You know you can always speak freely with me," Alex reassured, his voice calm yet attentive as he leaned forward, waiting for Peter to share his concerns.

An AI voice echoed through the room, confirming the activation of privacy mode, ensuring that their conversation remained confidential within the confines of Alex's office.

Peter having a suspicion about one of Alex's particular employee he voice his concern. "It's about one of your employee's, I couldn't help but notice… something seems off," he added, choosing his words carefully.

Alex's expression hardened, a shadow passing over his features. "I appreciate your concern, but I assure you, all employees have been screened by Skynet so you can rest assured all employees had their background details check."

Peter leaned forward, his instincts screaming at him. "It's not just about that, It's about that valet outside. He seemed… different, strong, almost unnaturally so."

Alex's gaze flickered with understanding. "Ah, I see. That would be Shaun, one of our newest recruits. He comes from a martial artist family, his a good kid and just wants to work as a vallet."

Gwen's eyes widened in realization. "Martial arts? That explains it."

Peter nodded, though the unease still lingered. "Maybe. But I can't shake the feeling that there's more to it than that."

Alex's expression softened, his gaze meeting Peter's with understanding. "I'll look into it, Peter. Thank you for bringing it to my attention."

Peter and Gwen then voiced their main concern to Alex as they settled into his office, their expressions a mix of worry and disbelief.

"What were you thinking, Alex?" Gwen's voice was laced with concern. "Using your own face, creating a new superhero persona... You could have exposed yourself as Specter, or worse, become a target."

Alex listened to his friends' barrage of questions, feeling the warmth of their concern despite the gravity of the situation. Though he had always felt somewhat out of place in the world of superheroes, he knew he was fortunate to have friends like Peter and Gwen who cared for him.

"It's fine, Gwen," Alex replied, his tone calm but resolute. "It's actually a more elaborate disguise than you think."

Peter couldn't help but interject, curiosity piqued. "Explain, Alex. Why did you do it?"

Taking a deep breath, Alex began to explain. "Firstly, it's a significant cover for my Specter persona. The flamboyant transformation and the whole charade of an overzealous superhero from a kids' show is the complete opposite of Specter. They're like opposite sides of the same coin, and it provides me with a significant cover."

Gwen hearing this agreed, with Specters dark knight persona and brooding getup and personality its really the total opposite of the Zero One he uses in public.

He then continued and revealed another problem, to his friends, "You remember the spy agency under the UN, right? S.H.I.E.L.D. They're tasked with maintaining both national and global security."

Peter and Gwen nodded in recognition, memories of their encounters with S.H.I.E.L.D. flooding back. They had even been recruited to work with them, grateful that they were able to keep Alex's secret about being Specter by pretending not to know who Specter is.

"Well," Alex continued, "I'm actually in a way working with them. It's more of a transaction than outright employment."

Gwen's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You're working with S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Alex nodded, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Yes and no, Gwen. I'm just selling them some of my toys, it's a form of reassurance so we can do what we want without the hassle. Plus Specter may have started as my alter ego, but I can't use my powers in public if I didn't create a new persona. In a way it's more an elaborate disguise, even if it means putting myself at risk."

Peter couldn't hide his admiration for his friend's bravery. "That's... understandable, Alex. But also incredibly risky."

Alex nodded solemnly, acknowledging the dangers involved. "I know, Peter. But sometimes, the greater good requires sacrifice. And with friends like you two by my side, I know I'm not alone in this."

Gwen couldn't shake off her confusion, her brow furrowing as she leaned forward, her gaze fixed on Alex. "But why all this, Alex? Going to such lengths, even using advanced technology to create an elaborate superhero persona?"

Alex met her gaze with a steady look, understanding the weight of her question. "You see, Gwen, with my advancements in technology, I'll always be in the spotlight. It's not like before, where I could live a double life without much scrutiny."

He continued, his voice tinged with urgency, "I did this not just to openly use my powers, but so I can openly use my technology without constantly worrying about someone breathing down my neck."

Gwen nodded slowly, beginning to grasp the complexity of Alex's motives. "But won't they covet the armor you used? She asked.

Before Gwen can continue, Peter cut in. "The one you transformed into, is pretty cool, by the way. Can I get one?" Peter's enthusiasm bubbled up, earning a playful elbow from Gwen as a reminder of their purpose.

