40 39. A new name

The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains and cast a gentle glow on the room, two figures lay on the large bed under the covers of a fluffy blanket.

Jerry shifted and opened his eyes. Feeling the weight of Wanda's head on his arms, a warm smile spread across his face.

He snaked his arms around her waist, bringing her closer and tightly hugging her naked form.

Blinking sleepily, Wanda raised her eyelids to look at Jerry with a soft smile. "Good morning, Jerry," she murmured, threading her fingers through his hair.

His warm embrace made her heart beat faster, reminding her of the activities of last night.

Leaning in, she pressed a gentle kiss on his lips before settling back against him, feeling completely at peace in his arms.

After enjoying each other's presence for a while, Wanda suggested that they wash up. Nodding in agreement, Jerry slid out of the bed.

Jerry stretched his limbs while Wanda watched him with a soft smile, her eyes tracing the contours of his body with affection.

With a playful grin, Jerry turned to Wanda. He scooped her up in a princess carry and started heading to the bathroom. Wanda laughed, her heart filled with joy and satisfaction. This is the kind of mornings that she wanted everyday...

From the bathroom, the sounds of their laughter and splashes of water were heard. Jerry also didn't forget to steal some kisses in there.

Afterward, Wanda requested a maid outside the room to bring the breakfast to her chambers.

For some reason, Frigga also decided to join them in what Jerry assumed would be his private moment with Wanda.

Jerry and Wanda were called to a beautiful garden where Figga was already sitting with Asgardian breakfast on the table in front of her.

The meal passed with a pleasant atmosphere, Frigga engaged them in polite conversation, asking about their plans for the day and expressing genuine interest in the couple.

'How in the world did they get so close anyway?' Jerry couldn't help but wonder as he watched Wanda and Frigga converse like a mother-daughter duo.

"Jerry, you're reborn now. I think you should adopt a new name for yourself. A new life is given every opportunity to redefine its essence, embracing the limitless potential of the future. A new name would symbolize your new journey and even might change your fate for the better." Frigga suggested, her gaze filled with motherly concern.

As Wanda listened to Frigga's suggestion, a slow smile spread across her face. "A new name for my Jerry. That sounds exciting somehow..."

"A new name, huh..." Jerry smiled wryly.

Jerry J. Anderson...

His name was given to him by his late grandfather who passed away when he was too young to even remember, as told by his mother.

Still, Jerry liked his name even though he was made fun of sometimes, was given funny nicknames in college and schools...

Anyway, the prospect of adapting a new name gave him a different kind of feeling.

'But the thought of starting afresh with a fresh name sounds good as well. Now, I can truly say that I've been reborn in a new universe, I have a new life now...'

A new name wouldn't mean erasing his past. It would be like embracing the new life in a new universe with open arms... Just as Frigga said.

"What do you all suggest then?" He asked casually.

Inspiration struck Wanda suddenly, and she knew exactly what new name would suit Jerry best. Glancing at him lovingly, she responded, "Actually, I have something. You can be... Eirikyr."

"Eirikyr, huh. Sounds cool, I guess I'll go by Eirikyr then."

Frigga hummed, "Eirikyr, a name of Asgardian origin, meaning Eternal Ruler... It suits him. He's undying and he rules over an army as well. Then let me ask Odin to have a name-giving ceremony for Jerry today itself, I'm sure he's not overly busy."Listening to Frigga's words, Wanda couldn't help but smile proudly. Eirikyr indeed seemed fitting for Jerry. She would call him Erik, for short.

After breakfast, Wanda took Jerry for a tour of Asgard. Although they have already roamed through the city once. Wanda knew that the previous time, Jerry was more focused on planning the next phase of his plan, so this time she was gonna have him live more in the moment, besides, there were many spots she wanted him to see.

She led him to hidden alcoves, and vibrant gardens, and showed him breathtaking views, sharing anecdotes and stories that Frigga told her when she was with her.

As they reached the highest tower of the palace, Wanda paused, overlooking the entire realm.

The view was truly spectacular, and she turned to Jerry with a smile, "This is my favorite spot. You can see the whole of Asgard from here."

Jerry, captivated by both the scenery and Wanda's enthusiasm, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "And this is my favorite spot. I can grab my world from here..."

Wanda giggled softly, "So cheesy! Where did you even learn that."

"A movie," Jerry replied with a small chuckle.

"What movie?" Pietro asked as he appeared behind Jerry in a flash.

Pietro's sudden appearance startled Wanda but didn't faze Jerry at all, and he replied to him with the name of the said movie's name.

Pietro raised his brows as he noticed his failed prank on Jerry. It was as if Jerry could sense his arrival from miles away...

"What were you guys doing?" Pietro asked nonchalantly as he leaned on the golden grill.

"What did it look to you when you interrupted us." Jerry retorted as he released Wanda's waist and turned to him.

"Ha ha ha, well, Lilja was busy with her training and I had nothing important to do, so I thought why not bother you two to relieve some boredom..."

"And I also heard that you're getting your name changed, haha, whatever it is, it is gonna be 1000 times better than Jerry the mouse, hahaha " Pietro's chuckle diminished as he saw Wanda's fingers engulf in crimson energy.

Jerry smiled, not minding his remarks about his name, "Anyway, Pietro. I didn't get the chance to say this yesterday but thanks a lot for taking care of Wanda when I was... dead."

"Well, no need to thank me, pal. I'm her brother, after all. She missed you like hell. Fuck, she was even searching for methods to revive you from the dead. I'm glad that you returned on your own." The speedster chuckled.

"Oh, and Lilja wanted to see Earth, so like I wanted to ask when can leave for there?"

"You mentioned her before as well. Is she the same girl that was with you at the party yesterday?" Jerry asked with a grin.

Pietro nodded enthusiastically and blabbered to him about all her good qualities and how beautiful she was.

Wanda couldn't help but laugh at Pietro's animated description of Lilja.

Jerry could tell how much he cared for her and how happy she made him.

As for Lilja wanting to visit Earth, Wanda couldn't contain her excitement.

"That sounds amazing!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "We could show her all the famous places."

"Yeah, I wish we could take her to a place we could call home too though. Jerry's mothership isn't exactly my idea of something called home. It's more of a base."

"On that regard, I myself agree." Jerry nodded as he folded his arms, "Then let's make a house in Sokovia and we also have stabalize your country."

Wanda and Pietro smiled wryly.

"Then how about after my name-giving ceremony is done, we leave for Earth. I don't want to delay making Wanda a queen."

"Huh?" The twins uttered in unison.
