24 Obtaining What He Wanted

Jerry turned to Wanda, looking straight into her black eyes.

"It's about time, you guys know about my mission and the reason why I recruited you..."

"I need a new body." Jerry declared.

Pietro on the side, wiped his mouth and then chugged a glass full of water before taking a deep sigh and opening his mouth, "Yeah, you really need one."

Jerry rolled his eyes and then smiled, "I'm relieved a bit though, it looks like you both are not that creeped out."

"We are. A lot!" Pietro's reply was immediate.

"A bit," Wanda also nodded, "You said, due to some curse, right? Then this isn't your real body then?"

Jerry nodded with a sigh and then sat on the couch in front of them, "Yeah, well... I was originally an inhabitant of Earth too, a human. Just like both of you. And then one day, I woke up like this, billions of lightyears away from home..."

He glanced at his big, wrinkly greyish hands.

Sighing, he continued, "Well, long story short, after lots of struggle and stuff, I managed to get back to Earth. I did some pretty adventurous stuff along the way, like stealing that mothership and obtaining that whole army." 

"I see." The black-haired girl nodded. 

"By the way, this army is the same one that had attacked in New York a few months back." Jerry shook his hands in panic as he saw the twins' surprised faces, "Ah, I had no hand in that attack, in fact, I stole this army and mothership from the fucker that had instigated that attack."

"Oh~" Pietro sighed in relief. For a moment he thought that Jerry was the one behind that attack.

"So, are you both still willing to work with me?" Jerry asked with expectations.

Pietro leaned back and looked at Wanda, he didn't have any problems as long as she was okay with it.

Wanda nodded in agreement, "As long as you don't drop your end of the deal." 

"Nice," Jerry smiled. 

But his smile... looked awfully creepy on his wrinkled face, causing Pietro to look away and shudder.

After that, they talked a bit more about Jerry's plan for obtaining his new body. They also talked a bit about his past, of course, Jerry didn't reveal that he was from some other reality and not theirs. 

Wanda and Pietro shared a bit about their past as well, but the mood went gloomy. At one point of time, her powers started leaking, causing a swirl of crimson energy around her fingers. After she calmed down a bit she finally stated what she wanted from him in return for helping him.

She asked for three things - Help in stabilization of their country. Training of their powers. And help in revenge against Tony Stark.

Of course, Jerry agreed, with some minor conditions.

Later that day, when the repairs and replenishments were done. Jerry headed back to Earth to launch an attack on Stryker's secret base in Alkali Lake. 

He didn't bring the twins with him as untrained and inexperienced, they wouldn't be able to do much and might even fall in some danger, causing the failure of raid.

The attack on the base went seamlessly, without any trouble at all, just like it went in Strucker's base. More so, this time it was even easier as he already had the Scepter in his hands.

Fortunately for Stryker, he wasn't present in the base during the attack.

And fortunately for Jerry, he found what he wanted the most from this base. The mutants' DNAs.

Among the mutant DNA that he got, the most notable were Wolverine's, Cyclops's, Emma Frost's, Iceman's, Gambit's, and a few more.

Jerry also stole all the data in the systems and took all the physical archives and research data on the base. He also found a good quantity of adamantium in the base. 

"Oho, a mutant supression cage, huh. Nice!"

He had found mutant suppression cages, handcuffs, and collars. They might come in handy in the future, seeing that he had made a bad first impression with X-Men.

There were a few random mutants imprisoned in the base that Jerry freed before ordering his soldiers for a clean-up. It wasn't needed to mention that he had ordered his soldiers to kill every Stryker's soldiers and staff before heading back.

Freeing those mutant people which comprised of mostly teenagers and women, Jerry took a risk of exposing his deeds but he took that responsibility on his own shoulders. If it causes trouble for him then so be it, he'd deal with it.

Oh, Jerry also made a short detour to South Korea, to recruit a certain individual before he headed back to Mars.

In the medical room, a bald middle-aged man was lying on the med bay, surrounded by a plethora of medical equipment.

"How is Professor's condition, Jean?" Scott Summers asked with a concern-laden voice.

Jean Gray, a red-haired girl, currently donning a long white lab coat sighed and replied, "His mental condition is alright now, but it may take some time before he wakes up." 

"Whoever attacked Professor last night needs to pay!" Scott gritted his teeth, "We shouldn't have let them escape last night!"

Jean didn't respond to his vengeful comment, she just continued taking care of the vegetable.

Just then Ororo and Rogue walked in, to ask about Charles's condition. Jean gave the girls the same answer she gave to Scott.

Scott hurriedly walked to them, "Did Hank find them?", his voice impatient.

Ororo had been helping Hank to track down the assaulters since last night. She had also alerted Mystique, who's currently working for S.H.E.I.L.D, about the attack last night and asked her to help them find the attackers.

Ororo shook her head in denial, to Scott's query, "The amount of information we have on them is too low. And Hank said the level of technology of that ship was also quite high. 

Sighing she added, "It seems almost impossible to track them so, it might take some time before we can find who they were and what they wanted." 

Rogue nodded, "Well, at least thanks to Professor and Scott, we were able to gain 'some' information." 

"Yes, we will find that Witch and her minions.... No matter where on Earth they hide." Scott declared with a clenched fist, the dude was really angry.

And indeed, it was the combined effort of Charles and Scott that they were able to lock onto that invisible ship and aim a blast at it. Just before Professor passed out, he mentally transferred the little information he could get about the trespassers to Jean and Scott. 

The latter didn't waste any time before hurrying out and aiming a heat ray blast at the supposed location. Fortunately, his aim connected leading to the reveal of the mysterious ship of the attacker.

Ororo folded her arms under her chest as a thought came to her mind, "But I still don't understand why after taking just a single hit they began begging to cease the fire." 

"Well, of course, they would beg to stop after taking my attack..."

Ignoring Scott, Rogue pinching her chin with a thoughtful look. "They were like it was us who attacked them first, not the other way around..."

"Let's talk outside, we shouldn't make noise here," Jean interrupted the discussion as they were inside a patient ward.

'Still, what Ororo said seems kind of true.' Jean thought as she made her way outside the ward. 

'Is it possible that they didn't hurt Professor on purpose... they even said that they were not hostiles. And that voice from the ship genuinely seemed surprised...'

Well, the truth is only known to the attackers, and possibly Professor.