Gwen redirected the conversation back to their concerns, her tone serious. "You still need to be careful, Alex. You can never be too sure how greedy those guys are, especially politicians and the military. They might even force you to give up your technology."

Alex's smile softened, touched by their genuine concern. "I understand, Gwen. I'll be careful. But I'm only supplying them with my low-end tech, so you don't need to worry too much. The military knows I'll eventually sell them something I'm using, but what they don't know is that it'll be just low-end junk, not the core technology."

Peter and Gwen exchanged glances, reassured by Alex's words but still wary of the dangers that lay ahead. As they delved deeper into their discussion, they knew that navigating the murky waters of politics and power would require more than just technology and bravado.

"By the way, perfect timing, I have something for you guys," Alex announced, a twinkle of excitement in his eyes as he produced two briefcases emblazoned with the Arasaka Industries logo. "Take it."

Gwen's curiosity piqued as she picked up one of the briefcases. "What is it?" she asked, her fingers tracing the letters on the case, ARASAKA Industries with its three-part hollyhock "mon" Emblem emblazoned in the middle.

Peter's expression lit up with realization, his grin widening almost comically. "Is this it? Is this really it?" he exclaimed, barely able to contain his excitement.

"Just open it," Alex replied with a smile, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

As Gwen and Peter eagerly opened their respective briefcases, they were met with the sight of a sleek smartphone accompanied by a few other devices.

"A smartphone?" Gwen questioned, glancing up at Alex in confusion. "And what's the other thing for?"

Peter's excitement bubbled over as he quickly connected the dots. "No way, Alex! Is this...?" He had an inkling feeling that this might be the like Japanese show where they transform in to cool power armors using flip phones, the one he used to watch a few years back.

Peter Parker eagerly reached for the smartphone designated for him. His fingers trembled with anticipation, his curiosity piqued by the mysterious device.

"How do I activate it?" Peter asked eagerly, his voice tinged with excitement as he grasped the phone in his hand.

As Peter grabbed the phone, a sudden voice startled him. "New fingerprints detected," the AI announced, causing Peter to jerk back in surprise. He stared at the 3D projection of a small spider that materialized before him, his confusion evident.

"What the...?" Peter began, his words trailing off as the Spider AI on the phone interrupted him.

"Increasing volume by 33 percent," the AI declared, its voice growing louder. "New fingerprints detected!"

Peter's bewilderment grew as the volume increased. "Wait, what? I thought this was just a smartphone," he exclaimed, his brow furrowing in confusion.

The AI responded with technical specifications, introducing itself as the KRS(Kamen Rider System) Smart Phone with a built-in AI Alpha model named "Supaidaman Emissary of Hell." Peter's skepticism was palpable as he glanced between the 3D projection of the spider and Alex, seeking answers.

"Supaida what now?" Peter questioned, his disbelief evident in his tone as he shook his head in incredulity.

"Increasing volume by sixty-nine percent. Name..." the AI persisted, its voice booming even louder.

Peter winced at the sudden increase in volume. "I'm not deaf!" he retorted, his frustration mounting as Alex and Gwen chuckled at his predicament.

"Understood, hearing within norm. Possible issue-low IQ. Reducing speech rate by 33 percent," the AI responded in a slow, deliberate voice. "My. Name. Is. Supai-da-man."

Peter attempted to interject, but the AI continued its pronunciation without pause. Frustration evident in his expression, Peter turned to Alex for assistance.

"Alex, a little help here. How do you activate this thing?" Peter asked, seeking guidance amid the laughter of his friends.

Alex then replied, "There's a manual in there, but the code is simple: 555, then call. You can change it to be more secure later," Alex explained. "This device uses DNA and voice verification, so only you can access it. To others, it will appear like just a regular smartphone."

Peter eagerly punched in the code and pressed call, his heart pounding with anticipation. The AI Supaidaman echoed from the device, saying, "STANDING BY."

Raising the smartphone triumphantly, Peter exclaimed, "Henshin!" as he put it on his waist. In a flash of red and blue light, he transformed into Iron Spider, the classic armor reminiscent of the one from the PS4 game, complete with gold highlights with added blue webbings to make it look original and a built-in AI.

With the transformation complete the AI Supaidaman announce "COMPLETE".

