31 30. Thor: The Dark World

From the day Jerry arrived in this universe, there was only one thing he wanted more than anything.

A better, stronger, and most importantly, a beautiful body.

He has come so far to reach his goal, he has even created a physical body that is close to ideal in his mind.

He is just missing one piece.

A way to transfer his consciousness into that body...

If it was possible then he would have preferred the soul stone, but it's not possible for him. He can't sacrifice any of his loved ones to get a stone.

If only someone could get him that for him. If only could Thanos push Gamora off that cliff sooner...

Anyway, his other option is to combine the powers of the Mind Stone and the Reality Stone. It is not confirmed that the idea he has will work or not but there is only one way to find out, and the first step for that is obtaining the stones themselves.

Jerry already has the mind stone, now, he just needs the Reality stone.

For those unaware, the Reality Stone has a pretty dope lore!

Long before the birth of light, there was darkness, and from that darkness, came the Dark Elves.

Millennia ago, the most ruthless of their kind, Malekith, sought to transform this universe back into one of eternal night.

Such evil was possible through the power of the Aether, an ancient force of infinite destruction.

However, the noble armies of Asgard, led by King Bor, waged a mighty war against these creatures.

As the Nine Worlds converged above him, Malekith could at last unleash the Aether...

But Asgard ripped the weapon from his grasp.

Without it, the Dark Elves fell.

With the battle all but lost, Malekith sacrificed his own people in a desperate attempt to lay waste to Asgard's army.

Malekith was vanquished, and the Aether was no more. Or so everyone was led to believe.

The Aether, or... the Reality Stone was indestructible, so it was hidden by King Bor. Somewhere no one would ever find it.

And that's where the plot intervenes. When the next day of convergence neared, Jane Foster, Thor's girlfriend, accidentally stumbled upon it, which caused the whole plot of Thor — The Dark World.

And that day is today...

Jerry, just like Eric Selvig and Jane Foster, was studying the convergence and the gravitational anomalies on Earth, to predict the coming of Convergence, the alignment of the Worlds.

So, he was able to predict when the events of Thor - The Dark World would unfold.

His device notified him of the anomalies on Earth and that's why, right now, he was keeping an eye on the place from where Jane was ported to the location of the Reality Stone.

Jerry, Wanda, and Pietro were watching the scene unfold as Jane arrived in the car with her intern, Darcy Lewis, and her intern's intern, Ian.

"So, why are we waiting for this girl to get the stone that you want so much when you already know the place where you can find it yourself again?" Pietro asked.

"Well, because she's Thor's girlfriend, only she can enter that place.", Jerry replied, intently watching the live feed from the stealth ship's control room.

Pietro deadpanned, he didn't really understand this whole thing, but it was okay.

Also, that was just a lazy excuse by Jerry. Besides, how was he gonna explain that even he didn't know why Jane was able to enter "that" place in particular out of all the places in the nine realms that were linked with the convergence?

Well, sometimes, things can't be obtained through logic, sometimes it's just a coincidence that changes everything for everyone. Sometimes, it's the coincidence that chooses you.

Or perhaps, this is what they mean when they say words like destiny or fate...

Plus, it was better if Aether didn't enter his body... That amount of power could have adverse effects on his old and withering body.

"Oh, Oh, she disappeared! She disappeared!" Pietro shouted excitedly as he watched Jane slip and disappear from the world.

He was rushing outside of the Stealth ship but was stopped by Wanda.

Speedsters are cool and all, but they get bored easily and they are a headache to handle. Jerry and Wanda know that better than anyone else.

Anyway, after about 5 hours, Jane was back...

And...

It was time...

To meet the God of Thunder.

After Jane returned back to Earth from that weird place, she went out to look for Darcy.

And when she got out of the building, she was angry to see the police. Also, it turns out that she was gone for more than 5 hours!

And then something weird happened, it was raining everywhere except for the circular area with her at the center.

"That's weird..."

Before she could even process anything, she saw Thor standing at a distance...

As if in a trance she walked towards him and before he could speak anything she slapped him to check if he was even real, or just a fantasy of her mind.

"Sorry, I just needed to make sure that you were real. It's been a very strange day", she explained herself.

"I am. Jane, what-", Thor confirmed his existence, but...

*Slap*

He was slapped again.

"Where were you!" Jane asked,

"Where were YOU," Thor asked back, "Heimdall couldn't see you."

"I was right where you left me."

As Jane was nagging to Thor about how she waited for him for all this time Darcy interrupted to tell them of their possible arrest.

Jane sighed and went to talk with the police but the policeman was quite dutybound, he tried to grab Jane's hand. And that's when the Aether inside her acted...

It caused a dark crimson explosion, pushing everyone away from her. Due to the chaotic nature of the Aether, Jane was pushed back as well.

But before she could fall, something or someone interfered...

She found herself floating, inches above ground. She was then reoriented and made to stand up by an invisible force.

The same with the policemen who were caught in the explosion, they were saved from falling and having injuries.

As everyone was surprised by what just happened, they saw a new arrival.

"Greetings, everyone," Jerry said, descending from the sky. Dressed in Maw's traditional outfit and his visor, his form looked graceful.

Without waiting any further, Thor rushed to Jane's side and put his arms around her shoulders for her support.

"Hello, Thor, Jane." Jerry greeted once again, landing a few meters away from the God of Thunder and his girlfriend.

"And who are you supposed to be?" Thor asked, his deep voice filled with suspicion.

"I am Jerry Anderson. And let's just say that I am the only one who knows about the entity Jane that has entered her body. And I could invent a way to take the cause of her illness out of her body as well."

"Illness...? What's he talking about, Thor?" Jane asked weakly, the sudden burst of energy a few moments earlier really took a lot out of her.

"She is in danger from a forgotten race as well..." Jerry added more graveness to the situation.

Thor squinted his eyes, contemplating for a moment, he then pointed his hammer towards Jerry.

"If you're lying..." Thor warned in a threatening voice.

Jerry raised his arms in surrender, "I know, I know. I am not out of my mind to aggravate the most powerful beings of this universe. I just want to help, in return, you owe me a favor."

Thor nodded, "Hm, what do you know about her illness."

"It's the Aether..." Jerry revealed.

This surprised Thor, but not enough to make him flinch.

Then... he called out for Heimdall, the next moment, ancient scriptures started to burn themselves on the ground below Thor and Jane.

Before the Bifrost descended from above, Jerry was only able to shout that the offer was open anytime.

'Well, that was a bust...' Jerry sighed.

He wanted Thor to take him to Asgard as well...