Gwen cringe at Peter as he was really into this super hero transformation thing, but still watched in awe as the technology involve is not something she could laugh at. Peter marveled at his transformed self, "This is so awesome!" Peter couldn't contain his excitement as he flexes infront of the glass reflection doing hero poses.

Gwen shook her head at her boyfriend's childish antics, but couldn't hide her own excitement. "Thanks, Alex. I really appreciate it," she said sincerely.

Peter quickly echoed her gratitude. "Oh, sorry, Alex. Thank you for this wonderful gift," he added, a wide grin plastered on his face. "Can't believe you made a Kamen Rider transformation phone like Faiz." He added.

Alex smiled warmly at his friends, the bond of friendship shining brightly between them as they made small talk, eager to test out their new gifts in the battles that lay ahead.

Inside the Helicarrier, still in the midst of its construction, Fury sat in the commander's chair, his brow furrowed with frustration. Coulson and Maria Hill stood nearby, awaiting his orders as well as Fits and Simmons who are there to give their scientific inputs on the matter.

"We've got two headaches on our hands," Fury growled, his voice echoing in the command center. "Stark and Arasaka, with that ridiculous stunt, of theirs." Fury commented about how two of the world's most brilliant engineer keeps giving him more headache by the day.

Coulson nodded grimly, his expression mirroring Fury's annoyance. "Stark's becoming more of a problem by the day. He's not following the script, and revealed to the public what happened, his even taking the name Iron Man coined by journalist, like he's some kind of superhero, then there's Arasaka with his armored that got shot out from space." he reported, a hint of exasperation creeping into his tone.

Fury's jaw clenched at the mention of Stark's defiance. "It's okay Coulson. I already had a chat with Stark, even though he did not join the Avengers Initiative it will only be a matter of time. " he muttered, his frustration palpable.

Coulson sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. "I understand, sir, but Stark's is uncontrollable, it's like dealing with an overgrown spoiled child. Even if he's capable of creating powerful weapons like the armor, can't we just make our own?" he explained, his frustration evident.

Fitz, hearing this, interjected. "As much as we would like to recreate the armor, Mr. Coulson, without Stark's power source, we'll be unable to do so."

Simmons nodded in agreement. "That's true. Stark's Arc Reactor is a technological marvel. It's a very powerful Fusion Reactor, the size of a palm. Sadly, we're unable to replicate such technology."

Maria Hill interjected, her voice tinged with concern. "Not to mention, Stark's personality doesn't exactly fit the Avengers Initiative. I don't think with his personality that he will work well with others," she pointed out, her brow furrowing with worry.

Coulson nodded in agreement. "And let's not forget how close we came to disaster in our last mission. If it weren't for the Militech Robots that Arasaka sold us, we might not have made it out alive," he added, a note of gratitude in his voice.

Fury's gaze hardened, his mind racing with the implications of their near-miss. "But those robots were no match for Obidiah's Iron Monger power armor," he mused, his voice low with concern. "We might need to contact Alex to get us better robots, but the thought of dealing with him again gives me a head ache."

Fury's frustration simmered as he addressed his team. "Speaking of Arasaka, that man just pulled a stunt on us with his over-the-top power ranger armor."

Simmons, unable to resist correcting the statement, interjected, "It's Kamen Rider, sir, not Power Rangers. He said Henshin and not its Morphin Time… Get your facts straight" slamming her hand in the table creating a loud bang.

Maria Hill, feeling a pang of exasperation at Simmons' timely outburst, couldn't help but facepalm. "Not now, Simmons," she muttered, before turning to Fury. "But what do you think about his armor? Which do you believe is more powerful?"

Simmons didn't hesitate in her response. "It's Arasaka's Zero One armor, of course!"

But Fitz disagreed, his tone firm as he stated, "I think it's Tony Stark's Iron Man armor."

Coulson, sensing the brewing debate, quickly intervened. "Explain your points," he instructed, his voice commanding attention.

Simmons launched into her explanation, eager to defend the prowess of Alex Arasaka's Zero One armor. "Alex Arasaka's armor, although flamboyant in its transformation, only takes a few seconds to be worn. And I believe it increases his strength tenfold. He was able to punch through a titanium-reinforced armor and unleash an energy kick that demolished the Iron Monger armor into scraps."

Fitz, feeling a pang of doubt, stuck to his guns. "I still think Tony Stark's armor is superior. Though it requires a customized machine to be worn, it grants flight capability and can unleash powerful repulsor blasts, utilizing the same technology as Stark's missiles."

Simmons countered, "But Zero One can simply ride his flying bike."

Fitz retorted, "But he lacks any long-range weapons."

Simmons slammed her hand on the table. "He can just pick up a gun then!"

Fitz look at her like some weird animal and said, "Weren't you oppose to Arasaka last time? What happen to you? Simmons shifted uncomfortably under Fitz's scrutinizing gaze, feeling the heat rise to her cheeks as she recalled her previous stance against Arasaka. "Well, things change, Fitz," she replied, her voice a touch defensive. "I've come to see that Arasaka's technology could benefit our research, despite my previous reservations."

Fury, seeing the debate spiraling, coughed to regain control. "Alright, let's get back to the matter at hand. Can you explain the theory behind the armors' technology? Let's start with Stark first."

Fitz launched into his explanation. "The Iron Man armor is powered by a small fusion reactor, generating three gigajoules of power per second, this is powerful enough to power an entire city for a long time. Its hydraulics and machine engineering exponentially increase the wearer's strength as well. The armor allows flight and fires energy beams based on repulsor technology. With its titanium shell, it should withstand powerful weapons."

Simmons nodded in agreement for the first time.

Fury then turned to Simmons. "What do you think about Arasaka's armor, then?"

Simmons delved into her analysis of Alex's armor. "For the power source, I'm not entirely sure. It could be an advanced form of a hydrogen fuel cell similar to what he uses in his Militech robots, which we can't reverse-engineer. But it's more likely to be something else, more powerful, as the energy generated by his Rider Kick surpassed the readings of the Iron Monger's power source at that time."

The room fell into a heavy silence as Simmons's words lingered in the air, the implications of Tony Stark's Arc Reactor and the mysterious power source of Alex Arasaka's armor weighing heavily on their minds.

But Simmons wasn't finished yet. She continued her explanation, her voice grave as she delved into the complexities of Alex's transformation into Zero One. "The whole process of Alex's transformation might seem like something out of a Saturday morning kids' show, but the technology behind it is nothing to laugh at."

She paused for emphasis before continuing. "Firstly, the way the armor was shot off the satellite to Alex's location in a mere 1.3 seconds. This involves a plethora of unknown technologies. You could even consider it science fiction, as it likely utilizes light speed and warp technology."

Coulson, Maria and Fury exchanged incredulous glances, the sheer magnitude of such technology beyond their comprehension.

Simmons pressed on, her tone serious. "And then there's the giant mechanical grasshopper. It's possible that it's made out of nanotechnology, and the entire transformation process may even involve space folding, a concept that has only existed in theory until now."

Fury, Coulson, and Maria exchanged grave looks as they absorbed Simmons' explanation, the implications of Alex Arasaka's technology reaching sci-fi levels of impossibility weighing heavily on their minds.

Fury spoke first, his voice tinged with concern. "If Arasaka's technology has indeed reached such heights, then we're dealing with a whole new level of threat. Even if we're in a cooperative transaction with him now, we need to be prepared for anything."

Coulson nodded in agreement, his expression serious. "Agreed, sir. The fact that his armor was literally shot from his personal Zea satellite raises a multitude of questions about the extent of his capabilities."

Maria added her thoughts to the discussion, her voice reflecting the gravity of the situation. "And let's not forget about the implications of his ability to manipulate space and warp technology. If he's mastered that level of technology, then his possibly the most technologically capable man in Earth right now."

Fury leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair as he contemplated their next steps. "We need to gather as much intel on Arasaka's capabilities as possible. If his technology truly surpasses our understanding, then we'll need to adapt our strategies accordingly."

Coulson nodded in agreement. "I'll put a team on it right away, sir. We'll make sure his every move is watch."

Maria glanced at the screen displaying satellite imagery of Alex's Zero One armor in transformation sequence along with a few video records of their fight with Iron Monger, a knot of worry forming in her stomach. "I'm not even sure if this is a blessing or a devil in disguise, Let's just hope things won't spirals out of control."

As they continued to discuss their plan of action, the reality that a multitude of people have incredible technology in which they have no way of controlling loomed over them. People with technology that defied the laws of physics loomed large in their minds. It was clear that the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, it's just that Fury hopes, that Alex Arasaka is really someone on earth's side and is preparing for the unseen Asgardians and other battles with Aliens that might come.
